Yaa-Seeen    

YA SIN.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 1

"وَالْقُرْآنِ الْحَكِيمِ"

Wal-Qur-aanil-Hakeem

I call to witness the Quran, custodian of all laws, --

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 2

"إِنَّكَ لَمِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ"

Innaka laminal mursaleen

That you are indeed one of those sent

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 3

"عَلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ"

Alaa Siraatim Mustaqeem

On a path that is straight, --

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 4

"تَنْزِيلَ الْعَزِيزِ الرَّحِيمِ"

Tanzeelal 'Azeezir Raheem

A revelation from the mighty, ever-merciful (God),

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 5

"لِتُنْذِرَ قَوْمًا مَا أُنْذِرَ آبَاؤُهُمْ فَهُمْ غَافِلُونَ"

Litunzira qawmam maaa unzira aabaaa'uhum fahum ghaafiloon

That you may warn a people whose ancestors had never been warned, who are therefore heedless.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 6

"لَقَدْ حَقَّ الْقَوْلُ عَلَىٰ أَكْثَرِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ"

Laqad haqqal qawlu 'alaaa aksarihim fahum laa yu'minoon

The sentence is surely justified against most of them, for they do not believe.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 7

"إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا فِي أَعْنَاقِهِمْ أَغْلَالًا فَهِيَ إِلَى الْأَذْقَانِ فَهُمْ مُقْمَحُونَ"

Innaa ja'alnaa feee a'naaqihim aghlaalan fahiya ilal azqaani fahum muqmahoon

We will certainly put iron collars on their heel?s which will come up to their chins, so that they will not be able to raise their heads.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 8

"وَجَعَلْنَا مِنْ بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ سَدًّا وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ سَدًّا فَأَغْشَيْنَاهُمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُبْصِرُونَ"

Wa ja'alnaa mim baini aydeehim saddanw-wa min khalfihim saddan fa aghshai naahum fahum laa yubsiroon

And We shall raise a barrier in front of them and a barrier behind them, and cover them over so that they will not be able to see.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 9

"وَسَوَاءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ أَأَنْذَرْتَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تُنْذِرْهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ"

Wa sawaaa'un 'alaihim 'a-anzartahum am lam tunzirhum laa yu'minoon

Whether you warn them or do not warn, it is all the same; they will not believe.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 10

"إِنَّمَا تُنْذِرُ مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الذِّكْرَ وَخَشِيَ الرَّحْمَٰنَ بِالْغَيْبِ ۖ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِمَغْفِرَةٍ وَأَجْرٍ كَرِيمٍ"

Innamaa tunziru manit taba 'az-Zikra wa khashiyar Rahmaana bilghaib, fabashshirhu bimaghfiratinw-wa ajrin kareem

You can only warn him who listens to the warning and fears Ar-Rahman secretly. So give him good news of forgiveness and a generous reward.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 11

"إِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْيِي الْمَوْتَىٰ وَنَكْتُبُ مَا قَدَّمُوا وَآثَارَهُمْ ۚ وَكُلَّ شَيْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَاهُ فِي إِمَامٍ مُبِينٍ"

Innaa Nahnu nuhyil mawtaa wa naktubu maa qaddamoo wa aasaarahum; wa kulla shai'in ahsainaahu feee Imaamim Mubeen

It is We indeed who bring back the dead to life, and write down what they send ahead (of their deeds), and traces that they leave behind. We keep an account of all things in a lucid register.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 12

"وَاضْرِبْ لَهُمْ مَثَلًا أَصْحَابَ الْقَرْيَةِ إِذْ جَاءَهَا الْمُرْسَلُونَ"

Wadrib lahum masalan Ashaabal Qaryatih; iz jaaa'ahal mursaloon

Narrate to them the example of the people of the city when the messengers came to it.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 13

"إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهِمُ اثْنَيْنِ فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَعَزَّزْنَا بِثَالِثٍ فَقَالُوا إِنَّا إِلَيْكُمْ مُرْسَلُونَ"

