" قَدْ أَفْلَحَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ

Qad aflahal mu'minoon    

THE TRUE BELIEVERS will be successful,

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 1

"الَّذِينَ هُمْ فِي صَلَاتِهِمْ خَاشِعُونَ"

Allazeena hum fee Salaatihim khaashi'oon

Who are humble in their service,

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 2

"وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ عَنِ اللَّغْوِ مُعْرِضُونَ"

Wallazeena hum 'anillaghwimu'ridoon

Who shun all frivolities,

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 3

"وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ لِلزَّكَاةِ فَاعِلُونَ"

Wallazeena hum liz Zakaati faa'iloon

Who strive for betterment;

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 4

"وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَافِظُونَ"

Wallazeena hum lifuroo jihim haafizoon

Who guard their sex

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 5

"إِلَّا عَلَىٰ أَزْوَاجِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِينَ"

Illaa 'alaaa azwaajihim aw maa malakat aimaanuhum fa innahum ghairu maloomeen

Except from their wives and women slaves of old are free of blame,

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 6

"فَمَنِ ابْتَغَىٰ وَرَاءَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْعَادُونَ"

Famanib taghaa waraaa'a zaalika fa ulaaa'ika humul 'aadoon

But those who covet more than this will be transgressors;

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 7

"وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ لِأَمَانَاتِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَاعُونَ"

Wallazeena hum li amaanaatihim wa 'ahdihim raa'oon

And those who fulfil their trusts and keep their promises;

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 8

"وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَوَاتِهِمْ يُحَافِظُونَ"

Wallazeena hum 'alaa Salawaatihim yuhaafizoon

And those who are watchful of their acts of prayer.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 9

"أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْوَارِثُونَ"

Ulaaa'ika humul waarisoon

These are the real gainers,

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 10

"الَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ الْفِرْدَوْسَ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ"

Allazeena yarisoonal Firdawsa hum feehaa khaalidoon

Who will inherit Paradise, and live in it for ever.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 11

"وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنْسَانَ مِنْ سُلَالَةٍ مِنْ طِينٍ"

Wa laqad khalaqnal insaana min sulaalatim minteen

We created man from the finest extract of clay,

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 12

"ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَاهُ نُطْفَةً فِي قَرَارٍ مَكِينٍ"

Summa ja'alnaahu nutfatan fee qaraarim makeen

Then We placed him as a sperm in a firmly established lodging;

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 13

"ثُمَّ خَلَقْنَا النُّطْفَةَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقْنَا الْعَلَقَةَ مُضْغَةً فَخَلَقْنَا الْمُضْغَةَ عِظَامًا فَكَسَوْنَا الْعِظَامَ لَحْمًا ثُمَّ أَنْشَأْنَاهُ خَلْقًا آخَرَ ۚ فَتَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ أَحْسَنُ الْخَالِقِينَ"

Summa khalaqnan nutfata 'alaqatan fakhalaqnal 'alaqata mudghatan fakhalaq nal mudghata 'izaaman fakasawnal 'izaama lahman summa anshaanaahu khalqan aakhar; fatabaarakal laahu ahsanul khaaliqeen

Then We fashioned the sperm into an embryo, then fashioned the embryo into a shapeless lump of flesh; then from the lump of flesh We fashioned bones, then clothed the bones with flesh. Thus We formed him into a new creation. So blessed be God the best of Creators.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 14

"ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ لَمَيِّتُونَ"

Summa innakum ba'da zaalika la maaiyitoon

And then you will certainly die,

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 15

"ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ تُبْعَثُونَ"

Summa innakum Yawmal Qiyaamati tub'asoon

Then will be raised up on the Day of Resurrection.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 16

"وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعَ طَرَائِقَ وَمَا كُنَّا عَنِ الْخَلْقِ غَافِلِينَ"

Wa laqad khalaqnaa fawqakum sab'a taraaa'iqa wa maa kunnaa 'anil khalqi ghaafileen

We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 17

"وَأَنْزَلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً بِقَدَرٍ فَأَسْكَنَّاهُ فِي الْأَرْضِ ۖ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰ ذَهَابٍ بِهِ لَقَادِرُونَ"

Wa anzalnaa minas samaaa'i maaa'am biqadarin fa-askannaahu fil ardi wa innaa 'alaa zahaabim bihee laqaa diroon

We send down water from the sky in determined measure, and store it up in the earth; and We have power to drain it away.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 18

"فَأَنْشَأْنَا لَكُمْ بِهِ جَنَّاتٍ مِنْ نَخِيلٍ وَأَعْنَابٍ لَكُمْ فِيهَا فَوَاكِهُ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ"

Fa anshaanaa lakum bihee Jannaatim min nakheelinw wa a'naab; lakum feehaa fawaakihu kaseeratunw wa minhaa taakuloon

We grow orchards of dates and grapes from it for you, Which yield fruits in abundance that you eat.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 19

"وَشَجَرَةً تَخْرُجُ مِنْ طُورِ سَيْنَاءَ تَنْبُتُ بِالدُّهْنِ وَصِبْغٍ لِلْآكِلِينَ"

Wa shajaratan takhruju min Toori Sainaaa'a tambutu bidduhni wa sibghil lil aakileen

The tree that grows on Mount Sinai yields oil and seasoning for those who eat.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 20

"وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ فِي الْأَنْعَامِ لَعِبْرَةً ۖ نُسْقِيكُمْ مِمَّا فِي بُطُونِهَا وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَنَافِعُ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ"

Wa inna lakum fil an'aami la'ibrah; nusqeekum mimmaa fee butoonihaa wa lakum feehaa manaafi'u kaseeratunw wa minhaa taakuloon

There are lessons for you in the cattle from whose bellies We give you milk to drink, and there are other advantages that you derive from them, and some of them you eat;

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 21

"وَعَلَيْهَا وَعَلَى الْفُلْكِ تُحْمَلُونَ"

Wa 'alaihaa wa'alal fulki tuhmaloon (section 1)

And you are carried on them and on boats.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 22

"وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ فَقَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُمْ مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ ۖ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ"

Wa laqad arsalnaa Noohan ilaa qawmihee faqaala yaa qawmi'budul laaha maa lakum min ilahin ghairuhoo afalaa tattaqoon

We sent Noah to his people. He said: "O my people, worship God, for you have no other god but He. Will you not take heed for yourselves?"

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 23

"فَقَالَ الْمَلَأُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ قَوْمِهِ مَا هَٰذَا إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِثْلُكُمْ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَتَفَضَّلَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَأَنْزَلَ مَلَائِكَةً مَا سَمِعْنَا بِهَٰذَا فِي آبَائِنَا الْأَوَّلِينَ"

Faqaalal mala'ul lazeena kafaroo min qawmihee maa haazaaa illaa basharum mislukum yureedu ai yatafaddala 'alaikum wa law shaaa'al laahu la anzala malaaa'ikatam maa sami'naa bihaazaa feee aabaaa'inal awwaleen

The chiefs of his people, who did not believe, said: "He is only a man like you. He wishes to acquire ascendancy over you. If God had willed He would have sent down angels. We never heard this from our elders.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 24

"إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ بِهِ جِنَّةٌ فَتَرَبَّصُوا بِهِ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ"

In huwa illaa rajulum bihee jinnatun fatarabbasoo bihee hattan heen

He is only a man possessed; so wait and watch him for a time."

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 25

"قَالَ رَبِّ انْصُرْنِي بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ"

Qaala Rabbin surnee bimaa kazzaboon

"O my Lord," prayed (Noah), "help me against them, for they accuse me of lies."

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 26

"فَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْهِ أَنِ اصْنَعِ الْفُلْكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا فَإِذَا جَاءَ أَمْرُنَا وَفَارَ التَّنُّورُ ۙ فَاسْلُكْ فِيهَا مِنْ كُلٍّ زَوْجَيْنِ اثْنَيْنِ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا مَنْ سَبَقَ عَلَيْهِ الْقَوْلُ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَلَا تُخَاطِبْنِي فِي الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا ۖ إِنَّهُمْ مُغْرَقُونَ"

Fa awhainaaa ilaihi anis na'il fulka bi a'yuninaa wa wahyinaa fa izaa jaaa'a amrunaa wa faarat tannooru fasluk feehaa min kullin zawjainis naini wa ahlaka illaa man sabaqa 'alaihil qawlu minhum wa laa tukhaat ibnee fil lazeena zalamooo innaahum mughraqoon

So We asked him to build the ark under Our eyes and guidance, (and said): "When Our command is issued and the source of water boils over, put a pair of every species in it, and your family except those for whom Our sentence has been passed already; and do not speak to Me for those who are wicked: They will be drowned.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 27

"فَإِذَا اسْتَوَيْتَ أَنْتَ وَمَنْ مَعَكَ عَلَى الْفُلْكِ فَقُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي نَجَّانَا مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ"

Fa izas tawaita ata wa mam ma'aka 'alal fulki faqulil hamdu lillaahil lazee najjaanaa minal qawmiz zalimeen

When you and those with you have boarded the ark, say: ?All praise be to God who has delivered us from the people who were sinful.?

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 28

"وَقُلْ رَبِّ أَنْزِلْنِي مُنْزَلًا مُبَارَكًا وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الْمُنْزِلِينَ"

Wa qur Rabbi anzilnee munzalam mubaarakanw wa Anta khairul munzileen

And say: ?O Lord, disembark me in a welcome place; You are the best of deliverers.?

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 29

"إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ وَإِنْ كُنَّا لَمُبْتَلِينَ"

Inna fee zaalika la Aayaatinw wa in kunnaa lamubtaleen

There were surely signs in this; We will surely put you to the test.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 30

"ثُمَّ أَنْشَأْنَا مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ قَرْنًا آخَرِينَ"

Summaa anshaana mim ba'dihim qarnan aakhareen

After them We raised a new generation.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 31

"فَأَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا مِنْهُمْ أَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُمْ مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ ۖ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ"

Fa arsalnaa feehim Rasoolam minhum ani'budul laaha maa lakum min ilaahin ghairuhoo afalaa tattaqoon (section 2)

Then We sent to them an apostle from among them (who said): "Worship God, for you have no other god but He. Will you not take heed and fear God?"

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 32

"وَقَالَ الْمَلَأُ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَكَذَّبُوا بِلِقَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ وَأَتْرَفْنَاهُمْ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا مَا هَٰذَا إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِثْلُكُمْ يَأْكُلُ مِمَّا تَأْكُلُونَ مِنْهُ وَيَشْرَبُ مِمَّا تَشْرَبُونَ"

Wa qaalal mala-u min qawmihil lazeena kafaroo wa kazzaboo bi liqaaa'il Aakhirati wa atrafnaahum fil hayaatid dunyaa maa haazaaa illaa basharum mislukum yaakulu mimmaa taakuloona minhu wa yashrabu mimmaa tashraboon

The chiefs of the people who did not believe and denied the life to come, though We had given them good things of this life to enjoy, (said): "He is only a mortal like you. He eats as you do, and drinks as you drink.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 33

"وَلَئِنْ أَطَعْتُمْ بَشَرًا مِثْلَكُمْ إِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَخَاسِرُونَ"

Wa la'in at'atum basharam mislakum innakum izal lakhaasiroon

So if you follow a man like yourself you will certainly be doomed.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 34

"أَيَعِدُكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ إِذَا مِتُّمْ وَكُنْتُمْ تُرَابًا وَعِظَامًا أَنَّكُمْ مُخْرَجُونَ"

A-Ya'idukum annakum izaa mittum wa kuntum turaabanw wa izaaman annakum mukhrajoon

Does he give you a promise that when you are dead and turned to dust and bones, you will be raised to life again?

