"أَمَّنْ خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَأَنْزَلَ لَكُمْ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً فَأَنْبَتْنَا بِهِ حَدَائِقَ ذَاتَ بَهْجَةٍ مَا كَانَ لَكُمْ أَنْ تُنْبِتُوا شَجَرَهَا ۗ أَإِلَٰهٌ مَعَ اللَّهِ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ يَعْدِلُونَ"

Amman khalaqas samaawaati wal arda wa anzala lakum minas samaaa'i maaa'an fa ambatnaa bihee hadaaa'iqa zaata bahjah; maa kanna lakum an tumbitoo shajarahaa; 'a-ilaahum ma'al laah; bal hum qawmuny ya'diloon

Who created the heavens and the earth, who sends down water from the sky for you, with which He causes graceful gardens to grow? It was not in your power to make trees germinate. Is there any other god along with God. In fact they are a people who turn away (from the truth).

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 60

"أَمَّنْ جَعَلَ الْأَرْضَ قَرَارًا وَجَعَلَ خِلَالَهَا أَنْهَارًا وَجَعَلَ لَهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ حَاجِزًا ۗ أَإِلَٰهٌ مَعَ اللَّهِ ۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ"

Ammann ja'alal arda qaraaranw wa ja'ala khilaalahaaa anhaaranw wa ja'ala lahaa rawaasiya wa ja'ala bainal bahraini haajizaa; 'a-ilaahumma'allah; bal aksaruhum la ya'lamoon

Who then made the earth a habitable place, and made the rivers (flow) in its valleys and dales, and placed upon it firm stabilisers, and kept a barrier between two bodies of water? Is there any other god along with God? In reality most of them do not know.

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 61

"أَمَّنْ يُجِيبُ الْمُضْطَرَّ إِذَا دَعَاهُ وَيَكْشِفُ السُّوءَ وَيَجْعَلُكُمْ خُلَفَاءَ الْأَرْضِ ۗ أَإِلَٰهٌ مَعَ اللَّهِ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَا تَذَكَّرُونَ"

Ammany-yujeebul mud tarra izaa da'aahu wa yakshifussooo'a wa yaj'alukum khula faaa'al ardi 'a-ilaahum ma'al laahi qaleelam maa tazak karoon

Who hears the cry of the anguished (soul) when it calls to Him, and relieves its suffering? And who made you trustees on the earth? Is there any other god along with God? How little it is that you reflect!

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 62

"أَمَّنْ يَهْدِيكُمْ فِي ظُلُمَاتِ الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ وَمَنْ يُرْسِلُ الرِّيَاحَ بُشْرًا بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَحْمَتِهِ ۗ أَإِلَٰهٌ مَعَ اللَّهِ ۚ تَعَالَى اللَّهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ"

Ammany-yahdeekum fee zulumaatil barri wal bahri wa many yursilu riyaaha bushram baina yadai rahmatih; 'a-ilaahum ma'al laah; Ta'aalal laahu 'ammaa yushrikoon

Who then really shows you the way in the darkness of the desert and the sea? And who sends breezes bringing news of His benevolence? Is there any other god along with God? He is far too exalted for what they associate with Him!

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 63

"أَمَّنْ يَبْدَأُ الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُ وَمَنْ يَرْزُقُكُمْ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۗ أَإِلَٰهٌ مَعَ اللَّهِ ۚ قُلْ هَاتُوا بُرْهَانَكُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ"

Ammmany-yabda'ul khalqa summa yu'eeduhoo wa many-yarzuqukum minas sammaaa'i wal ard; 'a-ilaahum ma'allah; qul haatoo burhaanakum in kuntum saadiqeen

Who creates first then reverts it? And who gives you provision from the heavens and the earth? Is there any other god along with God? Tell them: "Bring your proof, if you are truthful."

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 64

"قُلْ لَا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ الْغَيْبَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ۚ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ أَيَّانَ يُبْعَثُونَ"

Qul laa ya'lamu mman fis sammaawaati wal ardil ghaiba illal laah; wa maa yash'uroona aiyaana yub'asoon

Say: "No one in the heavens and the earth has knowledge of the unknown except God, nor can they know when they will be raised again.

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 65

"بَلِ ادَّارَكَ عِلْمُهُمْ فِي الْآخِرَةِ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ فِي شَكٍّ مِنْهَا ۖ بَلْ هُمْ مِنْهَا عَمُونَ"

Balid daaraka 'ilmuhum fil Aakhirah; bal hum fee shakkim minhaa bal hum minhaa 'amoon (section 5)

Still less do they comprehend the life to come. In fact they are in doubt about it. Still more, they are blind to it."