Iz arsalnaaa ilaihimusnaini fakazzaboohumaa fa'azzaznaa bisaalisin faqaalooo innaaa ilaikum mursaloon

When We sent two of them they called them liars; so We sent a third to strengthen them. "We have been sent to you," they said.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 14

"قَالُوا مَا أَنْتُمْ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِثْلُنَا وَمَا أَنْزَلَ الرَّحْمَٰنُ مِنْ شَيْءٍ إِنْ أَنْتُمْ إِلَّا تَكْذِبُونَ"

Qaaloo maaa antum illaa basharum mislunaa wa maaa anzalar Rahmaanu min shai'in in antum illaa takziboon

"You are only men like us," they replied; "Ar-Rahman has not sent down any thing. You are speaking only lies."

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 15

"قَالُوا رَبُّنَا يَعْلَمُ إِنَّا إِلَيْكُمْ لَمُرْسَلُونَ"

Qaaloo Rabbunaa ya'lamu innaaa ilaikum lamursaloon

(The messengers) said: "Our Lord knows that we have been sent to you.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 16

"وَمَا عَلَيْنَا إِلَّا الْبَلَاغُ الْمُبِينُ"

Wa maa 'alainaaa illal balaaghul mubeen

Our duty is to convey the message clearly."

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 17

"قَالُوا إِنَّا تَطَيَّرْنَا بِكُمْ ۖ لَئِنْ لَمْ تَنْتَهُوا لَنَرْجُمَنَّكُمْ وَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُمْ مِنَّا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ"

Qaaloo innaa tataiyarnaa bikum la'il-lam tantahoo lanar jumannakum wa la-yamassan nakum minnaa 'azaabun aleem

They rejoined: "We feel you augur ill. If you do not desist, we shall stone you to death, and inflict a grievous punishment on you."

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 18

"قَالُوا طَائِرُكُمْ مَعَكُمْ ۚ أَئِنْ ذُكِّرْتُمْ ۚ بَلْ أَنْتُمْ قَوْمٌ مُسْرِفُونَ"

Qaaloo taaa'irukum ma'akum; a'in zukkirtum; bal antum qawmum musrifoon

(The messengers) said: "The augury is within your own selves. Do you (consider it a bad omen) that you should be warned? You are a people guilty of excess."

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 19

"وَجَاءَ مِنْ أَقْصَى الْمَدِينَةِ رَجُلٌ يَسْعَىٰ قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اتَّبِعُوا الْمُرْسَلِينَ"

Wa jaaa'a min aqsal madeenati rajuluny yas'aa qaala yaa qawmit tabi'ul mursaleen

Then a man came running from the other side of the city. "O my people," he said, "follow the messengers.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 20

"اتَّبِعُوا مَنْ لَا يَسْأَلُكُمْ أَجْرًا وَهُمْ مُهْتَدُونَ"

Ittabi'oo mal-laa yas'alukum ajranw-wa hum muhtadoon

Follow those who do not ask for any recompense of you, and are rightly guided.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 21

وَمَا لِيَ لَا أَعْبُدُ الَّذِي فَطَرَنِي وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ

Wa maa liya laaa a'budul lazee fataranee wa ilaihi turja'oon

Why should I not worship Him who brought me into being, to whom you will be brought back in the end?

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 22

"أَأَتَّخِذُ مِنْ دُونِهِ آلِهَةً إِنْ يُرِدْنِ الرَّحْمَٰنُ بِضُرٍّ لَا تُغْنِ عَنِّي شَفَاعَتُهُمْ شَيْئًا وَلَا يُنْقِذُونِ"

A-attakhizu min dooniheee aalihatan iny-yuridnir Rahmaanu bidurril-laa tughni 'annee shafaa 'atuhum shai 'anw-wa laa yunqizoon

Should I take other gods apart from Him, who would neither be able to intercede for me nor save me if Ar-Rahman brings me harm?