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 35

"۞ هَيْهَاتَ هَيْهَاتَ لِمَا تُوعَدُونَ"

Haihaata haihaata limaa too'adoon

How far-fetched what you are promised;

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 36

"إِنْ هِيَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا الدُّنْيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحْيَا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَبْعُوثِينَ"

In hiya illaa hayaatunad dunyaa namootu wa nahyaa wa maa nahnu bimab'ooseen

There is only the life of this world: We die and we live: there is no rising from the dead for us.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 37

"إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ افْتَرَىٰ عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا وَمَا نَحْنُ لَهُ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ"

In huwa illaa rajulunif taraa 'alal laahi kazibanw wa maa nahnuu lahoo bimu'mineen

He is just a man who invents a lie about God; we cannot believe in him."

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 38

"قَالَ رَبِّ انْصُرْنِي بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ"

Qaala Rabbin surnee bimaa kazzaboon

(The apostle prayed): "O Lord, deliver me, for they accuse me of lies."

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 39

"قَالَ عَمَّا قَلِيلٍ لَيُصْبِحُنَّ نَادِمِينَ"

Qaala 'ammaa qaleelil la yusbihunna naadimeen

Answered (the Lord): "They shall wake up repenting soon."

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 40

"فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّيْحَةُ بِالْحَقِّ فَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ غُثَاءً ۚ فَبُعْدًا لِلْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ"

Fa akhazat humus saihatu bilhaqqi faja'alnaahum ghusaaa'aa; fabu;dal lilqaw miz zaalimeen

So they were rightly seized by a mighty blast; and We turned them into mouldy rubbish: A good riddance of the wicked people!

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 41

"ثُمَّ أَنْشَأْنَا مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ قُرُونًا آخَرِينَ"

Summa anshaanaa mim ba'dihim quroonan aakhareen

Then after them We raised other generations.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 42

"مَا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ"

Maa tasbiqu min ummatin ajalahaa wa maa yastaakhiroon

No nation can live beyond its allotted time, or lag behind.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 43

"ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلَنَا تَتْرَىٰ ۖ كُلَّ مَا جَاءَ أُمَّةً رَسُولُهَا كَذَّبُوهُ ۚ فَأَتْبَعْنَا بَعْضَهُمْ بَعْضًا وَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ أَحَادِيثَ ۚ فَبُعْدًا لِقَوْمٍ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ"

Summa arsalnaa Rusulanaa tatraa kulla maa jaaa'a ummatar Rasooluhaa kazzabooh; fa atba'naa ba'dahum ba'danw wa ja'alnaahum ahaadees; fabu'dal liqawmil laa yu'minoon

Then We sent Our apostles one after the other. Every time an apostle came to a people they denied him. So We made one follow the other (to its doom), and turned them into bygone tales. Cursed be the people who do not believe!

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 44

"ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَأَخَاهُ هَارُونَ بِآيَاتِنَا وَسُلْطَانٍ مُبِينٍ"

Summa arsalnaa Moosaa wa akhaahu Haaroona bi Aayaatinaa wa sultaanim mubeen

Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our miracles and clear proofs

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 45

"إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَئِهِ فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا وَكَانُوا قَوْمًا عَالِينَ"

Ilaa Fir'awna wa mala'ihee fastakbaroo wa kaanoo qawman 'aaleem

To Pharaoh and his nobles who behaved with arrogance, for they were a conceited lot,

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 46

"فَقَالُوا أَنُؤْمِنُ لِبَشَرَيْنِ مِثْلِنَا وَقَوْمُهُمَا لَنَا عَابِدُونَ"

Faqaaloo annu'minu libasharaini mislinaa wa qawmuhumaa lanaa 'aabidoon

And said: "Should we believe in two men like yourselves, whose people are our subjects?"

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 47

"فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَكَانُوا مِنَ الْمُهْلَكِينَ"

Fakazzaboohumaa fakaanoo minal mmuhlakeen

Then they accused them of lies, and joined the company of those who were destroyed.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 48

"وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ"

Wa laqad aatainaa Moosal Kitaaba la'allahum yahtadoon

And We gave the Book to Moses so that they may be guided.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 49

"وَجَعَلْنَا ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَأُمَّهُ آيَةً وَآوَيْنَاهُمَا إِلَىٰ رَبْوَةٍ ذَاتِ قَرَارٍ وَمَعِينٍ"

Wa ja'alnab na Maryama wa ummahooo aayatannw wa aawainaahumaaa ilaa rabwatin zaati qaraarinw wa ma'een (section 3)

And We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign, and gave them shelter on an elevated ground, sequestered, watered by a spring.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 50

"يَا أَيُّهَا الرُّسُلُ كُلُوا مِنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَاعْمَلُوا صَالِحًا ۖ إِنِّي بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ عَلِيمٌ"

Yaaa aiyuhar Rusulu kuloo minat taiyibaati wa'maloo saalihan innee bimaa ta'maloona 'Aleem

O you apostles, eat things that are clean, and do things that are good. We are surely cognisant of what you do.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 51

"وَإِنَّ هَٰذِهِ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَأَنَا رَبُّكُمْ فَاتَّقُونِ"

Wa inna haaziheee ummatukum ummatanw waahidatanw wa Ana Rabbukum fattaqoon

Verily this your order is one order, and I am your Lord, so fear Me.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 52

"فَتَقَطَّعُوا أَمْرَهُمْ بَيْنَهُمْ زُبُرًا ۖ كُلُّ حِزْبٍ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُونَ"

Fataqatta'ooo amrahum bainahum zuburaa; kullu hizbim bimaa ladaihim farihoon

But then they divided up their order into different creeds, each section rejoicing in what it had come to have.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 53

"فَذَرْهُمْ فِي غَمْرَتِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ"

Fazarhum fee ghamratihim hattaa heen

So leave them to their ignorance for a time.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 54

"أَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّمَا نُمِدُّهُمْ بِهِ مِنْ مَالٍ وَبَنِينَ"

A-yahsaboona annnamaa numiduhum bihee mimmaalinw wa baneen

Do they think that by increasing their wealth and children

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 55

"نُسَارِعُ لَهُمْ فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ ۚ بَلْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ"

Nusaari'u lahum fil khairaat; bal laa yash'uroon

We are hastening to reward them for good deeds? No. They do not comprehend.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 56

"إِنَّ الَّذِينَ هُمْ مِنْ خَشْيَةِ رَبِّهِمْ مُشْفِقُونَ"

Innal lazeena hum min khashyati Rabbihim mushfiqoon

Surely those who live in awe of their Lord,

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 57

"وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ بِآيَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ"

Wallazeena hum bi Aayaati Rabbihim yu'minoon

Who believe in their Lord?s revelations,

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 58

"وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ بِرَبِّهِمْ لَا يُشْرِكُونَ"

Wallazeena hum bi Rabbihim laa yushrikoon

Who do not associate any one with their Lord,

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 59

"وَالَّذِينَ يُؤْتُونَ مَا آتَوْا وَقُلُوبُهُمْ وَجِلَةٌ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ رَاجِعُونَ"

Wallazeena yu'toona maaa aataw wa quloobuhum wajilatun annahum ilaa Rabbihim raaji'oon

Who give whatsoever they give (in His way), and their hearts tremble with fear that they have to go back to their Lord,

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 60

"أُولَٰئِكَ يُسَارِعُونَ فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ وَهُمْ لَهَا سَابِقُونَ"

Ulaaa'ika yusaari'oona fil khairaati wa hum lahaa saabiqoon

Are the ones who hasten to goodness and outpace the others.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 61

"وَلَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا ۖ وَلَدَيْنَا كِتَابٌ يَنْطِقُ بِالْحَقِّ ۚ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ"

Wa laa nukallifu nafsan illaa wus'ahaa wa ladainaa kitaabuny yantiqu bilhaqqi wa ahum la yuzlamoon

We do not burden a soul beyond capacity, for We have a record that tells the truth. No wrong will be done to any one.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 62

"بَلْ قُلُوبُهُمْ فِي غَمْرَةٍ مِنْ هَٰذَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْمَالٌ مِنْ دُونِ ذَٰلِكَ هُمْ لَهَا عَامِلُونَ"

Bal quloobuhum fee ghamratim min haazaa wa lahum a'maalum min dooni zaalika hum lahaa 'aamiloon

Yet their hearts are oblivious of this; and besides, they are busy with other things,

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 63

"حَتَّىٰ إِذَا أَخَذْنَا مُتْرَفِيهِمْ بِالْعَذَابِ إِذَا هُمْ يَجْأَرُونَ"

Hattaaa izaaa akhaznaa mutrafeehim bil'azaabi izaa hum yaj'aroon

So that when We seize the affluent among them with affliction, they will begin to implore for help.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 64

"لَا تَجْأَرُوا الْيَوْمَ ۖ إِنَّكُمْ مِنَّا لَا تُنْصَرُونَ"

Laa taj'arul yawma innakum minnaa laa tunsaroon

"Do not supplicate for help today; you will not be rescued by Us;

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 65

"قَدْ كَانَتْ آيَاتِي تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنْتُمْ عَلَىٰ أَعْقَابِكُمْ تَنْكِصُونَ"

Qad kaanat Aayaatee tutlaa 'alaikum fakuntum 'alaaa a'qaabikum tankisoon

For when My revelations were read out to you, you turned back on your heels and fled

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 66

"مُسْتَكْبِرِينَ بِهِ سَامِرًا تَهْجُرُونَ"

Mustakbireena bihee saamiran tahjuroon

Insolently, treating them like tales told at night."

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 67

"أَفَلَمْ يَدَّبَّرُوا الْقَوْلَ أَمْ جَاءَهُمْ مَا لَمْ يَأْتِ آبَاءَهُمُ الْأَوَّلِينَ"

Afalam yaddabbarrul qawla am jaaa'ahum maa lam yaati aabaaa'ahumul awwaleen

Why did they not think over the message? Or has something come to them which had not come to their fathers?

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 68

"أَمْ لَمْ يَعْرِفُوا رَسُولَهُمْ فَهُمْ لَهُ مُنْكِرُونَ"

Am lam ya'rifoo Rasoolahum fahum lahoo munkiroon

Or did they not recognise their apostle, and rejected him?

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 69

"أَمْ يَقُولُونَ بِهِ جِنَّةٌ ۚ بَلْ جَاءَهُمْ بِالْحَقِّ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ لِلْحَقِّ كَارِهُونَ"

Am yaqooloona bihee jinnnah; bal jaaa'ahum bilhaqqi wa aksaruhum lil haqqi kaarihoon

Or do they say that he is possessed? In fact, he has brought the truth to them, but most of them abhor the truth.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 70

"وَلَوِ اتَّبَعَ الْحَقُّ أَهْوَاءَهُمْ لَفَسَدَتِ السَّمَاوَاتُ وَالْأَرْضُ وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ ۚ بَلْ أَتَيْنَاهُمْ بِذِكْرِهِمْ فَهُمْ عَنْ ذِكْرِهِمْ مُعْرِضُونَ"

Wa lawit taba'al haqqu ahwaaa'ahum lafasadatis samaawaatu wal ardu wa man feehinnn; bal atainaahum bizikrihim fahum 'an zikrihim mu'ridoon

Had truth been subject to their whims the heavens and the earth and all those within them would have been depraved. In fact We had sent them their reminder, but they turned away from good advice.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 71

"أَمْ تَسْأَلُهُمْ خَرْجًا فَخَرَاجُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ ۖ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ الرَّازِقِينَ"

Am tas'aluhum kharjan fakharaaju Rabbika khairunw wa Huwa khairur raaziqeen

Or do you ask of them any tribute? In that case the tribute of your Lord is better, for He is the best of providers.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 72

"وَإِنَّكَ لَتَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ"

Wa innaka latad'oohum ilaa Siraatim Mustaqeem

You are surely calling them to the right path.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 73

"وَإِنَّ الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْآخِرَةِ عَنِ الصِّرَاطِ لَنَاكِبُونَ"

Wa innnal lazeena laa yu'minoona bil Aakhirati 'anis siraati lanaakiboon

But those who believe not in the Hereafter turn away from the straight path.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 74