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 66

"وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَإِذَا كُنَّا تُرَابًا وَآبَاؤُنَا أَئِنَّا لَمُخْرَجُونَ"

Wa qaalal lazeena kafarooo 'a-izaa kunnaa turaabanw wa aabaaa'unaaa a'innaa lamukhrajoon

Those who do not believe, say: "When we and our fathers have turned to dust, how shall we be raised again?

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 67

"لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا هَٰذَا نَحْنُ وَآبَاؤُنَا مِنْ قَبْلُ إِنْ هَٰذَا إِلَّا أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ"

Laqad wu'idnaa haazaa nahnu wa aabaaa'unaa min qablu in haazaaa illaaa asaateerul awwaleen

Indeed we and our fathers had been promised this before. It is nothing but the earlier people?s lore."

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 68

"قُلْ سِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَانْظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُجْرِمِينَ"

Qul seeroo fil ardi fanzuroo kaifa kaana 'aaqibatul mujremeen

Say: "Travel in the land and see how (bad) was the end of sinners."

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 69

"وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا تَكُنْ فِي ضَيْقٍ مِمَّا يَمْكُرُونَ"

Wa laa tahzan 'alaihim wa laa takun fee daiqim mimmaa yamkuroon

Do not grieve over them, and do not be distressed by what they contrive.

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 70

"وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا الْوَعْدُ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ"

Wa yaqooloona mataa haazal wa'du in kuntum saadiqeen

Yet they say: "When will this promise come to pass? (Tell Us) if you speak the truth."

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 71

"قُلْ عَسَىٰ أَنْ يَكُونَ رَدِفَ لَكُمْ بَعْضُ الَّذِي تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ"

Qul 'asaaa any-yakoona radifa lakum ba'dul lazee tasta'jiloon

Say: "Perhaps some of what you wish to hasten is right behind you."

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 72

"وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَشْكُرُونَ"

Wa innna Rabbaka lazoo fadlin 'alan naasi wa laakina aksarahum laa yashkuroon

Verily your Lord is gracious to men, though most men are ungrateful.

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 73

"وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَيَعْلَمُ مَا تُكِنُّ صُدُورُهُمْ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ"

Wa inna Rabbaka la ya'lamu maa tukinnu sudooruhum wa maa yu'linoon

Verily your Lord knows what lies hidden in their breasts and what they disclose.

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 74

"وَمَا مِنْ غَائِبَةٍ فِي السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ إِلَّا فِي كِتَابٍ مُبِينٍ"

Wa maa min ghaaa'ibatin fis samaaa'i wal ardi illaa fee kitaabimm mubeen

There is nothing of the hidden in the heavens and the earth that is not recorded in the luminous Book.

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 75

"إِنَّ هَٰذَا الْقُرْآنَ يَقُصُّ عَلَىٰ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ أَكْثَرَ الَّذِي هُمْ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ"

Inna haazal Qur-aana yaqussu 'alaa Baneee israaa'eela aksaral lazee hum feehi yakhtalifoon

Indeed this Qur?an explains to the children of Israel much of what they are at variance.

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 76

"وَإِنَّهُ لَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ"

Wa innahoo lahudanw wa rahmatul lilmu'mineen

It is a guidance and grace for those who believe.

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 77

"إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَقْضِي بَيْنَهُمْ بِحُكْمِهِ ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْعَلِيمُ"

Inna Rabbaka yaqdee bainahum bihukmih; wa Huwal 'Azeezul 'Aleem

Surely your Lord in His wisdom will decide between them. He is all-mighty and all-knowing.

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 78

"فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّكَ عَلَى الْحَقِّ الْمُبِينِ"

Fatawakkal 'alal laahi innaka 'alal haqqil mubeen

So you place your trust in God. Certainly you stand on positive truth.

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 79

"إِنَّكَ لَا تُسْمِعُ الْمَوْتَىٰ وَلَا تُسْمِعُ الصُّمَّ الدُّعَاءَ إِذَا وَلَّوْا مُدْبِرِينَ"

Innaka laa tusmi'ul mawtaa wa laa tusmi'us summad du'aaa izaa wallaw mudbireen

You cannot make the dead to listen, or the deaf to hear the call, when they have turned their backs,

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 80

"وَمَا أَنْتَ بِهَادِي الْعُمْيِ عَنْ ضَلَالَتِهِمْ ۖ إِنْ تُسْمِعُ إِلَّا مَنْ يُؤْمِنُ بِآيَاتِنَا فَهُمْ مُسْلِمُونَ"

Wa maaa anta bihaadil 'umyi 'an dalaalatihim in tusmi'u illaa mai yu'minu bi aayaatinaa fahum muslimoon

Nor can you lead the blind when they have gone astray. You can make none hear except those who believe in Our signs and have come to peace and submission.