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 23

"إِنِّي إِذًا لَفِي ضَلَالٍ مُبِينٍ"

Inneee izal-lafee dalaa-lim-mubeen

In that case I would surely be in clear error.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 24

"إِنِّي آمَنْتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ فَاسْمَعُونِ"

Inneee aamantu bi Rabbikum fasma'oon

I believe in your Lord, so listen to me."

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 25

"قِيلَ ادْخُلِ الْجَنَّةَ ۖ قَالَ يَا لَيْتَ قَوْمِي يَعْلَمُونَ"

Qeelad khulil Jannnah; qaala yaa laita qawmee ya'lamoon

(But they stoned him to death.) It was said to him: "Enter Paradise;" and he said: "If only my people knew

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 26

"بِمَا غَفَرَ لِي رَبِّي وَجَعَلَنِي مِنَ الْمُكْرَمِينَ"

Bimaa ghafara lee Rabbee wa ja'alanee minal mukrameen (End Juz 22)

How my Lord has forgiven me and made me one of those who are honoured!"

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 27

"۞ وَمَا أَنْزَلْنَا عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ مِنْ جُنْدٍ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَمَا كُنَّا مُنْزِلِينَ"

Wa maaa anzalnaa 'alaa qawmihee mim ba'dihee min jundim minas-samaaa'i wa maa kunnaa munzileen

We did not send down any army against his people from heaven, nor did We have to send one.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 28

"إِنْ كَانَتْ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً فَإِذَا هُمْ خَامِدُونَ"

In kaanat illaa saihatanw waahidatan fa-izaa hum khaamidoon

There was just one blast, and they were extinguished.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 29

"يَا حَسْرَةً عَلَى الْعِبَادِ ۚ مَا يَأْتِيهِمْ مِنْ رَسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ"

Yaa hasratan 'alal 'ibaad; maa yaateehim mir Rasoolin illaa kaanoo bihee yastahzi 'oon

Alas for men! No apostle ever came to them but they made fun of him.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 30

"أَلَمْ يَرَوْا كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُمْ مِنَ الْقُرُونِ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ لَا يَرْجِعُونَ"

Alam yaraw kam ahlak naa qablahum minal qurooni annahum ilaihim laa yarji'oon

Have they not seen how many generations have We destroyed before them who will not return again?

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 31

"وَإِنْ كُلٌّ لَمَّا جَمِيعٌ لَدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَ"

Wa in kullul lammaa jamee'ul-ladainaa muhdaroon

They will all be brought together before Us.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 32

"وَآيَةٌ لَهُمُ الْأَرْضُ الْمَيْتَةُ أَحْيَيْنَاهَا وَأَخْرَجْنَا مِنْهَا حَبًّا فَمِنْهُ يَأْكُلُونَ"

Wa Aayatul lahumul ardul maitatu ahyainaahaa wa akhrajnaa minhaa habban faminhu yaakuloon

There is a sign in the dead earth for them which We quicken, and produce from it grain which they eat.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 33

"وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا جَنَّاتٍ مِنْ نَخِيلٍ وَأَعْنَابٍ وَفَجَّرْنَا فِيهَا مِنَ الْعُيُونِ"

Wa ja'alnaa feehaa jannaatim min nakheelinw wa a'naabinw wa fajjarnaa feeha minal 'uyoon

We have laid out gardens of dates and grapes upon it, and made springs of water flow,

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 34

"لِيَأْكُلُوا مِنْ ثَمَرِهِ وَمَا عَمِلَتْهُ أَيْدِيهِمْ ۖ أَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَ"

Liyaakuloo min samarihee wa maa 'amilat-hu aideehim; afalaa yashkuroon

So that they may eat of its fruit; yet it was not done by their hands. Then why do they not acknowledge thanks?