"۞ وَلَوْ رَحِمْنَاهُمْ وَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِمْ مِنْ ضُرٍّ لَلَجُّوا فِي طُغْيَانِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ"

Wa law rahimnaahum wa kashafnaa maa bihim min durril lalajjoo fee tughyaanihim ya'mahoon

If We took compassion on them and removed the affliction they are in, they would only wander lost in confusion.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 75

"وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَاهُمْ بِالْعَذَابِ فَمَا اسْتَكَانُوا لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ"

Wa laqad akhaznaahum bil'azaabi famastakaanoo li Rabbihim wa maa yatadarra'oon

We had seized them with the punishment, but they did not bow before their Lord nor turned to Him in humility,

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 76

"حَتَّىٰ إِذَا فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ بَابًا ذَا عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍ إِذَا هُمْ فِيهِ مُبْلِسُونَ"

Hattaaa izaa fatahnaa 'alaihim baaban zaa 'azaabin shadeedin izaa hum feehi mublisoon (section 4)

So that when at last We open up the gate of severe punishment on them they will be overwhelmed with despair.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 77

"وَهُوَ الَّذِي أَنْشَأَ لَكُمُ السَّمْعَ وَالْأَبْصَارَ وَالْأَفْئِدَةَ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَا تَشْكُرُونَ"

Wa Huwal lazeee ansha a-lakumus sam'a wal absaara wal af'idah; qaleelam maa tashkuroon

It is He who gave you hearing, sight, and hearts, but only few of you give thanks.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 78

"وَهُوَ الَّذِي ذَرَأَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ"

Wa Huwal lazee zara akum fil ardi wa ilaihi tuhsharoon

It is He who multiplied you on the earth, and it will be before Him that you will be gathered.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 79

"وَهُوَ الَّذِي يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَلَهُ اخْتِلَافُ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ"

Wa Huwal lazee yuhyee wa yumeetu wa lahukh tilaaful laili wannahaar; afalaa ta'qiloon

It is He who gives you life and death, and His the alternation of night and day. Even then you do not understand,

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 80

"بَلْ قَالُوا مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ الْأَوَّلُونَ"

Bal qaaloo misla maa qaalal awwaloon

And talk as did the people of old.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 81

"قَالُوا أَإِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَامًا أَإِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ"

Qaalooo 'a-izaa mitnaa wa kunnaa turaabanw wa 'izaaman 'a-innaa lamab 'oosoon

They say: "When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we be raised to life again?

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 82

"لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا نَحْنُ وَآبَاؤُنَا هَٰذَا مِنْ قَبْلُ إِنْ هَٰذَا إِلَّا أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ"

Laqad wu'idnaa nahnu wa aabaaa'unaa haazaa min qablu in haazaaa illaaa asaateerul awwaleen

We and our fathers were promised this before; it is nothing but ancient lore!"

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 83

"قُلْ لِمَنِ الْأَرْضُ وَمَنْ فِيهَا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ"

Qul limanil ardu wa man feehaaa in kuntum ta'lamoon

Say: "To whom does the earth and whosoever is upon it then belong, if you know?"

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 84

"سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ"

Sa-yaqooloona lillaah; qul afalaa tazakkkaroon

They will say: "To God." Say: "Then why do you not bethink yourselves?"

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 85

"قُلْ مَنْ رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ السَّبْعِ وَرَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ"

Qul mar Rabbus samaawaatis sab'i wa Rabbul 'Arshil 'Azeem

Say: "Then who is the Lord of the seven skies? And who is the Lord of the mighty Throne?"

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 86

"سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ"

Sa yaqooloona lillaah; qul afalaa tattaqoon

They will say: "God." Say: "Then why do you not obey and fear Him?"

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 87

"قُلْ مَنْ بِيَدِهِ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَهُوَ يُجِيرُ وَلَا يُجَارُ عَلَيْهِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ"

Qul mam bi yadihee malakootu kulli shai'inw wa Huwa yujeeru wa laa yujaaru 'alaihi in kuntum ta'lamoon

Say: "Whose is the sovereignty over all things, who protects, and against whom there is no protection? {Answer) if you have knowledge."

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 88

"سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ فَأَنَّىٰ تُسْحَرُونَ"

Sa yaqooloona lillaah; qul fa annaa tus haroon

They will say: "God?s." Say: "Then why are you so deluded?"

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 89

"بَلْ أَتَيْنَاهُمْ بِالْحَقِّ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ"

Bal atainaahum bil haqqi wa innahum lakaaziboon

In fact We have sent the truth to them, but they are liars.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 90

"مَا اتَّخَذَ اللَّهُ مِنْ وَلَدٍ وَمَا كَانَ مَعَهُ مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ ۚ إِذًا لَذَهَبَ كُلُّ إِلَٰهٍ بِمَا خَلَقَ وَلَعَلَا بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ ۚ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ"

Mat takhazal laahu minw waladinw wa maa kaana ma'ahoo min ilaah; izal lazahaba kullu ilaahim bimaa khalaqa wa la'alaa ba'duhum 'alaa ba'd; Subhaannal laahi 'ammaa yasifoon

God has not begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Had this been so, each god would have taken away what he had created with him, and some would have risen over the others. God is much too glorious for what they attribute (to Him)!

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 91

"عَالِمِ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ فَتَعَالَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ"

Aalimil Ghaibi wash shahhaadati fata'aalaa 'ammaa yushrikoon (section 5)

The knower of the absent and the present, too exalted is He for what they associate (with Him)!

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 92

"قُلْ رَبِّ إِمَّا تُرِيَنِّي مَا يُوعَدُونَ"

Qur Rabbi immmaa turiyannee maa yoo'adoon

Say: "O Lord, if I am made to see what has been promised them,

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 93

"رَبِّ فَلَا تَجْعَلْنِي فِي الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ"

Rabbi falaa taj'alnee fil qawmiz zaalimeen

Then do not, O Lord, put me among the sinners."

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 94

"وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰ أَنْ نُرِيَكَ مَا نَعِدُهُمْ لَقَادِرُونَ"

Wa innaa 'alaaa an nuriyaka maa na'iduhum laqaadiroon

We have certainly the power to make you see what We have promised them.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 95

"ادْفَعْ بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ السَّيِّئَةَ ۚ نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَصِفُونَ"

Idfa' billate hiya ahsanus saiyi'ah; nahnu a'lamu bimaa yasifoon

Dispel evil with what is good. We know well what they attribute (to Us).

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 96

"وَقُلْ رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزَاتِ الشَّيَاطِينِ"

Wa qur Rabbi a'oozu bika min hamazaatish Shayaateen

Say: "My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the evil promptings of the devils.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 97

"وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَنْ يَحْضُرُونِ"

Wa a'oozu bika Rabbi ai-yahduroon

I seek refuge in You lest they come to me."

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 98

"حَتَّىٰ إِذَا جَاءَ أَحَدَهُمُ الْمَوْتُ قَالَ رَبِّ ارْجِعُونِ"

Hattaaa izaa jaaa'a ahada humul mawtu qaala Rabbir ji'oon

(But the unbelievers will persist) until when death comes to one of them he will say: "O Lord, send me back again

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 99

"لَعَلِّي أَعْمَلُ صَالِحًا فِيمَا تَرَكْتُ ۚ كَلَّا ۚ إِنَّهَا كَلِمَةٌ هُوَ قَائِلُهَا ۖ وَمِنْ وَرَائِهِمْ بَرْزَخٌ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ"

La'alleee a'malu saalihan feemaa taraktu kallaa; innahaa kalimatun huwa qaaa'iluhaa wa minw waraaa'him barzakhun ilaa Yawmi yub'asoon

That I may do some good I did not do (in the world)." Not so. These are only words he utters. Behind them lies the intervening barrier (stretching) to the day of their resurrection.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 100

"فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ فَلَا أَنْسَابَ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَلَا يَتَسَاءَلُونَ"

Fa izaa nufikha fis Soori falaaa ansaaba bainahum yawma'izinw wa laa yatasaaa'aloon

When the trumpet blast is sounded no ties of lineage will hold among them, nor will they ask after one another.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 101

"فَمَنْ ثَقُلَتْ مَوَازِينُهُ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ"

Faman saqulat mawaazee nuhoo fa ulaaa'ika humul muflihoon

Only those whose scales are heavier in the balance will find happiness.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 102

"وَمَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَازِينُهُ فَأُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ خَسِرُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ فِي جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدُونَ"

Wa man khaffat mawaa zeenuhoo fa ulaaa'ikal lazeena khasiroon anfusahum fee Jahannnama khaalidoon

But those whose scales are lighter will perish and abide in Hell for ever.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 103

"تَلْفَحُ وُجُوهَهُمُ النَّارُ وَهُمْ فِيهَا كَالِحُونَ"

Talfahu wujoohahumun Naaru wa hum feehaa kaalihoon

Their faces will be scorched by flames, and they will grin and scowl within it.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 104

"أَلَمْ تَكُنْ آيَاتِي تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنْتُمْ بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ"

Alam takun Aayaatee tutlaa 'alaikum fakuntum bihaa tukazziboon

"Were not My messages read out to you? But you denied them."

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 105

"قَالُوا رَبَّنَا غَلَبَتْ عَلَيْنَا شِقْوَتُنَا وَكُنَّا قَوْمًا ضَالِّينَ"

Qaaloo Rabbanaa ghalabat 'alainaa shiqwatunaa wa kunnaa qawman daaalleen

They will say: "O Lord, our misery overwhelmed us, so we remained a people astray.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 106

"رَبَّنَا أَخْرِجْنَا مِنْهَا فَإِنْ عُدْنَا فَإِنَّا ظَالِمُونَ"

Rabbanaa akhrijnaa minhaa fa in 'udnaa fa innaa zaalimoon

Get us out of this, O Lord. If we transgress we will surely be sinful."

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 107

"قَالَ اخْسَئُوا فِيهَا وَلَا تُكَلِّمُونِ"

Qaalakh sa'oo feehaa wa laa tukallimoon

He will say: "Remain condemned in it, and do not speak to Me.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 108

"إِنَّهُ كَانَ فَرِيقٌ مِنْ عِبَادِي يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا آمَنَّا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الرَّاحِمِينَ"

Innahoo kaana fareequm min 'ibaadee yaqooloona Rabbanaaa aamannaa faghfir lanaa warhamnaa wa Anta khairur raahimeen

There was a section among My creatures that said: ?O Lord, we believe. Forgive us and have mercy upon us, for You are the best of the merciful.?

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 109

"فَاتَّخَذْتُمُوهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا حَتَّىٰ أَنْسَوْكُمْ ذِكْرِي وَكُنْتُمْ مِنْهُمْ تَضْحَكُونَ"

Fattakhaztumoohum sikhriyyan hattaaa ansawkum zikree wa kuntum minhum tadhakoon

But you ridiculed them. So much so that out of (spite) for them you forgot to remember Me and laughed at them.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 110

"إِنِّي جَزَيْتُهُمُ الْيَوْمَ بِمَا صَبَرُوا أَنَّهُمْ هُمُ الْفَائِزُونَ"

Inee jazaituhumul Yawma bimaa sabarooo annahum humul faaa'izoon

I have rewarded them this day for they were constant, and they have come to attainment."

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 111

"قَالَ كَمْ لَبِثْتُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ عَدَدَ سِنِينَ"

Qaala kam labistum fil ardi 'adada sineen

They will be asked: "How long did you live on the earth in terms of years?"

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 112

"قَالُوا لَبِثْنَا يَوْمًا أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍ فَاسْأَلِ الْعَادِّينَ"

Qaaloo labisnaa yawman aw ba'da yawmin fas'alil 'aaaddeen

They will say: "A day or less than a day. Ask the enumerators of numbers."