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 81

"۞ وَإِذَا وَقَعَ الْقَوْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ أَخْرَجْنَا لَهُمْ دَابَّةً مِنَ الْأَرْضِ تُكَلِّمُهُمْ أَنَّ النَّاسَ كَانُوا بِآيَاتِنَا لَا يُوقِنُونَ"

Wa izaa waqa'al qawhu 'alaihim akhrajnaa lahum daabbatam minal ardi tukal limuhum annan naasa kaanoo bi aayaatinaa laa yooqinoon (section 6)

When the sentence will have been passed against them, We shall bring forth beastly brutes from the earth who will torment them, for men certainly do not believe Our signs.

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 82

"وَيَوْمَ نَحْشُرُ مِنْ كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ فَوْجًا مِمَّنْ يُكَذِّبُ بِآيَاتِنَا فَهُمْ يُوزَعُونَ"

Wa Yawma nahshuru min kulli ummmatin fawjam mim many-yukazzibu bi Aayaatinaa fahum yooza'oon

The day We shall gather from every community a section of those who denied Our signs, and they will be brought (in separate groups),

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 83

"حَتَّىٰ إِذَا جَاءُوا قَالَ أَكَذَّبْتُمْ بِآيَاتِي وَلَمْ تُحِيطُوا بِهَا عِلْمًا أَمَّاذَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ"

Hattaaa izaa jaaa'oo qaala akazzabtum bi Aayaatee wa lam tuheetoo bihaa 'ilman ammaazaa kuntum ta'maloon

So that when they come (before the Lord) He will say: "Did you deny My signs without having understood them? Or what was it that you were doing?"

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 84

"وَوَقَعَ الْقَوْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ بِمَا ظَلَمُوا فَهُمْ لَا يَنْطِقُونَ"

Wa waqa'al qawlu 'alaihim bimaa zalamoo fahum laa yantiqoon

When the sentence will have been passed upon them for their wickedness, they will not be able to say a word.

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 85

"أَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّا جَعَلْنَا اللَّيْلَ لِيَسْكُنُوا فِيهِ وَالنَّهَارَ مُبْصِرًا ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ"

Alam yaraw annaa ja'alnal laila li yaskunoo feehi wannahaara mubsiraa; inna fee zaalika la Aayaatil liqaw miny-yu'minoon

Do they not see that We made the night for them to rest, the day to make things clear? Indeed there are signs in this for people who believe.

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 86

"وَيَوْمَ يُنْفَخُ فِي الصُّورِ فَفَزِعَ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ إِلَّا مَنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ ۚ وَكُلٌّ أَتَوْهُ دَاخِرِينَ"

Wa Yawma yunfakhu fis Soori fafazi'a man fis samaawaati wa man fil ardi illaa man shaaa'al laah; wa kullun atawhu daakhireen

The day the trumpet blast is sounded whoever is in the heavens and the earth will be terrified, save those whom God please, and all will appear before Him in abjectness.

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 87

"وَتَرَى الْجِبَالَ تَحْسَبُهَا جَامِدَةً وَهِيَ تَمُرُّ مَرَّ السَّحَابِ ۚ صُنْعَ اللَّهِ الَّذِي أَتْقَنَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ ۚ إِنَّهُ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَفْعَلُونَ"

Wa taral jibaala tahsabuhaa jaamidatanw wa hiya tamurru marras sahaab; sun'al laahil lazeee atqana kulla shai'; innahoo khabeerum bimaa taf'aloon

You will see the mountains and think they are firmly planted, but they will pass away like flying clouds: Artistry of God who perfected everything. He is indeed fully aware of what you do.

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 88

"مَنْ جَاءَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُ خَيْرٌ مِنْهَا وَهُمْ مِنْ فَزَعٍ يَوْمَئِذٍ آمِنُونَ"

Man jaaa'a bilhasanati falahoo khairum minhaa wa hum min faza'iny Yawma'izin aaminoon

Whoever comes with good (deeds) will receive better than (what he had done), and be safe that day from terror.