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 35

"سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ الْأَزْوَاجَ كُلَّهَا مِمَّا تُنْبِتُ الْأَرْضُ وَمِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَمِمَّا لَا يَعْلَمُونَ"

Subhaanal lazee khalaqal azwaaja kullahaa mimmaa tumbitul ardu wa min anfusihim wa mimmaa laa ya'lamoon

All glory to Him who created pairs of everything that grows from the earth, and out of themselves, and other things they do not know.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 36

"وَآيَةٌ لَهُمُ اللَّيْلُ نَسْلَخُ مِنْهُ النَّهَارَ فَإِذَا هُمْ مُظْلِمُونَ"

Wa Aayatul lahumul lailu naslakhu minhun nahaara fa-izaa hum muzlimoon

And there is a sign in the night for them. We strip off the day from it and they are left in darkness,

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 37

"وَالشَّمْسُ تَجْرِي لِمُسْتَقَرٍّ لَهَا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ تَقْدِيرُ الْعَزِيزِ الْعَلِيمِ"

Wash-shamsu tajree limustaqarril lahaa; zaalika taqdeerul 'Azeezil Aleem

While the sun keeps revolving in its orbit. This is the dispensation of the mighty, all-knowing (God).

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 38

"وَالْقَمَرَ قَدَّرْنَاهُ مَنَازِلَ حَتَّىٰ عَادَ كَالْعُرْجُونِ الْقَدِيمِ"

Walqamara qaddarnaahu manaazila hattaa 'aada kal'ur joonil qadeem

We have determined the stations of the moon, so that (after its wanderings) it returns as a dried up inflorescent spike of dates.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 39

"لَا الشَّمْسُ يَنْبَغِي لَهَا أَنْ تُدْرِكَ الْقَمَرَ وَلَا اللَّيْلُ سَابِقُ النَّهَارِ ۚ وَكُلٌّ فِي فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ"

Lash shamsu yambaghee lahaaa an tudrikal qamara wa lal lailu saabiqun nahaar; wa kullun fee falaki yasbahoon

Neither can the sun overtake the moon, nor the night outpace the day: Each of them keeps coursing in its orbit.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 40

"وَآيَةٌ لَهُمْ أَنَّا حَمَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ فِي الْفُلْكِ الْمَشْحُونِ"

Wa Aayatul lahum annaa hamalnaa zurriyatahum fil fulkil mashhoon

That We bore their progeny in the laden ark is a sign for them;

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 41

"وَخَلَقْنَا لَهُمْ مِنْ مِثْلِهِ مَا يَرْكَبُونَ"

Wa khalaqnaa lahum mim-mislihee maa yarkaboon

And We made similar vessels for them to ride.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 42

"وَإِنْ نَشَأْ نُغْرِقْهُمْ فَلَا صَرِيخَ لَهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنْقَذُونَ"

Wa in nashaa nughriqhum falaa sareekha lahum wa laa hum yunqazoon

We could have drowned them if We pleased, and none would have answered their cry for help, nor would they have been saved,

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 43

"إِلَّا رَحْمَةً مِنَّا وَمَتَاعًا إِلَىٰ حِينٍ"

Illaa rahmatam minnaa wa mataa'an ilaa heen

Unless by Our benevolence, to reap advantage for a time.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 44

"وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ اتَّقُوا مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَمَا خَلْفَكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ"

Wa izaa qeela lahumuttaqoo maa baina aideekum wa maa khalfakum la'allakum turhamoon

When it is said to them: "Beware of what is before you and what is past, that you may be treated with kindness;"

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 45

"وَمَا تَأْتِيهِمْ مِنْ آيَةٍ مِنْ آيَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَّا كَانُوا عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ"

Wa maa taateehim min aayatim min Aayaati Rabbihim illaa kaanoo 'anhaa mu'rideen

None of the signs of their Lord ever comes to them but they turn away from it.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 46

"وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ أَنْفِقُوا مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ اللَّهُ قَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَنُطْعِمُ مَنْ لَوْ يَشَاءُ اللَّهُ أَطْعَمَهُ إِنْ أَنْتُمْ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَالٍ مُبِينٍ"

Wa izaa qeela lahum anfiqoo mimmaa razaqakumul laahu qaalal lazeena kafaroo lillazeena aamanooo anut'imu mal-law yashaaa'ul laahu at'amahooo in antum illaa fee dalaalim mubeen

When they are told: "Spend of what God has given you," the unbelievers say to those who believe: "Why should we feed those whom God should have fed if He pleased?" You are only in palpable error.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 47

"وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا الْوَعْدُ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ"

Wa yaqooloona mataa haazal wa'du in kuntum saadiqeen

And they say: "When will this promise come to pass, if what you say is true?"