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 113

"قَالَ إِنْ لَبِثْتُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا ۖ لَوْ أَنَّكُمْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ"

Qaala il labistum illaa qaleelal law annakum kuntum ta'lamoon

He will say: "You stayed there only a moment, if you knew.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 114

"أَفَحَسِبْتُمْ أَنَّمَا خَلَقْنَاكُمْ عَبَثًا وَأَنَّكُمْ إِلَيْنَا لَا تُرْجَعُونَ"

Afahsibtum annamaa khalaqnaakum 'abasanw wa annakum ilainaa laa turja'oon

Do you think We created you for nothing, and that you will not return to Us?"

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 115

"فَتَعَالَى اللَّهُ الْمَلِكُ الْحَقُّ ۖ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْكَرِيمِ"

Fata'aalal laahul Malikul Haqq; laaa ilaaha illaa Huwa Rabbul 'Arshil Kareem

Exalted then be God, the King, the Real. There is no god but He, the Lord of the glorious throne.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 116

"وَمَنْ يَدْعُ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا آخَرَ لَا بُرْهَانَ لَهُ بِهِ فَإِنَّمَا حِسَابُهُ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِ ۚ إِنَّهُ لَا يُفْلِحُ الْكَافِرُونَ"

Wa mai yad'u ma'allaahi ilaahan aakhara laa burhaana lahoo bihee fa innnamaa hisaabuhoo 'inda Rabbih; innahoo laa yuflihul kaafiroon

Whoever worships another god apart from God, for which he holds no proof, will have to account for it before his Lord. Verily the unbelievers will not prosper.

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 117

"وَقُلْ رَبِّ اغْفِرْ وَارْحَمْ وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الرَّاحِمِينَ"

Wa qul Rabbigh fir warham wa Anta khairur raahimeen (section 6)

Say: "My Lord, forgive and have mercy. You are the best of the merciful."

Surah Number : 23 , Ayat Number : 118

" سُورَةٌ أَنْزَلْنَاهَا وَفَرَضْنَاهَا وَأَنْزَلْنَا فِيهَا آيَاتٍ بَيِّنَاتٍ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ

Sooratun anzalnaahaa wa faradnaahaa wa anzalnaa feehaaa Aayaatim baiyinaatil la'allakum tazakkaroon

WE HAVE REVEALED this Surah and made it obligatory as We have sent down clear injunctions in it that you may be warned.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 1

"الزَّانِيَةُ وَالزَّانِي فَاجْلِدُوا كُلَّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا مِائَةَ جَلْدَةٍ ۖ وَلَا تَأْخُذْكُمْ بِهِمَا رَأْفَةٌ فِي دِينِ اللَّهِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ ۖ وَلْيَشْهَدْ عَذَابَهُمَا طَائِفَةٌ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ"

Azzaaniyatu wazzaanee fajlidoo kulla waahidim minhumaa mi'ata jaldatinw wa laa taakhuzkum bihimaa raafatun fee deenil laahi in kuntum tu'minoona billaahi wal Yawmil Aakhiri wal yashhad 'azaabahumaa taaa'ifatum minal mu'mineen

The adulteress and adulterer should be flogged a hundred lashes each, and no pity for them should deter you from the law of God, if you believe in God and the Last Day; and the punishment should be witnessed by a body of believers.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 2

"الزَّانِي لَا يَنْكِحُ إِلَّا زَانِيَةً أَوْ مُشْرِكَةً وَالزَّانِيَةُ لَا يَنْكِحُهَا إِلَّا زَانٍ أَوْ مُشْرِكٌ ۚ وَحُرِّمَ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ"

Azzaanee laa yankihu illaa zaaniyatan aw mushrikatanw wazzaaniyatu laa yankihuhaaa illaa zaanin aw mushrik; wa hurrima zaalika 'alal mu'mineen

The adulterer can marry no one but an adulteress or his partner (in the act) , and the adulteress cannot marry any but an adulterer or her partner (in the act). This is forbidden the believers,

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 3

"وَالَّذِينَ يَرْمُونَ الْمُحْصَنَاتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَأْتُوا بِأَرْبَعَةِ شُهَدَاءَ فَاجْلِدُوهُمْ ثَمَانِينَ جَلْدَةً وَلَا تَقْبَلُوا لَهُمْ شَهَادَةً أَبَدًا ۚ وَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ"

Wallazeena yarmoonal muhsanaati summa lam yaatoo bi-arba'ati shuhadaaa'a fajlidoohum samaaneena jaldatanw wa laa taqbaloo lahum shahaadatan abadaa; wa ulaaa'ika humul faasiqoon

Those who defame chaste women and do not bring four witnesses should be punished with eighty lashes, and their testimony should not be accepted afterwards, for they are profligates,

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 4

"إِلَّا الَّذِينَ تَابُوا مِنْ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ وَأَصْلَحُوا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ"

Illal lazeena taaboo mim ba'di zaalika wa aslahoo fa innal laaha Ghafoorur Raheem

Except those who repent after this and reform; and God is surely forgiving and kind.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 5

"وَالَّذِينَ يَرْمُونَ أَزْوَاجَهُمْ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُمْ شُهَدَاءُ إِلَّا أَنْفُسُهُمْ فَشَهَادَةُ أَحَدِهِمْ أَرْبَعُ شَهَادَاتٍ بِاللَّهِ ۙ إِنَّهُ لَمِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ"

Wallazeena yarmoona azwaajahum wa lam yakul lahum shuhadaaa'u illaaa anfusuhum fashahaadatu ahadihim arb'u shahaadaatim billaahi innahoo laminas saadiqeen

Those who accuse their wives and do not have any witnesses except themselves, should swear four times in the name of God, the testimony of each such person being that he is speaking the truth,

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 6

"وَالَّذِينَ يَرْمُونَ أَزْوَاجَهُمْ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُمْ شُهَدَاءُ إِلَّا أَنْفُسُهُمْ فَشَهَادَةُ أَحَدِهِمْ أَرْبَعُ شَهَادَاتٍ بِاللَّهِ ۙ إِنَّهُ لَمِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ"

Wal khaamisatu anna la'natal laahi 'alaihi in kaana minal kaazibeen

And (swear) a fifth time that if he tell a lie the curse of God be on him.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 7

"وَيَدْرَأُ عَنْهَا الْعَذَابَ أَنْ تَشْهَدَ أَرْبَعَ شَهَادَاتٍ بِاللَّهِ ۙ إِنَّهُ لَمِنَ الْكَاذِبِينَ"

Wa yadra'u anhal 'azaaba an tashhada arba'a shahaa daatim billaahi innahoo laminal kaazibeen

The woman?s punishment can be averted if she swears four times by God as testimony that her husband is a liar,

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 8

"وَالْخَامِسَةَ أَنَّ غَضَبَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهَا إِنْ كَانَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ"

Wal khaamisata anna ghadabal laahi 'alaihaaa in kaana minas saadiqeen

Her fifth oath being that the curse of God be on her if her husband should be speaking the truth.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 9

"وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ تَوَّابٌ حَكِيمٌ"

Wa law laa fadlul laahi 'alaikum wa rahmatuhoo wa annal laaha Tawwaabun Hakeem (section 1)

(This would not have been possible) if the grace and benevolence of God were not upon you; but God is compassionate and wise.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 10

"إِنَّ الَّذِينَ جَاءُوا بِالْإِفْكِ عُصْبَةٌ مِنْكُمْ ۚ لَا تَحْسَبُوهُ شَرًّا لَكُمْ ۖ بَلْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ ۚ لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مِنْهُمْ مَا اكْتَسَبَ مِنَ الْإِثْمِ ۚ وَالَّذِي تَوَلَّىٰ كِبْرَهُ مِنْهُمْ لَهُ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ"

Innal lazeena jaaa'oo bilifki 'usbatum minkum; laa tahsaboohu sharral lakum bal huwa khairul lakum; likul limri'im minhum mak tasaba minal-ism; wallazee tawallaa kibrahoo minhum lahoo 'azaabun 'azeem

Those who spread lies were a clique among you. Do not think that it was bad for you: In fact it has been good for you. Each of them will pay for the sin he has committed, and he who had greater share (of guilt) will suffer grievous punishment.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 11

"لَوْلَا إِذْ سَمِعْتُمُوهُ ظَنَّ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتُ بِأَنْفُسِهِمْ خَيْرًا وَقَالُوا هَٰذَا إِفْكٌ مُبِينٌ"

Law laaa iz sami'tumoohu zannal mu'minoona walmu'minaatu bi anfusihim khairanw wa qaaloo haazaaa ifkum mmubeen

Why did the faithful men and women not think well of their people when they heard this, and said: "This is a clear lie?"

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 12

"لَوْلَا جَاءُوا عَلَيْهِ بِأَرْبَعَةِ شُهَدَاءَ ۚ فَإِذْ لَمْ يَأْتُوا بِالشُّهَدَاءِ فَأُولَٰئِكَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ هُمُ الْكَاذِبُونَ"

Law laa jaaa'oo 'alaihi bi-arba'ati shuhadaaa'; fa iz lam yaatoo bishshuhadaaa'i fa ulaaa 'ika 'indal laahi humul kaaziboon

Why did they not bring four witnesses (in support of their charge)? And since they did not bring the four witnesses they are themselves liars in the sight of God.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 13

"وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ لَمَسَّكُمْ فِي مَا أَفَضْتُمْ فِيهِ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ"

Wa law laa fadlul laahi 'alaikum wa rahmatuhoo fiddunyaa wal aakhirati lamassakum fee maaa afadtum feehi 'azaabun 'azeem

Were it not for the grace of God and His mercy upon you in this world and the next, you would have suffered a great affliction for the false accusation.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 14

"إِذْ تَلَقَّوْنَهُ بِأَلْسِنَتِكُمْ وَتَقُولُونَ بِأَفْوَاهِكُمْ مَا لَيْسَ لَكُمْ بِهِ عِلْمٌ وَتَحْسَبُونَهُ هَيِّنًا وَهُوَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ عَظِيمٌ"

Iz talaqqawnahoo bi alsinatikum wa taqooloona bi afwaahikum maa laisa lakum bihee 'ilmunw wa tahsaboo nahoo haiyinanw wa huwa 'indal laahi 'azeem

When you talked about it and said what you did not know, and took it lightly -- though in the sight of God it was serious --

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 15

"وَلَوْلَا إِذْ سَمِعْتُمُوهُ قُلْتُمْ مَا يَكُونُ لَنَا أَنْ نَتَكَلَّمَ بِهَٰذَا سُبْحَانَكَ هَٰذَا بُهْتَانٌ عَظِيمٌ"

Wa law laaa iz sami'tu moohu qultum maa yakoonu lanaaa an natakallama bihaazaa Subhaanaka haaza buhtaanun 'azeem

Why did you not say when you heard it: "It is not for us to speak of it? God preserve us, it is a great calumny!"