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 89

"وَمَنْ جَاءَ بِالسَّيِّئَةِ فَكُبَّتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ فِي النَّارِ هَلْ تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ"

Wa man jaaa'a bissai yi'ati fakubbat wujoohuhum fin Naari hal tujzawna illaa maa kuntum ta'maloon

But whosoever comes with evil will be flung face forward into the Fire. Can you expect reward for any thing but what you do?

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 90

"إِنَّمَا أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ رَبَّ هَٰذِهِ الْبَلْدَةِ الَّذِي حَرَّمَهَا وَلَهُ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ ۖ وَأُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ"

Innamaaa umirtu an a'buda Rabba haazihil baldatil lazee harramahaa wa lahoo kullu shai'inw wa umirtu an akoona minal muslimeen

(Say): "I am commanded to worship the Lord of this land He has blessed, to whom all things belong; and I am commanded to be one of those who submit,

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 91

"وَأَنْ أَتْلُوَ الْقُرْآنَ ۖ فَمَنِ اهْتَدَىٰ فَإِنَّمَا يَهْتَدِي لِنَفْسِهِ ۖ وَمَنْ ضَلَّ فَقُلْ إِنَّمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُنْذِرِينَ"

Wa an atluwal Qur-aana famanih tadaa fa innnamaa yahtadee linafsihee wa man dalla faqul innamaaa ana minal munzireen

And to recite the Qur?an." Whoever comes to guidance does so for himself; as for him who stays astray, tell him: "I am only a warner."

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 92

"وَقُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ سَيُرِيكُمْ آيَاتِهِ فَتَعْرِفُونَهَا ۚ وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ"

Wa qulil hamdu lillaahi sa yureekum Aayaatihee fata'ri foonahaa; wa maa Rabbuka bighaaflin 'ammaa ta'maloon (section 7)

Say: "All praise be to God. He will show you His signs, and you will recognise them. Your Lord is not heedless of what you do."

Surah Number : 27 , Ayat Number : 93

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 1

"تِلْكَ آيَاتُ الْكِتَابِ الْمُبِينِ"

Tilka Aayaatul Kitaabil mubeen

These are the verses of the illuminating Book.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 2

"نَتْلُو عَلَيْكَ مِنْ نَبَإِ مُوسَىٰ وَفِرْعَوْنَ بِالْحَقِّ لِقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ"

Natloo 'alaika min naba-i Moosaa wa Fir'awna bilhaqqi liqawminy yu'miinoon

We narrate to you from the history of Moses and Pharaoh in all verity, for those who believe.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 3

"إِنَّ فِرْعَوْنَ عَلَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَجَعَلَ أَهْلَهَا شِيَعًا يَسْتَضْعِفُ طَائِفَةً مِنْهُمْ يُذَبِّحُ أَبْنَاءَهُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيِي نِسَاءَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ مِنَ الْمُفْسِدِينَ"

Inna Fir'awna 'alaa fil ardi wa ja'ala ahlahaa shiya'ai yastad'ifu taaa'ifatam minhum yuzabbihu abnaaa'ahum wa yastahyee nisaaa'ahum; innahoo kaana minal mufsideen

The Pharaoh had become high and mighty in the land, and divided the people into different classes, and impoverished one class, slaying its males and sparing its women, for he was indeed a tyrant.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 4

"وَنُرِيدُ أَنْ نَمُنَّ عَلَى الَّذِينَ اسْتُضْعِفُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَنَجْعَلَهُمْ أَئِمَّةً وَنَجْعَلَهُمُ الْوَارِثِينَ"

Wa nureedu an namunna 'alal lazeenas tud'ifoo fil ardi wa naj'alahum a'immatanw wa naj'alahumul waariseen

We wished to favour those who were weak in the land and make them leaders and heirs,

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 5

"وَنُمَكِّنَ لَهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَنُرِيَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَهَامَانَ وَجُنُودَهُمَا مِنْهُمْ مَا كَانُوا يَحْذَرُونَ"

Wa numakkina lahum fil ardi wa nuriya Fir'awna wa Haamaana wa junoodahumaa minhum maa kaanoo yahzaroon

And establish them in the country; and to make the Pharaoh, Haman and their hordes beware of what they feared from them.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 6

"وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَىٰ أُمِّ مُوسَىٰ أَنْ أَرْضِعِيهِ ۖ فَإِذَا خِفْتِ عَلَيْهِ فَأَلْقِيهِ فِي الْيَمِّ وَلَا تَخَافِي وَلَا تَحْزَنِي ۖ إِنَّا رَادُّوهُ إِلَيْكِ وَجَاعِلُوهُ مِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ"