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 48

"مَا يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً تَأْخُذُهُمْ وَهُمْ يَخِصِّمُونَ"

Maa yanzuroona illaa saihatanw waahidatan taa khuzuhum wa hum yakhissimoon

They are only waiting for a single blast that will seize them, but they will go on contending.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 49

"فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ تَوْصِيَةً وَلَا إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِمْ يَرْجِعُونَ"

Falaa yastatee'oona taw siyatanw-wa laaa ilaaa ahlihim yarji'oon

Then they would not be able to make a will, or go back to their people.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 50

"وَنُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ فَإِذَا هُمْ مِنَ الْأَجْدَاثِ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَنْسِلُونَ"

Wa nufikha fis-soori faizaa hum minal ajdaasi ilaa Rabbihim yansiloon

When the trumpet blast is sounded they will come out of their graves and hasten to their Lord,

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 51

"قَالُوا يَا وَيْلَنَا مَنْ بَعَثَنَا مِنْ مَرْقَدِنَا ۜ ۗ هَٰذَا مَا وَعَدَ الرَّحْمَٰنُ وَصَدَقَ الْمُرْسَلُونَ"

Qaaloo yaa wailanaa mam ba'asanaa mim marqadinaa; haaza maa wa'adar Rahmanu wa sadaqal mursaloon

Saying: "Ah woe, who has roused us from our sleep?" This is what Ar-Rahman had promised, and whose truth the apostles had affirmed.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 52

"إِنْ كَانَتْ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً فَإِذَا هُمْ جَمِيعٌ لَدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَ"

In kaanat illaa saihatanw waahidatan fa-izaa hum jamee'ul ladainaa muhdaroon

It would be but a single blast of the trumpet, and they would all be arraigned before Us.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 53

"فَالْيَوْمَ لَا تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٌ شَيْئًا وَلَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ"

Fal-Yawma laa tuzlamu nafsun shai'anw-wa laa tujzawna illaa maa kuntum ta'maloon

No soul will be wronged the least that Day, nor would be recompensed but only for what it had done.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 54

"إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ الْجَنَّةِ الْيَوْمَ فِي شُغُلٍ فَاكِهُونَ"

Inna Ashaabal jannatil Yawma fee shughulin faakihoon

Surely the inmates of Paradise will be engaged in pastimes.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 55

"هُمْ وَأَزْوَاجُهُمْ فِي ظِلَالٍ عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ مُتَّكِئُونَ"

Hum wa azwaajuhum fee zilaalin 'alal araaa'iki muttaki'oon

They and their companions will recline on couches in the shade.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 56

"لَهُمْ فِيهَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَلَهُمْ مَا يَدَّعُونَ"

Lahum feehaa faakiha tunw-wa lahum maa yadda'oon

For them will be fruits and whatever they ask.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 57

"سَلَامٌ قَوْلًا مِنْ رَبٍّ رَحِيمٍ"

Salaamun qawlam mir Rabbir Raheem

"Peace" shall be the greeting from the merciful Lord.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 58

"وَامْتَازُوا الْيَوْمَ أَيُّهَا الْمُجْرِمُونَ"

Wamtaazul Yawma ayyuhal mujrimoon

(And the guilty will be told:) "O sinners, separate yourselves this day.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 59

"۞ أَلَمْ أَعْهَدْ إِلَيْكُمْ يَا بَنِي آدَمَ أَنْ لَا تَعْبُدُوا الشَّيْطَانَ ۖ إِنَّهُ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ مُبِينٌ"

Alam a'had ilaikum yaa Baneee Aadama al-laa ta'budush Shaitaana innahoo lakum 'aduwwum mubeen

Did I not commit you, O children of Adam, not to worship Satan who is your acknowledged foe,

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 60

"وَأَنِ اعْبُدُونِي ۚ هَٰذَا صِرَاطٌ مُسْتَقِيمٌ"

Wa ani'budoonee; haazaa Siraatum Mustaqeem

But to serve Me; (that) this is the straight path?