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 16

"يَعِظُكُمُ اللَّهُ أَنْ تَعُودُوا لِمِثْلِهِ أَبَدًا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ"

Ya'izukumul laahu an ta'oodoo limisliheee abadan in kuntum mu'mineen

God counsels you not to do a thing like this, if you are believers.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 17

"وَيُبَيِّنُ اللَّهُ لَكُمُ الْآيَاتِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ"

Wa yubaiyinul laahu lakumul Aayaat; wallaahu 'Aleemun Hakeem

God explains His commands to you clearly, for God is all-knowing and all-wise.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 18

"إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُحِبُّونَ أَنْ تَشِيعَ الْفَاحِشَةُ فِي الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنْتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ"

Innal lazeena yuhibboona an tashee'al faahishatu fil lazeena aamanoo lahum 'azaabun aleemun fid dunyaa wal Aakhirah; wallaahu ya'lamu wa antum laa ta'lamoon

There is painful punishment in this world and the next for those who like that immorality should spread among the believers, for God knows and you do not know.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 19

"وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ رَءُوفٌ رَحِيمٌ"

Wa law laa fadlul laahi 'alaikum wa rahmatuhoo wa annal laaha Ra'oofur Raheem (section 2)

But for the grace of God and His mercy (much harm would have been done); yet God is compassionate and kind.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 20

"۞ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّبِعُوا خُطُوَاتِ الشَّيْطَانِ ۚ وَمَنْ يَتَّبِعْ خُطُوَاتِ الشَّيْطَانِ فَإِنَّهُ يَأْمُرُ بِالْفَحْشَاءِ وَالْمُنْكَرِ ۚ وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُ مَا زَكَىٰ مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ أَبَدًا وَلَٰكِنَّ اللَّهَ يُزَكِّي مَنْ يَشَاءُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ"

Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanoo laa tattabi'oo khutuwaatish Shaitaan; wa many-yattabi' khutuwaatish Shaitaani fa innahoo yaamuru bilfahshaaa'i walmunkar; wa law laa fadlul laahi 'alaikum wa rahmatuhoo maa zakaa minkum min ahadin abadanw wa laakinnal laaha yuzakkee many-yashaaa'; wallaahu Samee'un 'Aleem

O you who believe, do not follow in the footsteps of Satan, for he who follows in the footsteps of Satan will be induced by him to what is shameful and forbidden. But for the grace of God and His mercy upon you none of you would have escaped undefiled; but God makes whosoever He will grow in goodness, for God is all-hearing and all-knowing.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 21

"وَلَا يَأْتَلِ أُولُو الْفَضْلِ مِنْكُمْ وَالسَّعَةِ أَنْ يُؤْتُوا أُولِي الْقُرْبَىٰ وَالْمَسَاكِينَ وَالْمُهَاجِرِينَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ۖ وَلْيَعْفُوا وَلْيَصْفَحُوا ۗ أَلَا تُحِبُّونَ أَنْ يَغْفِرَ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ"

Wa laa yaatali ulul fadli minkum wassa'ati ai yu'tooo ulil qurbaa walmasaakeena walmuhaajireena fee sabeelillaahi walya'foo walyasfahoo; alaa tuhibboona ai yaghfiral laahu lakum; wal laahu Ghafoorur Raheem

Let not those who are men of plenty and means among you swear that they will not give to their relatives and the poor and those who leave their homes in the service of God. They should forgive and overlook (their failings). Would you not like God to forgive you? And God is forgiving and kind.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 22

"إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَرْمُونَ الْمُحْصَنَاتِ الْغَافِلَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ لُعِنُوا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ"

Innal lazeena yarmoonal muhsanaatil ghaafilaatil mu'minaati lu'inoo fid dunyaa wal Aakhirati wa lahum 'azaabun 'azeem

Verily those who blaspheme unsuspecting chaste believing women will be cursed in this world and the next; and for them there will be severe punishment.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 23

"يَوْمَ تَشْهَدُ عَلَيْهِمْ أَلْسِنَتُهُمْ وَأَيْدِيهِمْ وَأَرْجُلُهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ"

Yawma tashhhadu 'alaihim alsinatuhum wa aideehim wa arjuluhum bimaa kaanoo ya'maloon

The day their tongues and hands and feet bear witness to what they had done,

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 24

"يَوْمَئِذٍ يُوَفِّيهِمُ اللَّهُ دِينَهُمُ الْحَقَّ وَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْحَقُّ الْمُبِينُ"

Yawma'iziny yuwaf feehimul laahu deenahumul haqqa wa ya'lamoona annal laaha Huwal Haqqul Mubeen

God will pay them on that day their just due in full, and they will come to know that God is the tangible Reality.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 25

"الْخَبِيثَاتُ لِلْخَبِيثِينَ وَالْخَبِيثُونَ لِلْخَبِيثَاتِ ۖ وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ لِلطَّيِّبِينَ وَالطَّيِّبُونَ لِلطَّيِّبَاتِ ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ مُبَرَّءُونَ مِمَّا يَقُولُونَ ۖ لَهُمْ مَغْفِرَةٌ وَرِزْقٌ كَرِيمٌ"

Alkhabeesaatu lilkha beeseena walkhabeesoona lilkhabeesaati wattaiyibaatu littaiyibeena wattaiyiboona littaiyibaat; ulaaa'ika mubar ra'oona maimma yaqooloona lahum maghfiratunw wa rizqun kareem (section 3)

Bad women deserve bad men, and bad men are for bad women; but good women are for good men, and good men for good women, for they are innocent of what people say. There is forgiveness for them and a gracious provision.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 26

"يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَدْخُلُوا بُيُوتًا غَيْرَ بُيُوتِكُمْ حَتَّىٰ تَسْتَأْنِسُوا وَتُسَلِّمُوا عَلَىٰ أَهْلِهَا ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ"

Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanoo laa tadkhuloo buyootan ghaira buyootikum hatta tastaanisoo wa tusallimoo 'allaa ahlihaa; zaalikum khairul lakum la'allakum tazakkaroon

O you who believe, do not enter other houses except yours without first asking permission and saluting the inmates. This is better for you: You may haply take heed.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 27

"فَإِنْ لَمْ تَجِدُوا فِيهَا أَحَدًا فَلَا تَدْخُلُوهَا حَتَّىٰ يُؤْذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ وَإِنْ قِيلَ لَكُمُ ارْجِعُوا فَارْجِعُوا ۖ هُوَ أَزْكَىٰ لَكُمْ ۚ وَاللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ عَلِيمٌ"

Fa il lam tajidoo feehaaa ahadan falaa tadkhuloohaa hattaa yu'zana lakum wa in qeela lakumurji'oo farji'oo huwa azkaa lakum; wallaahu bimaa ta'maloona 'Aleem

If you find that no one is in, then do not enter unless you have received permission. If you are asked to go away, turn back. That is proper for you. God is aware of what you do.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 28

"لَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ أَنْ تَدْخُلُوا بُيُوتًا غَيْرَ مَسْكُونَةٍ فِيهَا مَتَاعٌ لَكُمْ ۚ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تُبْدُونَ وَمَا تَكْتُمُونَ"

Laisa 'alaikum junaahun ann tadkhuloo buyootan ghaira maskoonatin feeha mataa'ul lakum; wallaahu ya'lamu maa tubdoona wa maa taktumoon

There is no harm in going into uninhabited houses where there is some convenience for you, as God has knowledge of what you hide and what you disclose.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 29

"قُلْ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَغُضُّوا مِنْ أَبْصَارِهِمْ وَيَحْفَظُوا فُرُوجَهُمْ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ أَزْكَىٰ لَهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا يَصْنَعُونَ"

Qul lilmu' mineena yaghuuddoo min absaarihim wa yahfazoo furoojahum; zaalika azkaa lahum; innallaaha khabeerum bimaa yasna'oon

Tell the believing men to lower their eyes and guard their private parts. There is for them goodness in this. God is aware of what they do.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 30

"وَقُلْ لِلْمُؤْمِنَاتِ يَغْضُضْنَ مِنْ أَبْصَارِهِنَّ وَيَحْفَظْنَ فُرُوجَهُنَّ وَلَا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلَّا مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا ۖ وَلْيَضْرِبْنَ بِخُمُرِهِنَّ عَلَىٰ جُيُوبِهِنَّ ۖ وَلَا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلَّا لِبُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوْ آبَائِهِنَّ أَوْ آبَاءِ بُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوْ أَبْنَائِهِنَّ أَوْ أَبْنَاءِ بُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوْ إِخْوَانِهِنَّ أَوْ بَنِي إِخْوَانِهِنَّ أَوْ بَنِي أَخَوَاتِهِنَّ أَوْ نِسَائِهِنَّ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُهُنَّ أَوِ التَّابِعِينَ غَيْرِ أُولِي الْإِرْبَةِ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ أَوِ الطِّفْلِ الَّذِينَ لَمْ يَظْهَرُوا عَلَىٰ عَوْرَاتِ النِّسَاءِ ۖ وَلَا يَضْرِبْنَ بِأَرْجُلِهِنَّ لِيُعْلَمَ مَا يُخْفِينَ مِنْ زِينَتِهِنَّ ۚ وَتُوبُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ جَمِيعًا أَيُّهَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ"

Wa qul lilmu'minaati yaghdudna min absaarihinna wa yahfazna furoojahunna wa laa yubdeena zeenatahunna illaa maa zahara minhaa walyadribna bikhumurihinna 'alaa juyoobihinna wa laa yubdeena zeenatahunna illaa libu'oolatihinna aw aabaaa'i hinna aw aabaaa'i bu'oolati hinna aw abnaaa'ihinaa aw abnaaa'i bu'oolatihinnna aw ikhwaanihinnna aw baneee ikhwaanihinna aw banee akhawaatihinna aw nisaaa'i hinna aw maa malakat aimaanuhunna awit taabi'eena ghairi ilil irbati minar rijaali awit tiflillazeena lam yazharoo 'alaa 'awraatin nisaaa'i wala yadribnna bi arjulihinna min zeenatihinn; wa toobooo ilallaahi jammee'an aiyuhal mu'minoona la'allakum tuflihoon

Tell the believing women to lower their eyes, guard their private parts, and not display their charms except what is apparent outwardly, and cover their bosoms with their veils and not to show their finery except to their husbands or their fathers or fathers-in-law, their sons or step-sons, brothers, or their brothers? and sisters? sons, or their women attendants or captives, or male attendants who do not have any need (for women), or boys not yet aware of sex. They should not walk stamping their feet lest they make known what they hide of their Ornaments. O believers, turn to God, every one of you, so that you may be successful.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 31

"وَأَنْكِحُوا الْأَيَامَىٰ مِنْكُمْ وَالصَّالِحِينَ مِنْ عِبَادِكُمْ وَإِمَائِكُمْ ۚ إِنْ يَكُونُوا فُقَرَاءَ يُغْنِهِمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ"

Wa ankihul ayaamaa minkum was saaliheena min 'ibaadikum wa imaa'kum; iny-yakoonoo fuqaraaa'a yughni himul laahu min fadlih; wal laahu Waasi'un 'Aleem

Marry off those who are single among you, and those of your male and female servants who are righteous. If they are poor, God will enrich them of His grace, for God is bounteous and all-knowing.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 32

"وَلْيَسْتَعْفِفِ الَّذِينَ لَا يَجِدُونَ نِكَاحًا حَتَّىٰ يُغْنِيَهُمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ ۗ وَالَّذِينَ يَبْتَغُونَ الْكِتَابَ مِمَّا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُكُمْ فَكَاتِبُوهُمْ إِنْ عَلِمْتُمْ فِيهِمْ خَيْرًا ۖ وَآتُوهُمْ مِنْ مَالِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي آتَاكُمْ ۚ وَلَا تُكْرِهُوا فَتَيَاتِكُمْ عَلَى الْبِغَاءِ إِنْ أَرَدْنَ تَحَصُّنًا لِتَبْتَغُوا عَرَضَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۚ وَمَنْ يُكْرِهْهُنَّ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ مِنْ بَعْدِ إِكْرَاهِهِنَّ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ"

Wal yasta'fifil lazeena laa yajidoona nikaahan hata yughniyahumul laahu mi fadlih; wallazeena yabtaghoonal kitaaba mimmaa malakat aimaanukum fakaatiboohum in 'alimtum feehim khairanw wa aatoohum mimmaalil laahil lazeee aataakum; wa laa tukrihoo fatayaatikum 'alal bighaaa'i in aradna tahassunal litabtaghoo 'aradal hayaatid dunyaa; wa mai yukrihhunna fa innal laaha mim ba'di ikraahihinna Ghafoorur Raheem

Those who cannot afford to marry should abstain from what is unlawful until God enriches them by His grace. And free those slaves you possess who wish to buy their freedom after a written undertaking, if you know they have some goodness, and give them out of the riches God has given you. Do not force your maids to prostitution if they wish to lead married lives, in order to get the benefits of this world. But if someone forces them, surely God (will forgive them) after their forced helplessness, for He is forgiving and kind.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 33

"وَلَقَدْ أَنْزَلْنَا إِلَيْكُمْ آيَاتٍ مُبَيِّنَاتٍ وَمَثَلًا مِنَ الَّذِينَ خَلَوْا مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ وَمَوْعِظَةً لِلْمُتَّقِينَ"