Wa awhainaaa ilaaa ummi Moosaaa an ardi'eehi faizaa khifti 'alaihi fa alqeehi filyammi wa laa takhaafee wa laa tahzaneee innaa raaaddoohu ilaiki wa jaa'iloohu minal mursaleen

So We conveyed to the mother of Moses: "Suckle him. If you are afraid for him, cast him in the river without any fear or regret, for We shall restore him to you, and make him an apostle."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 7

"فَالْتَقَطَهُ آلُ فِرْعَوْنَ لِيَكُونَ لَهُمْ عَدُوًّا وَحَزَنًا ۗ إِنَّ فِرْعَوْنَ وَهَامَانَ وَجُنُودَهُمَا كَانُوا خَاطِئِينَ"

Faltaqatahooo Aalu Fir'awna li yakoona lahum 'aduwwanw wa hazanaa; inna Fir'awna wa Haamaana wa junooda humaa kaanoo khaati'een

Then he was picked up by the family of Pharaoh (unaware) that he would become their enemy and a cause for regret. Surely the Pharaoh, Haman and their hordes were habitual sinners.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 8

"وَقَالَتِ امْرَأَتُ فِرْعَوْنَ قُرَّتُ عَيْنٍ لِي وَلَكَ ۖ لَا تَقْتُلُوهُ عَسَىٰ أَنْ يَنْفَعَنَا أَوْ نَتَّخِذَهُ وَلَدًا وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ"

Wa qaalatim ra atu Fir'awna qurratu 'aynil lee wa lak; laa taqtuloohu 'asaaa aiyanfa'anaa aw nattakhizahoo waladanw wa hum laa yash'uroon

The Pharaoh?s wife said: "He will be a comfort to me and to you. Do not kill him. He may well be of some advantage to us, or we may adopt him as a son." They were not aware (of what the future held in store).

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 9

"وَأَصْبَحَ فُؤَادُ أُمِّ مُوسَىٰ فَارِغًا ۖ إِنْ كَادَتْ لَتُبْدِي بِهِ لَوْلَا أَنْ رَبَطْنَا عَلَىٰ قَلْبِهَا لِتَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ"

Wa asbaha fu'aadu ummi Moosaa faarighan in kaadat latubdee bihee law laaa arrabatnaa 'alaa qalbihaa litakoona minal mu'mineen

The mother of Moses was perturbed in the morning. Had We not strengthened her heart to remain a believer she had almost given him away.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 10

"وَقَالَتْ لِأُخْتِهِ قُصِّيهِ ۖ فَبَصُرَتْ بِهِ عَنْ جُنُبٍ وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ"

Wa qaalat li ukhtihee qusseehi fabasurat bihee 'an junubinw wahum laa yash'uroon

She told his sister: "Follow him." So she kept an eye on him from a distance, unbeknown to them.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 11

"۞ وَحَرَّمْنَا عَلَيْهِ الْمَرَاضِعَ مِنْ قَبْلُ فَقَالَتْ هَلْ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَىٰ أَهْلِ بَيْتٍ يَكْفُلُونَهُ لَكُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُ نَاصِحُونَ"

Wa harramnaa 'alaihil maraadi'a min qablu faqaalat hal adullukum 'alaaa ahli baitiny yakfuloonahoo lakum wa hum lahoo naasihoon

We made (Moses) refuse a wet nurse. So his sister said: "Should I tell you of a household that could bring him up for you and take care of him?"

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 12

"فَرَدَدْنَاهُ إِلَىٰ أُمِّهِ كَيْ تَقَرَّ عَيْنُهَا وَلَا تَحْزَنَ وَلِتَعْلَمَ أَنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ"

Faradadnaahu ilaa ummihee kai taqarra 'ainuhaa wa laa tahzana wa lita'lama anna wa'dal laahi haqqunw wa laakinna aksarahum laa ya'lamoon (section 1)

Thus We restored him to his mother that she may be tranquil and not grieve, and know that the promise of God is true, though most men do not know.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 13

"وَلَمَّا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُ وَاسْتَوَىٰ آتَيْنَاهُ حُكْمًا وَعِلْمًا ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ"

Wa lammaa balagha ashuddahoo wastawaaa aatai naahu hukmanw wa 'ilmaa; wa kazaalika najzil muhsineen

When he had grown up to full maturity, We gave him wisdom and knowledge. Thus do We recompense the doers of good.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 14