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 61

"وَلَقَدْ أَضَلَّ مِنْكُمْ جِبِلًّا كَثِيرًا ۖ أَفَلَمْ تَكُونُوا تَعْقِلُونَ"

Wa laqad adalla minkum jibillan kaseeraa; afalam takoonoo ta'qiloon

But he beguiled a great many of you. Why did you not then understand?

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 62

"هَٰذِهِ جَهَنَّمُ الَّتِي كُنْتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ"

Haazihee Jahannamul latee kuntum too'adoon

This is the Hell that you were promised.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 63

"اصْلَوْهَا الْيَوْمَ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ"

Islawhal Yawma bimaa kuntum takfuroon

Roast in it now for having disbelieved."

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 64

"الْيَوْمَ نَخْتِمُ عَلَىٰ أَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَتُكَلِّمُنَا أَيْدِيهِمْ وَتَشْهَدُ أَرْجُلُهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ"

Al-Yawma nakhtimu 'alaaa afwaahihim wa tukallimunaaa aideehim wa tashhadu arjuluhum bimaa kaanoo yaksiboon

We shall seal their lips that day; and their hands will speak, their feet testify to what they had done.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 65

"وَلَوْ نَشَاءُ لَطَمَسْنَا عَلَىٰ أَعْيُنِهِمْ فَاسْتَبَقُوا الصِّرَاطَ فَأَنَّىٰ يُبْصِرُونَ"

Wa law nashaaa'u lata masna 'alaaa aiyunihim fasta baqus-siraata fa-annaa yubsiroon

We could take away their sight if We pleased; then they would run around to find the way: But how then would they see?

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 66

"وَلَوْ نَشَاءُ لَمَسَخْنَاهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِهِمْ فَمَا اسْتَطَاعُوا مُضِيًّا وَلَا يَرْجِعُونَ"

Wa law nashaaa'u lamasakhnaahum 'alaa makaanatihim famas-tataa'oo mudiyyanw-wa laa yarji'oon

And if We pleased We could paralyse them in their tracks, and they would not be able to move forward or turn back.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 67

"وَمَنْ نُعَمِّرْهُ نُنَكِّسْهُ فِي الْخَلْقِ ۖ أَفَلَا يَعْقِلُونَ"

Wa man nu 'ammirhu nunakkishu fil-khalq; afalaa ya'qiloon

Whoever reaches old age, We reverse in natural disposition. Do they not have sense (to see)?

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 68

"وَمَا عَلَّمْنَاهُ الشِّعْرَ وَمَا يَنْبَغِي لَهُ ۚ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ وَقُرْآنٌ مُبِينٌ"

Wa maa 'allamnaahush shi'ra wa maa yambaghee lah; in huwa illaa zikrunw-wa Qur-aanum mubeen

We have not taught (Muhammad) to versify, nor is it worthy of him. This is nothing but a reminder and illuminating discourse,

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 69

"لِيُنْذِرَ مَنْ كَانَ حَيًّا وَيَحِقَّ الْقَوْلُ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ"

Liyunzira man kaana haiyanw-wa yahiqqal qawlu 'alal-kaafireen

So that he may warn him who is alive and feels, and justify the word against those who do not believe.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 70

"أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّا خَلَقْنَا لَهُمْ مِمَّا عَمِلَتْ أَيْدِينَا أَنْعَامًا فَهُمْ لَهَا مَالِكُونَ"

Awalam yaraw annaa khalaqnaa lahum mimmaa 'amilat aideenaaa an'aaman fahum lahaa maalikoon

Do they not see the cattle among things We have fashioned by Our power, which they own,

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 71

"وَذَلَّلْنَاهَا لَهُمْ فَمِنْهَا رَكُوبُهُمْ وَمِنْهَا يَأْكُلُونَ"

Wa zallalnaahaa lahum faminhaa rakoobuhum wa minhaa yaakuloon

Whom We made subservient to them so that some of them they ride and some they eat?