Wa laqad anzalnaaa ilaikum Aayaatim mubaiyinaatinw wa masalam minnal lazeena khalaw min qablikum wa maw'izatal lilmuttaqeen (section 4)

We have sent down clear instructions to you, and illustrations from (the accounts) of those who have gone before you, and a warning for those who take heed for themselves.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 34

"۞ اللَّهُ نُورُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ مَثَلُ نُورِهِ كَمِشْكَاةٍ فِيهَا مِصْبَاحٌ ۖ الْمِصْبَاحُ فِي زُجَاجَةٍ ۖ الزُّجَاجَةُ كَأَنَّهَا كَوْكَبٌ دُرِّيٌّ يُوقَدُ مِنْ شَجَرَةٍ مُبَارَكَةٍ زَيْتُونَةٍ لَا شَرْقِيَّةٍ وَلَا غَرْبِيَّةٍ يَكَادُ زَيْتُهَا يُضِيءُ وَلَوْ لَمْ تَمْسَسْهُ نَارٌ ۚ نُورٌ عَلَىٰ نُورٍ ۗ يَهْدِي اللَّهُ لِنُورِهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ ۚ وَيَضْرِبُ اللَّهُ الْأَمْثَالَ لِلنَّاسِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ"

Allaahu noorus samaawaati wal ard; masalu noorihee kamishkaatin feehaa misbaah; almisbaahu fee zujaajatin azzujaajatu ka annahaa kawkabun durriyyuny yooqadu min shajaratim mubaarakatin zaitoonatil laa shariqiyyatinw wa laa gharbiyyatiny yakaadu zaituhaa yudeee'u wa law alm tamsashu naar; noorun 'alaa noor; yahdil laahu linoorihee mai yashaaa'; wa yadribul laahul amsaala linnaas; wallaahu bikulli shai'in Aleem

God is the light of the heavens and the earth. The semblance of His light is that of a niche in which is a lamp, the flame within a glass, the glass a glittering star as it were, lit with the oil of a blessed tree, the olive, neither of the East nor of the West, whose oil appears to light up even though fire touches it not, -- light upon light. God guides to His light whom He will. So does God advance precepts of wisdom for men, for God has knowledge of everything.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 35

"فِي بُيُوتٍ أَذِنَ اللَّهُ أَنْ تُرْفَعَ وَيُذْكَرَ فِيهَا اسْمُهُ يُسَبِّحُ لَهُ فِيهَا بِالْغُدُوِّ وَالْآصَالِ"

Fee buyootin azinal laahu an turfa'a wa yuzkara feehasmuhoo yusabbihu lahoo feehaa bilghuduwwi wal aasaal

(The light is lit) in houses of worship which God has allowed to be raised, and His name remembered in them. His praises are sung there morning and evening,

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 36

"رِجَالٌ لَا تُلْهِيهِمْ تِجَارَةٌ وَلَا بَيْعٌ عَنْ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ وَإِقَامِ الصَّلَاةِ وَإِيتَاءِ الزَّكَاةِ ۙ يَخَافُونَ يَوْمًا تَتَقَلَّبُ فِيهِ الْقُلُوبُ وَالْأَبْصَارُ"

Rinjaalul laa tulheehim tijaaratunw wa laa bai'un 'an zikril laahi wa iqaamis Salaati wa eetaaa'iz Zakaati yakkhaafoona Yawman tataqallabu feehil quloobu wal absaar

By men not distracted from the remembrance of God either by trade and commerce or buying and selling, who stand by their devotional obligations and pay the zakat, who fear the day when hearts and eyes would flutter with trepidation

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 37

"لِيَجْزِيَهُمُ اللَّهُ أَحْسَنَ مَا عَمِلُوا وَيَزِيدَهُمْ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ يَرْزُقُ مَنْ يَشَاءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ"

Liyajziyahumul laahu ahsana maa 'amiloo wa yazeedahum min fadlih; wal laahu yarzuqu mai yashaaa'u bighairi hisaab

That God may reward them for the best of their deeds, and bestow more on them of His bounty, for God gives whom He please without measure.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 38

"وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَعْمَالُهُمْ كَسَرَابٍ بِقِيعَةٍ يَحْسَبُهُ الظَّمْآنُ مَاءً حَتَّىٰ إِذَا جَاءَهُ لَمْ يَجِدْهُ شَيْئًا وَوَجَدَ اللَّهَ عِنْدَهُ فَوَفَّاهُ حِسَابَهُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ سَرِيعُ الْحِسَابِ"

Wallazeena kafarooo a'maaluhum kasaraabim biqee'atiny yahsabuhuz zamaanu maaa'an hattaaa izaa jaaa'ahoo lam yajid hu shai'anw wa wajadal laaha 'indahoo fa waffaahu hisaabah; wallaahu saree'ul hisaab

As for those who disbelieve, their deeds are like a mirage in the desert which the thirsty takes for water till he reaches it to find that there was nothing, and finds God with him who settles his account, for God is swift at the reckoning.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 39

"أَوْ كَظُلُمَاتٍ فِي بَحْرٍ لُجِّيٍّ يَغْشَاهُ مَوْجٌ مِنْ فَوْقِهِ مَوْجٌ مِنْ فَوْقِهِ سَحَابٌ ۚ ظُلُمَاتٌ بَعْضُهَا فَوْقَ بَعْضٍ إِذَا أَخْرَجَ يَدَهُ لَمْ يَكَدْ يَرَاهَا ۗ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَجْعَلِ اللَّهُ لَهُ نُورًا فَمَا لَهُ مِنْ نُورٍ"

Aw kazulumaatin fee bahril lujjiyyiny yaghshaahu mawjum min fawqihee mawjum min fawqihee mawjum min fawqihee sahaab; zulumatum ba'duhaa fawqa ba'din izaaa akhraja yadahoo lam yakad yaraahaa wa mal lam yaj'alil laahu lahoo noora famaa lahoo min noor (section 5)

Or like darkness in a wide, wide sea, waves surging upon waves, with clouds overhanging, darkness on darkness. If you stretch your hand, you could hardly see it. For him whom God does not give any light, there is no light.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 40

"أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يُسَبِّحُ لَهُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَالطَّيْرُ صَافَّاتٍ ۖ كُلٌّ قَدْ عَلِمَ صَلَاتَهُ وَتَسْبِيحَهُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِمَا يَفْعَلُونَ"

Alam tara annal laaha yusabbihu lahoo man fissamaawaati wal ardi wat tairu saaaffaatim kullun qad 'alima Salaatahoo wa tasbeehah; wallaahu 'aleemum bimaa yaf'aloon

Have you not seen that all those who are in the heavens and the earth, and the birds on the wing, sing the praises of God. Each one knows its obligations and its duties, and God knows whatever they do.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 41

"وَلِلَّهِ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ وَإِلَى اللَّهِ الْمَصِيرُ"

Wa lillaahi mulkus samaawaati wal ardi wa ilal laahil maseer

For God?s is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and the returning is to God.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 42

"أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يُزْجِي سَحَابًا ثُمَّ يُؤَلِّفُ بَيْنَهُ ثُمَّ يَجْعَلُهُ رُكَامًا فَتَرَى الْوَدْقَ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ خِلَالِهِ وَيُنَزِّلُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مِنْ جِبَالٍ فِيهَا مِنْ بَرَدٍ فَيُصِيبُ بِهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَيَصْرِفُهُ عَنْ مَنْ يَشَاءُ ۖ يَكَادُ سَنَا بَرْقِهِ يَذْهَبُ بِالْأَبْصَارِ"

Alam tara annal laaha yuzjee sahaaban summa yu'allifu bainahoo summa yaj'aluhoo rukaaman fataral wadqa yakhruju min khilaalihee wa yunazzilu minas samaaa'i min jibaalin feehaa mim barain fa yuseebu bihee mai yashaaa'u wa yasrifuhoo 'am mai yashaaa'u yakkaadu sanaa barqihee yazhabu bil absaar

Have you not seen that God drives the clouds, then joins them together and puts them fold on fold. Then you see the rain fall through them; and He sends down hail from the sky where there are mountains of it, and strikes those with it whom He will, and wards it off from whomsoever He please. His lightning could snatch away their eyes.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 43

"يُقَلِّبُ اللَّهُ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِأُولِي الْأَبْصَارِ"

Yuqallibul laahul laila wannahaar; inna fee zaalika la'ibratal li ulil absaar

It is God who alternates night and day. There is surely a lesson in this for men of sight.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 44

"وَاللَّهُ خَلَقَ كُلَّ دَابَّةٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ ۖ فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَمْشِي عَلَىٰ بَطْنِهِ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَمْشِي عَلَىٰ رِجْلَيْنِ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَمْشِي عَلَىٰ أَرْبَعٍ ۚ يَخْلُقُ اللَّهُ مَا يَشَاءُ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ"

Wallaahu khalaqa kulla daaabbatim mim maaa'in faminhum mai yamshee 'alaa batnihee wa minhum mai yamshee 'alaa rijlaine wa minhum mai yamshee 'alaaa arba'; yakhluqul laahu maa yashaaa'; innal laaha 'alaa kulli shai'in Qadeer

God created every moving thing from water: One crawls on its belly, one walks on two legs, another moves on four. God creates whatsoever He will. Indeed God has power over everything.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 45

"لَقَدْ أَنْزَلْنَا آيَاتٍ مُبَيِّنَاتٍ ۚ وَاللَّهُ يَهْدِي مَنْ يَشَاءُ إِلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ"

Laqad anzalnaaa Aayaatim mubaiyinaat; wallaahu yahdee mai yashaaa'u ilaa Siraatim Mustaqeem

We have surely sent down clear signs. It is God who guides whom He will to the path that is straight.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 46

"وَيَقُولُونَ آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَبِالرَّسُولِ وَأَطَعْنَا ثُمَّ يَتَوَلَّىٰ فَرِيقٌ مِنْهُمْ مِنْ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ ۚ وَمَا أُولَٰئِكَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ"

Wa yaqooloona aamannaa billaahi wa bir Rasooli wa ata'naa summa yatawallaa fareequm minhum mim ba'di zaalik; wa maaa ulaaa'ika bilmu'mineen

They say they believe in God and the Prophet, and have come to believe, yet a section of them turns back even after this; and these are not believers.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 47

"وَإِذَا دُعُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِنْهُمْ مُعْرِضُونَ"

Wa izaa du'ooo ilal laahi wa Rasoolihee li yahkuma bainahum izaa fareequm minhum mu'ridoon

When they are called to God and His Prophet, that he may judge between them, a section of them turns away.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 48

"وَإِنْ يَكُنْ لَهُمُ الْحَقُّ يَأْتُوا إِلَيْهِ مُذْعِنِينَ"

Wa iny-yakul lahumul haqqu yaatooo ilaihi muz'ineen

Had right been on their side they would have come to him submissively.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 49

"أَفِي قُلُوبِهِمْ مَرَضٌ أَمِ ارْتَابُوا أَمْ يَخَافُونَ أَنْ يَحِيفَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَرَسُولُهُ ۚ بَلْ أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الظَّالِمُونَ"

Afee quloobihim ma radun amirtaabooo am yakhaafoona ani yaheefallaahu 'alaihim wa Rasooluh; bal ulaaa'ika humuz zaalimoon (section 6)

Is there a malady in their hearts, or they are deluded, or afraid that God and His Prophet would be unjust in dealing with them? Not so; they are themselves unjust.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 50

"إِنَّمَا كَانَ قَوْلَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِذَا دُعُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ أَنْ يَقُولُوا سَمِعْنَا وَأَطَعْنَا ۚ وَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ"

Innamaa kaana qawlal mu'mineena izaa du'ooo ilal laahi wa Rasoolihee li yahkuma bainahum ai yaqooloo sami'naa wa ata'naa; wa ulaaa'ika humul muflihoon

The answer of the believers when they are called to God and His Apostle that he may judge between them, is: "We hear and obey." And they are the ones who will prosper.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 51

"وَمَنْ يُطِعِ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَيَخْشَ اللَّهَ وَيَتَّقْهِ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْفَائِزُونَ"

Wa mai yuti'il laaha wa Rasoolahoo wa yakhshal laaha wa yattaqhi fa ulaaa'ika humul faaa'izoon

Whoever obeys God and His Prophet, fears God and does his duty to Him, will surely find success.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 52

"۞ وَأَقْسَمُوا بِاللَّهِ جَهْدَ أَيْمَانِهِمْ لَئِنْ أَمَرْتَهُمْ لَيَخْرُجُنَّ ۖ قُلْ لَا تُقْسِمُوا ۖ طَاعَةٌ مَعْرُوفَةٌ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ"

Wa aqsamoo billaahi jahda aimaanihim la'in amartahum la yakhrujunna qul laa tuqsimoo taa'atum ma'roofah innal laaha khabeerum bimaa ta'maloon

They swear solemnly by God: "If you command us we shall go forth." Say: "Do not swear. What is wanted is obedience, as should be. God is certainly aware of what you do."