"وَدَخَلَ الْمَدِينَةَ عَلَىٰ حِينِ غَفْلَةٍ مِنْ أَهْلِهَا فَوَجَدَ فِيهَا رَجُلَيْنِ يَقْتَتِلَانِ هَٰذَا مِنْ شِيعَتِهِ وَهَٰذَا مِنْ عَدُوِّهِ ۖ فَاسْتَغَاثَهُ الَّذِي مِنْ شِيعَتِهِ عَلَى الَّذِي مِنْ عَدُوِّهِ فَوَكَزَهُ مُوسَىٰ فَقَضَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ۖ قَالَ هَٰذَا مِنْ عَمَلِ الشَّيْطَانِ ۖ إِنَّهُ عَدُوٌّ مُضِلٌّ مُبِينٌ"

Wa dakhalal madeenata 'alaa heene ghaflatim min ahlihaa fawajada feeha raju laini yaqtatilaani haazaa min shee'atihee wa haaza min 'aduwwihee fastaghaasahul lazee min shee'atihee 'alal lazee min 'aduwwihee fawakazahoo Moosaa faqadaa 'alaihi qaala haaza min 'amalish Shaitaani innahoo 'aduwwum mmudillum mubeen

He came to the city when the people were in a care-free mood, and saw two men quarrelling, one belonging to his community, the other to his enemies. The man who belonged to his community appealed for help against the one who belonged to the enemies. Moses struck him a blow with his fist and finished him off. "This is of Satan?s doing," he said. "He is certainly an enemy and a corrupter."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 15

"قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي فَغَفَرَ لَهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ"

Qaala Rabbi innee zalamtu nafsee faghfir lee faghafaralah; innahoo Huwal Ghafoorur Raheem

"O Lord," he prayed, "I have done wrong, forgive me." And God forgave him. Verily He is forgiving and kind.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 16

"قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَا أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ فَلَنْ أَكُونَ ظَهِيرًا لِلْمُجْرِمِينَ"

Qaala Rabbi bimaaa an'amta 'alaiya falan akoona zaheeral lilmujrimeen

(Moses) said: "O Lord, as You have been gracious to me I will never aid the guilty."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 17

"فَأَصْبَحَ فِي الْمَدِينَةِ خَائِفًا يَتَرَقَّبُ فَإِذَا الَّذِي اسْتَنْصَرَهُ بِالْأَمْسِ يَسْتَصْرِخُهُ ۚ قَالَ لَهُ مُوسَىٰ إِنَّكَ لَغَوِيٌّ مُبِينٌ"

Fa asbaha fil madeenati khaaa'ifany yataraqqabu fa izal lazis tansarahoo bil amsi yastasrikhuh; qaala lahoo moosaaa innaka laghawiyyum mubeen

In the morning he came to the city, fearful and hesitant. Just then he who had asked him for help the day before called out for help (again). "You are indeed a meddlesome fellow," Moses said to him.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 18

"فَلَمَّا أَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَبْطِشَ بِالَّذِي هُوَ عَدُوٌّ لَهُمَا قَالَ يَا مُوسَىٰ أَتُرِيدُ أَنْ تَقْتُلَنِي كَمَا قَتَلْتَ نَفْسًا بِالْأَمْسِ ۖ إِنْ تُرِيدُ إِلَّا أَنْ تَكُونَ جَبَّارًا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا تُرِيدُ أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُصْلِحِينَ"

Falammaaa an araada ai yabtisha billazee huwa 'aduwwul lahumaa qaala yaa Moosaaa atureedu an taqtulanee kamaa qatalta nafsam bil amsi in tureedu illaaa an takoona jabbaaram fil ardi wa maa tureedu an takoona minal musliheen

Then as he was about to lay hands on the one who was their common enemy, he cried out: "O Moses, do you want to kill me as you killed that person yesterday? You only want to be a tyrant in the land and no peacemaker."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 19

"وَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَقْصَى الْمَدِينَةِ يَسْعَىٰ قَالَ يَا مُوسَىٰ إِنَّ الْمَلَأَ يَأْتَمِرُونَ بِكَ لِيَقْتُلُوكَ فَاخْرُجْ إِنِّي لَكَ مِنَ النَّاصِحِينَ"

Wa jaaa'a rajulum min aqsal madeenati yas'aa qaala yaa Moosaaa innal mala a yaa tamiroona bika liyaqtulooka fakhruj innee laka minan naasiheen