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 72

"وَلَهُمْ فِيهَا مَنَافِعُ وَمَشَارِبُ ۖ أَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَ"

Wa lahum feehaa manaa fi'u wa mashaarib; afalaa yashkuroon

And they derive other advantages and drinks from them. Even then they do not offer thanks,

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 73

"وَاتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ آلِهَةً لَعَلَّهُمْ يُنْصَرُونَ"

Wattakhazoo min doonil laahi aalihatal la'allahum yunsaroon

And take other gods apart from God that they may perhaps give them help.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 74

"لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُمْ جُنْدٌ مُحْضَرُونَ"

Laa yastatee'oona nasrahum wa hum lahum jundum muhdaroon

They will not be able to help them and will be brought (to Us) as their levied troops.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 75

"فَلَا يَحْزُنْكَ قَوْلُهُمْ ۘ إِنَّا نَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ"

Falaa yahzunka qawluhum; innaa na'lamu maa yusirroona wa maa yu'linoon

So be not grieved by what they say. We certainly know what they hide and disclose.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 76

"أَوَلَمْ يَرَ الْإِنْسَانُ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَاهُ مِنْ نُطْفَةٍ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِيمٌ مُبِينٌ"

Awalam yaral insaanu annaa khalaqnaahu min nutfatin fa-izaa huwa khaseemum mubeen

Does not man see We created him from a drop of semen? Even then he becomes an open contender,

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 77

"وَضَرَبَ لَنَا مَثَلًا وَنَسِيَ خَلْقَهُ ۖ قَالَ مَنْ يُحْيِي الْعِظَامَ وَهِيَ رَمِيمٌ"

Wa daraba lanaa maslanw-wa nasiya khalqahoo qaala mai-yuhyil'izaama wa hiya rameem

And applies comparisons to Us, having forgotten his origin, and says: "Who can put life into decayed bones?"

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 78

"قُلْ يُحْيِيهَا الَّذِي أَنْشَأَهَا أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ ۖ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ خَلْقٍ عَلِيمٌ"

Qul yuh yeehal lazeee ansha ahaaa awwala marrah; wa Huwa bikulli khalqin 'Aleem

Say: "He who created you the first time. He has knowledge of every creation,

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 79

"الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمْ مِنَ الشَّجَرِ الْأَخْضَرِ نَارًا فَإِذَا أَنْتُمْ مِنْهُ تُوقِدُونَ"

Allazee ja'ala lakum minash shajaril akhdari naaran fa-izaaa antum minhu tooqidoon

Who gave you fire from a green tree, with which you ignite the flame."

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 80

"أَوَلَيْسَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِقَادِرٍ عَلَىٰ أَنْ يَخْلُقَ مِثْلَهُمْ ۚ بَلَىٰ وَهُوَ الْخَلَّاقُ الْعَلِيمُ"

Awa laisal lazee khalaqas samaawaati wal arda biqaadirin 'alaaa ai-yakhluqa mislahum; balaa wa Huwal Khallaaqul 'Aleem

How can He who created the heavens and the earth not be able to create others like them? Why not? He is the real creator all-knowing.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 81

"إِنَّمَا أَمْرُهُ إِذَا أَرَادَ شَيْئًا أَنْ يَقُولَ لَهُ كُنْ فَيَكُونُ"

Innamaa amruhooo izaaa araada shai'an ai-yaqoola lahoo kun fa-yakoon

When He wills a thing He has only to say: "Be," and it is.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 82

"فَسُبْحَانَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ"

Fa Subhaanal lazee biyadihee malakootu kulli shai-inw-wa ilaihi turja'oon

So all glory to Him who holds all power over everything, to whom you will go back in the end.

Surah Number : 36 , Ayat Number : 83