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 53

"قُلْ أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ ۖ فَإِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْهِ مَا حُمِّلَ وَعَلَيْكُمْ مَا حُمِّلْتُمْ ۖ وَإِنْ تُطِيعُوهُ تَهْتَدُوا ۚ وَمَا عَلَى الرَّسُولِ إِلَّا الْبَلَاغُ الْمُبِينُ"

Qul atee'ul laaha wa atee'ur Rasoola fa in tawallaw fa innamaa 'alaihi maa hummila wa 'alaikum maa hummiltum wa in tutee'oohu tahtadoo; wa maa'alar Rasooli illal balaaghul mubeen

Say: "Obey God and obey the Apostle. If you turn away, then for him is his duty to fulfil, and for you the burden that you carry; yet if you obey him you will be rightly guided. The duty of the Messenger is to convey the message clearly.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 54

"وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنْكُمْ وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ كَمَا اسْتَخْلَفَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ وَلَيُمَكِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ دِينَهُمُ الَّذِي ارْتَضَىٰ لَهُمْ وَلَيُبَدِّلَنَّهُمْ مِنْ بَعْدِ خَوْفِهِمْ أَمْنًا ۚ يَعْبُدُونَنِي لَا يُشْرِكُونَ بِي شَيْئًا ۚ وَمَنْ كَفَرَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ"

Wa'adal laahul lazeena aamanoo minkum wa 'amilus saalihaati la yastakhlifan nahum fil ardi kamastakh lafal lazeena min qablihim wa la yumakkinanna lahum deenahumul lazir tadaa lahum wa la yubaddilannahum mim ba'di khawfihim amnaa; ya'budoonanee laayushrikoona bee shai'aa; wa man kafara ba'da zaalika fa ulaaa'ika humul faasiqoon

God has promised to make those of you who believe and do the right, leaders in the land, as He had made those before them, and will establish their faith which He has chosen for them and change their fear into security. They will worship Me and not associate any one with Me. But those who disbelieve after this will be reprobates.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 55

"وَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتُوا الزَّكَاةَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ"

Wa aqeemus Salaata wa aatuz Zakaata wa atee'ur Rasoola la'allakum turhamoon

So observe your devotional obligations, pay the zakat, and obey the Apostle so that you may be shown mercy.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 56

"لَا تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مُعْجِزِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ ۚ وَمَأْوَاهُمُ النَّارُ ۖ وَلَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ"

Laa tahsabannal lazeena kafaroo mu'jizeena fil ard; wa maawaahumun Naaru wa labi'sal maseer (section 7)

Do not think that unbelievers will subvert (the authority of God) on earth. Their abode is Hell; and what an evil destination!

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 57

"يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لِيَسْتَأْذِنْكُمُ الَّذِينَ مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُكُمْ وَالَّذِينَ لَمْ يَبْلُغُوا الْحُلُمَ مِنْكُمْ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ۚ مِنْ قَبْلِ صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ وَحِينَ تَضَعُونَ ثِيَابَكُمْ مِنَ الظَّهِيرَةِ وَمِنْ بَعْدِ صَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ ۚ ثَلَاثُ عَوْرَاتٍ لَكُمْ ۚ لَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَا عَلَيْهِمْ جُنَاحٌ بَعْدَهُنَّ ۚ طَوَّافُونَ عَلَيْكُمْ بَعْضُكُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ اللَّهُ لَكُمُ الْآيَاتِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ"

Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanoo li yastaazinkumul lazeena malakat aimaanukum wallazeena lam yablughul huluma minkum salaasa marraat; min qabli Salaatil Fajri wa heena tada'oona siyaa bakum minaz zaheerati wa mim ba'di Salaatil Ishaaa'; salaasu 'awraatil lakum; laisa 'alaikum wa laa 'alaihim junaahum ba'dahunn; tawwaafoona 'alaikum ba'dukum 'alaa ba'd; kazaalika yubaiyinul laahu lakumul aayaat wallaahu 'Aleemun Hakeem

O you who believe, let your dependants and those who have not yet reached the age of puberty, ask permission (to enter your presence) on three occasions: Before the early morning prayer; when you disrobe for the mid-day siesta; and after prayer at night. These are the three occasions of dishabille for you. There is no harm if you or they visit one another at other times (without permission). God thus explains things to you clearly, for God is all-knowing and all-wise.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 58

"وَإِذَا بَلَغَ الْأَطْفَالُ مِنْكُمُ الْحُلُمَ فَلْيَسْتَأْذِنُوا كَمَا اسْتَأْذَنَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ آيَاتِهِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ"

Wa izaa balaghal atfaalu minkumul huluma fal yastaazinoo kamas taazanal lazeena min qablihim; kazaalika yubaiyinul laahu lakum Aayaatih; wallaahu 'Aleemun Hakeem

When your children have reached the age of puberty, they should similarly ask your leave (for entering) as others did before them. God thus clearly explains His commands to you, for God is all-knowing and all-wise.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 59

"وَالْقَوَاعِدُ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ اللَّاتِي لَا يَرْجُونَ نِكَاحًا فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْهِنَّ جُنَاحٌ أَنْ يَضَعْنَ ثِيَابَهُنَّ غَيْرَ مُتَبَرِّجَاتٍ بِزِينَةٍ ۖ وَأَنْ يَسْتَعْفِفْنَ خَيْرٌ لَهُنَّ ۗ وَاللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ"

Walqawaa'idu minan nisaaa'il laatee laa yarjoona nikaahan falisa 'alaihinna junaahun ai yada'na siyaabahunna ghaira mutabar rijaatim bizeenah; wa ai yasta'fifna khairul lahunn; wallaahu Samee'un 'Aleem

As for your women past the age of bearing children, who have no hope of marriage, there is no harm if they take off their outer garments, but in such a way that they do not display their charms; yet if they avoid this it would be better for them. God is all-hearing and all-knowing.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 60

"لَيْسَ عَلَى الْأَعْمَىٰ حَرَجٌ وَلَا عَلَى الْأَعْرَجِ حَرَجٌ وَلَا عَلَى الْمَرِيضِ حَرَجٌ وَلَا عَلَىٰ أَنْفُسِكُمْ أَنْ تَأْكُلُوا مِنْ بُيُوتِكُمْ أَوْ بُيُوتِ آبَائِكُمْ أَوْ بُيُوتِ أُمَّهَاتِكُمْ أَوْ بُيُوتِ إِخْوَانِكُمْ أَوْ بُيُوتِ أَخَوَاتِكُمْ أَوْ بُيُوتِ أَعْمَامِكُمْ أَوْ بُيُوتِ عَمَّاتِكُمْ أَوْ بُيُوتِ أَخْوَالِكُمْ أَوْ بُيُوتِ خَالَاتِكُمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكْتُمْ مَفَاتِحَهُ أَوْ صَدِيقِكُمْ ۚ لَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ أَنْ تَأْكُلُوا جَمِيعًا أَوْ أَشْتَاتًا ۚ فَإِذَا دَخَلْتُمْ بُيُوتًا فَسَلِّمُوا عَلَىٰ أَنْفُسِكُمْ تَحِيَّةً مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ مُبَارَكَةً طَيِّبَةً ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ اللَّهُ لَكُمُ الْآيَاتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ"

Laisa 'alal a'maa harajunw wa laa 'alal a'raji harajunw wa laa 'alal mareedi barajun wa laa 'alaa anfusikum an taakuloo mim buyootikum aw buyooti aabaaa'ikum aw buyooti ummahaatikum aw buyooti ikhwaanikum aw buyooti akhawaatikum aw buyooti a'maamikum aw buyooti 'ammaatikum aw buyooti akhwaalikum aw buyooti khaalaatikum aw maa malaktum mafaatihahooo aw sadeeqikum; laisa 'alaikum junaahun an taakuloo jamee'an aw ashtaata; fa izaa dakhaltum buyootan fasallimoo 'alaaa anfusikum tahiyyatam min 'indil laahi mubaarakatan taiyibah; kazaalika yubai yinul laahu lakumul Aayaati la'allakum ta'qiloon (section 8)

There is no harm if the blind, the lame, the sick, or you yourselves, eat in your own houses or the houses of your fathers, mothers, or your brothers? houses, or those of your sisters, or your fathers? brothers? or sisters?, or your mothers? brothers? or sisters?, or in the houses whose care is entrusted to you, or the houses of your friends.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 61

"إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَإِذَا كَانُوا مَعَهُ عَلَىٰ أَمْرٍ جَامِعٍ لَمْ يَذْهَبُوا حَتَّىٰ يَسْتَأْذِنُوهُ ۚ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَأْذِنُونَكَ أُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ۚ فَإِذَا اسْتَأْذَنُوكَ لِبَعْضِ شَأْنِهِمْ فَأْذَنْ لِمَنْ شِئْتَ مِنْهُمْ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمُ اللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ"

Innamal mu'minoonal lazeena aamanoo billaahi wa Rasoolihee wa izaa kaanoo ma'ahoo 'alaaa amrin jaami'il lam yazhaboo hataa yastaazinooh; innal lazeena yastaa zinookana ulaaa'ikal lazeena yu'minoona billaahi wa Rasoolih; fa izas taazanooka liba'di shaanihim faazal liman shi'ta minhum wastaghfir lahumul laah; innal laaha Gahfoor Raheem

There is no harm in your eating together or separately. But when you enter the houses, salute the inmates with a greeting in the name of God, invoking blessings and good health. That is how God explains things to you clearly so that you may understand. They alone are true believers who believe in God and His Apostle, and when they are with him on a matter of common concern, do not depart without obtaining his leave. Surely those who ask leave of you are the ones who believe in God and His Apostle. Therefore when they ask leave of you for personal business give leave to those you please, and seek God?s forgiveness for them. Surely God is forgiving and kind.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 62

"لَا تَجْعَلُوا دُعَاءَ الرَّسُولِ بَيْنَكُمْ كَدُعَاءِ بَعْضِكُمْ بَعْضًا ۚ قَدْ يَعْلَمُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ يَتَسَلَّلُونَ مِنْكُمْ لِوَاذًا ۚ فَلْيَحْذَرِ الَّذِينَ يُخَالِفُونَ عَنْ أَمْرِهِ أَنْ تُصِيبَهُمْ فِتْنَةٌ أَوْ يُصِيبَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ"

La taj'aloo du'aaa'ar Rasooli bainakum kadu'aaa'i badikum ba'daa; qad ya'lamul laahul lazeena yatasallaloona minkum liwaazaa; fal yahzaril lazeena yukhaalifoona 'an amriheee an tuseebahum fitnatun aw yuseebahum 'azaabun aleem

Do not consider your being summoned by the Apostle to be like your summoning one another. God knows those of you who go away surreptitiously. So let those who act in contravention of his command take heed lest a trial should befall them or a grievous punishment come upon them.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 63

"أَلَا إِنَّ لِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ قَدْ يَعْلَمُ مَا أَنْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ وَيَوْمَ يُرْجَعُونَ إِلَيْهِ فَيُنَبِّئُهُمْ بِمَا عَمِلُوا ۗ وَاللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ"

Alaaa inna lillaahi maa fis samaawaati wal ardi qad ya'lamu maaa antum 'alaihi wa Yawma yurja'oona ilaihi fa yunaabi 'uhum bimaa 'amiloo; wallaahu bikulli shai'in 'Aleem (section 9)

Does not everything in the heavens and the earth belong to God? He surely knows what state you are in; and on the day they go back to Him. He will tell them what they used to do, for God has knowledge of everything.