There came a man running from the other part of the city. "O Moses," he said, "the chiefs are deliberating to kill you. Go away from the city. I wish you well."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 20

"فَخَرَجَ مِنْهَا خَائِفًا يَتَرَقَّبُ ۖ قَالَ رَبِّ نَجِّنِي مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ"

Fakharaja minhaa khaaa 'ifany-yataraqqab; qaala Rabbi najjinee minal qawmiz zaalimeen (section 2)

So he left the city, fearful and hesitant, (and) prayed: "O Lord, deliver me from these wicked people."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 21

"وَلَمَّا تَوَجَّهَ تِلْقَاءَ مَدْيَنَ قَالَ عَسَىٰ رَبِّي أَنْ يَهْدِيَنِي سَوَاءَ السَّبِيلِ"

Wa lammaa tawajjaha tilqaaa'a Madyana qaala 'asaa Rabbeee ai yahdiyanee Sawaaa'as Sabeel

Then as he turned his face to Midian, he said: "Maybe my Lord will show me the right way."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 22

"وَلَمَّا وَرَدَ مَاءَ مَدْيَنَ وَجَدَ عَلَيْهِ أُمَّةً مِنَ النَّاسِ يَسْقُونَ وَوَجَدَ مِنْ دُونِهِمُ امْرَأَتَيْنِ تَذُودَانِ ۖ قَالَ مَا خَطْبُكُمَا ۖ قَالَتَا لَا نَسْقِي حَتَّىٰ يُصْدِرَ الرِّعَاءُ ۖ وَأَبُونَا شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ"

Wa lammaa warada maaa'a Madyana wajada 'alaihi ummatam minannaasi yasqoona wa wajada min doonihimum ra ataini tazoodaani qaala maa khatubkumaa qaalataa laa nasqee hataa yusdirar ri'aaa'u wa aboonaa shaikhun kabeer

And when he came to the waters of Midian he found a crowd of people watering (their flocks), and saw two maidens holding back (their cattle). He asked: "What is the trouble with you?" They said: "We cannot water our flock till the shepherds have driven away theirs, and our father is a very old man."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 23

"فَسَقَىٰ لَهُمَا ثُمَّ تَوَلَّىٰ إِلَى الظِّلِّ فَقَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي لِمَا أَنْزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيرٌ"

Fasaqaa lahumaa summa tawallaaa ilaz zilli faqaala Rabbi innee limaaa anzalta ilaiya min khairin faqeer

So he watered (their flock), and moved into the shade and prayed: "My Lord, I have need of whatever good you send me."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 24

"فَجَاءَتْهُ إِحْدَاهُمَا تَمْشِي عَلَى اسْتِحْيَاءٍ قَالَتْ إِنَّ أَبِي يَدْعُوكَ لِيَجْزِيَكَ أَجْرَ مَا سَقَيْتَ لَنَا ۚ فَلَمَّا جَاءَهُ وَقَصَّ عَلَيْهِ الْقَصَصَ قَالَ لَا تَخَفْ ۖ نَجَوْتَ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ"

Fajaaa'at hu ihdaahumaa tamshee 'alas tihyaaa'in qaalat inna abee yad'ooka li yajziyaka ajra maa saqaita lanaa; falammaa jaaa'ahoo wa qassa 'alaihil qasasa qaala laa takhaf najawta minal qawmiz zaalimeen

Then one of the (maidens) came to him walking bashfully, (and) said: "My father invites you that he may repay you for having watered our flock." So, when (Moses) came to him and told him his story, he said: "Have no fear. You have escaped from the wicked people."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 25

"قَالَتْ إِحْدَاهُمَا يَا أَبَتِ اسْتَأْجِرْهُ ۖ إِنَّ خَيْرَ مَنِ اسْتَأْجَرْتَ الْقَوِيُّ الْأَمِينُ"

Qaalat ihdaahumaa yaaa abatis taajirhu inna khaira manistaajartal qawiyyul ameen

Said one of the maidens: "O father, employ him. Surely the best (man) to employ is one who is strong and honest."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 26

"قَالَ إِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُنْكِحَكَ إِحْدَى ابْنَتَيَّ هَاتَيْنِ عَلَىٰ أَنْ تَأْجُرَنِي ثَمَانِيَ حِجَجٍ ۖ فَإِنْ أَتْمَمْتَ عَشْرًا فَمِنْ عِنْدِكَ ۖ وَمَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَيْكَ ۚ سَتَجِدُنِي إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ"