Surah Number : 24 , Ayat Number : 64

" تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي نَزَّلَ الْفُرْقَانَ عَلَىٰ عَبْدِهِ لِيَكُونَ لِلْعَالَمِينَ نَذِيرًا

Tabaarakal lazee nazzalal Furqaana 'alaa 'abdihee li yakoona lil'aalameena nazeera

BLESSED IS HE who revealed the Criterion (of right and wrong) to His votary that it may be a warning for the world, --

Surah Number : 25 , Ayat Number : 1

"الَّذِي لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَلَمْ يَتَّخِذْ وَلَدًا وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ شَرِيكٌ فِي الْمُلْكِ وَخَلَقَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ فَقَدَّرَهُ تَقْدِيرًا"

Allazee lahoo mulkus samaawaati wal ardi wa lam yattakhiz waladanw wa lam yakul lahoo shareekun filmulki wa khalaqa kulla shai'in faqaddarahoo taqdeeraa

He to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, who has neither begotten a son nor has He a partner in His kingdom, (who) created everything and determined its exact measure.

Surah Number : 25 , Ayat Number : 2

"وَاتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِهِ آلِهَةً لَا يَخْلُقُونَ شَيْئًا وَهُمْ يُخْلَقُونَ وَلَا يَمْلِكُونَ لِأَنْفُسِهِمْ ضَرًّا وَلَا نَفْعًا وَلَا يَمْلِكُونَ مَوْتًا وَلَا حَيَاةً وَلَا نُشُورًا"

Wattakhazoo min dooniheee aalihatal laa yakhluqoona shai'anw wa hum yukhlaqoona wa laa yamlikoona li anfusihim darranw wa laa naf'anw wa laa yamlikoona mawtanw wa laa hayaatanw wa laa nushooraa

Yet they choose apart from Him gods who have not created any thing and have themselves been created, who possess no power over their loss or gain, or their death or life or being raised to life again.

Surah Number : 25 , Ayat Number : 3

"وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِنْ هَٰذَا إِلَّا إِفْكٌ افْتَرَاهُ وَأَعَانَهُ عَلَيْهِ قَوْمٌ آخَرُونَ ۖ فَقَدْ جَاءُوا ظُلْمًا وَزُورًا"

Wa qaalal lazeena kafarooo in haazaaa illaaa ifkunif taraahu wa a'aanahoo 'alaihi qawmun aakharoona faqad jaaa'oo zulmanw wa zooraa

Yet the unbelievers say: "This is nothing but a lie he has concocted in which others have aided him." They have come down to mischief and lies.

Surah Number : 25 , Ayat Number : 4

"وَقَالُوا أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ اكْتَتَبَهَا فَهِيَ تُمْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا"

Wa qaalooo asaateerul awwaleenak tatabahaa fahiya tumlaa 'alaihi bukratanw wa aseelaa

And they say: "These are fables of antiquity he has invented, which are dictated to him morning and evening."

Surah Number : 25 , Ayat Number : 5

"قُلْ أَنْزَلَهُ الَّذِي يَعْلَمُ السِّرَّ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ غَفُورًا رَحِيمًا"

Qul anzalhul lazee ya'lamus sirra fis samaawaati wal-ard; innahoo kaana Ghafoorar Raheemaa

Say: "He who knows the secrets of the heavens and the earth has revealed it to me; and He is surely forgiving and kind."

Surah Number : 25 , Ayat Number : 6

"وَقَالُوا مَالِ هَٰذَا الرَّسُولِ يَأْكُلُ الطَّعَامَ وَيَمْشِي فِي الْأَسْوَاقِ ۙ لَوْلَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْهِ مَلَكٌ فَيَكُونَ مَعَهُ نَذِيرًا"

Wa qaaloo maa li haazar Rasooli yaakulut ta'aama wa yamshee fil aswaaq; law laaa unzila ilaihi malakun fa yakoona ma'ahoo nazeeraa

But they say: "What sort of prophet is this who eats food and walks the market places? Why was no angel sent to him to act as admonisher with him?

Surah Number : 25 , Ayat Number : 7

"أَوْ يُلْقَىٰ إِلَيْهِ كَنْزٌ أَوْ تَكُونُ لَهُ جَنَّةٌ يَأْكُلُ مِنْهَا ۚ وَقَالَ الظَّالِمُونَ إِنْ تَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا رَجُلًا مَسْحُورًا"

Aw yulqaaa ilaihi kanzun aw takoonu lahoo jannatuny yaakulu minhaa; wa qaalaz zaalimoona in tattabi'oona illaa rajulam mas hooraa

Or a treasure should have been given to him, or he should have had an orchard from which he could eat." And these wicked people say: "You only follow a man ensorcelled."

Surah Number : 25 , Ayat Number : 8

"انْظُرْ كَيْفَ ضَرَبُوا لَكَ الْأَمْثَالَ فَضَلُّوا فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ سَبِيلًا"

Unzur kaifa daraboo lakal amsaala fadalloo falaa yastatee'oona sabeelaa (section 1)

Just see what comparisons they bring up for you! They are lost and cannot find the way.

Surah Number : 25 , Ayat Number : 9

"تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي إِنْ شَاءَ جَعَلَ لَكَ خَيْرًا مِنْ ذَٰلِكَ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ وَيَجْعَلْ لَكَ قُصُورًا"

Tabaarakal lazeee in shaaa'a ja'ala laka khairam min zaalika jannaatin tajree min tahtihal anhaaru wa yaj'al laka qusooraa

Blessed be He who, if He pleased, could give you better than that, -- gardens with rivers flowing by; and make palaces for you.

Surah Number : 25 , Ayat Number : 10

"بَلْ كَذَّبُوا بِالسَّاعَةِ ۖ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِمَنْ كَذَّبَ بِالسَّاعَةِ سَعِيرًا"

Bal kazzaboo bis Saa'ati wa a'tadnaa liman kazzaba bis Saa'ati sa'eeraa

Yet they reject the Hour as untrue. We have prepared a Fire for those who deny the Resurrection.

Surah Number : 25 , Ayat Number : 11

"إِذَا رَأَتْهُمْ مِنْ مَكَانٍ بَعِيدٍ سَمِعُوا لَهَا تَغَيُّظًا وَزَفِيرًا"

Izaa ra'at hum mim ma kaanim ba'eedin sami'oo lahaa taghaiyuzanw wa zafeeraa

When (Hell) appears to them from a distance they will hear it raging and roaring.

Surah Number : 25 , Ayat Number : 12

"وَإِذَا أُلْقُوا مِنْهَا مَكَانًا ضَيِّقًا مُقَرَّنِينَ دَعَوْا هُنَالِكَ ثُبُورًا"

Wa izaaa ulqoo minhaa makaanan daiyiqam muqar raneena da'aw hunaalika subooraa

And when they are cast within a narrow space of it chained together, they would plead for death.

Surah Number : 25 , Ayat Number : 13

"لَا تَدْعُوا الْيَوْمَ ثُبُورًا وَاحِدًا وَادْعُوا ثُبُورًا كَثِيرًا"

Laa tad'ul yawma subooranw waahidanw wad'oo subooran kaseeraa

"Do not ask for one death but many deaths on this day."

Surah Number : 25 , Ayat Number : 14

"قُلْ أَذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ أَمْ جَنَّةُ الْخُلْدِ الَّتِي وُعِدَ الْمُتَّقُونَ ۚ كَانَتْ لَهُمْ جَزَاءً وَمَصِيرًا"

Qul azaalika khairun am Jannatul khuldil latee wu'idal muttaqoon; kaanat lahum jazaaa'anw wa maseeraa

Ask them: "Is this better or a garden for everlasting abode which has been promised the pious and devout? It would be their guerdon and their destination.

Surah Number : 25 , Ayat Number : 15

"لَهُمْ فِيهَا مَا يَشَاءُونَ خَالِدِينَ ۚ كَانَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّكَ وَعْدًا مَسْئُولًا"

Lahum feehaa maa yashaaa'oona khaalideen; kaana 'alaa Rabbika wa'dam mas'oolaa

There will they have whatever they wish, and there abide for ever." This is a promise incumbent on your Lord which will certainly be fulfilled.

Surah Number : 25 , Ayat Number : 16

"وَيَوْمَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ وَمَا يَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ فَيَقُولُ أَأَنْتُمْ أَضْلَلْتُمْ عِبَادِي هَٰؤُلَاءِ أَمْ هُمْ ضَلُّوا السَّبِيلَ"

Wa Yawma yahshuruhum wa maa ya'budoona min doonil lahi fa yaqoolu 'a-antum adlaltum 'ibaadee haaa'ulaaa'i am hum dallus sabeel

The day He will gather them together along with those they worshipped other than God, He will ask them: "Did you lure these creatures of Mine away, or did they themselves go astray?"

Surah Number : 25 , Ayat Number : 17

"قَالُوا سُبْحَانَكَ مَا كَانَ يَنْبَغِي لَنَا أَنْ نَتَّخِذَ مِنْ دُونِكَ مِنْ أَوْلِيَاءَ وَلَٰكِنْ مَتَّعْتَهُمْ وَآبَاءَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ نَسُوا الذِّكْرَ وَكَانُوا قَوْمًا بُورًا"

Qaaloo Subhaanaka maa kaana yambaghee lanaaa an nattakhiza min doonika min awliyaaa'a wa laakim matta'tahum wa aabaaa'ahum hattaa nasuz zikra wa kaanoo qawmam booraa

They will answer: "Glory to You. It was not worthy of us to seek any protector other than You. But You allowed them and their fathers a life of ease until they turned oblivious of the Reminder. They were a people impenitent.

Surah Number : 25 , Ayat Number : 18

"فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوكُمْ بِمَا تَقُولُونَ فَمَا تَسْتَطِيعُونَ صَرْفًا وَلَا نَصْرًا ۚ وَمَنْ يَظْلِمْ مِنْكُمْ نُذِقْهُ عَذَابًا كَبِيرًا"

Faqad kazzabookum bimaa taqooloona famaa tastatee'oona sarfanw wa laa nasraa; wa mai yazlim minkum nuziqhu 'azaaban kabeeraa

(The idolaters will be told): "Your gods have refuted your assertion. You can neither avert (your doom) nor receive any help. We shall make the wicked among you taste of severe punishment."

Surah Number : 25 , Ayat Number : 19

"وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا قَبْلَكَ مِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ إِلَّا إِنَّهُمْ لَيَأْكُلُونَ الطَّعَامَ وَيَمْشُونَ فِي الْأَسْوَاقِ ۗ وَجَعَلْنَا بَعْضَكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ فِتْنَةً أَتَصْبِرُونَ ۗ وَكَانَ رَبُّكَ بَصِيرًا"

Wa maaa arsalnaa qablaka minal mursaleena illaaa innahum la yaakuloonat ta'aama wa yamshoona fil aswaaq; wa ja'alnaa ba'dakum liba'din fitnatan atasbiroon; wa kaana Rabbuka Baseera (section 2) (End Juz 18)

We never sent before you apostles who did not eat food and walk the market places. We make some of you the means of trying the others. So will you persevere? Your Lord is always watching.

Surah Number : 25 , Ayat Number : 20