Qaala innee ureedu an unkihaka ihdab nataiya haataini 'alaaa an taajuranee samaaniya hijaj; fa in atmamta 'ashran famin 'indika wa maaa ureedu an ashuqqa 'alaik; satajiduneee in shaaa'al laahu minas saaliheen

He said: "I would like to marry one of these two daughters of mine to you if you agree to work for me on hire for eight years. And if you stay on for ten, it is up to you. I do not wish to impose any hardship on you. God willing you will find me a man of honour."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 27

"قَالَ ذَٰلِكَ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكَ ۖ أَيَّمَا الْأَجَلَيْنِ قَضَيْتُ فَلَا عُدْوَانَ عَلَيَّ ۖ وَاللَّهُ عَلَىٰ مَا نَقُولُ وَكِيلٌ"

Qaala zaalika bainee wa bainaka aiyamal ajalaini qadaitu falaa 'udwaana 'alaiya wallaahu 'alaa ma naqoolu Wakeel (section 3)

(Moses) said: "This is (agreed) between you and me. Whichever term I fulfil, no injustice will be done to me. God is witness to our agreement."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 28

"۞ فَلَمَّا قَضَىٰ مُوسَى الْأَجَلَ وَسَارَ بِأَهْلِهِ آنَسَ مِنْ جَانِبِ الطُّورِ نَارًا قَالَ لِأَهْلِهِ امْكُثُوا إِنِّي آنَسْتُ نَارًا لَعَلِّي آتِيكُمْ مِنْهَا بِخَبَرٍ أَوْ جَذْوَةٍ مِنَ النَّارِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَصْطَلُونَ"

Falammmaa qadaa Moosal ajala wa saara bi ahliheee aanasa min jaanibit Toori naaran qaala li ahlihim kusooo inneee aanastu naaral la 'alleee aateekum minhaa bikhabarin aw jazwatim minan naari la 'allakum tastaloon

When Moses had fulfilled the term and was journeying with his family, he noticed a fire on the side of the mountain. "Wait here," he said to his family; "I have seen a fire. I may haply bring some news from there, or an ember that you may warm yourselves."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 29

"فَلَمَّا أَتَاهَا نُودِيَ مِنْ شَاطِئِ الْوَادِ الْأَيْمَنِ فِي الْبُقْعَةِ الْمُبَارَكَةِ مِنَ الشَّجَرَةِ أَنْ يَا مُوسَىٰ إِنِّي أَنَا اللَّهُ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ"

Falammaaa ataahaa noodiya min shaati'il waadil aimani fil buq'atil muubaarakati minash shajarati ai yaa Moosaaa inneee Anal laahu Rabbul 'aalameen

When he drew near, a voice called out to him from the tree on the blessed spot on the right side of the valley: "O Moses, I am verily God, the Lord of all the worlds.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 30

"وَأَنْ أَلْقِ عَصَاكَ ۖ فَلَمَّا رَآهَا تَهْتَزُّ كَأَنَّهَا جَانٌّ وَلَّىٰ مُدْبِرًا وَلَمْ يُعَقِّبْ ۚ يَا مُوسَىٰ أَقْبِلْ وَلَا تَخَفْ ۖ إِنَّكَ مِنَ الْآمِنِينَ"

Wa an alqi 'asaaka falam maa ra aahaa tahtazzu ka annnahaa jaaannunw wallaa mudbiranw wa lam yu'aqqib; yaa Moosaa aqbil wa laa takhaf innaka minal aamineen

Throw down your staff." When he saw it wriggling like a serpent, he turned about and fled without turning. "O Moses, approach," (said the Voice), "and have no fear. You will be safe.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 31

"اسْلُكْ يَدَكَ فِي جَيْبِكَ تَخْرُجْ بَيْضَاءَ مِنْ غَيْرِ سُوءٍ وَاضْمُمْ إِلَيْكَ جَنَاحَكَ مِنَ الرَّهْبِ ۖ فَذَانِكَ بُرْهَانَانِ مِنْ رَبِّكَ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَئِهِ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَوْمًا فَاسِقِينَ"

Usluk yadaka fee jaibika takhruj baidaaa'a min ghairi sooo'inw wadmum ilaika janaahaka minar rahbi fazaanika burhaanaani mir Rabbika ilaa Fir'awna wa mala'ih; innahum kaanoo qawman faasiqeen

Put your hand inside your shirt. It will come out white without a tarnish of blame; and do not be perturbed or afraid. These are two proofs from your Lord for the Pharaoh and his nobles. They are certainly a rebellious people."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 32

"قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي قَتَلْتُ مِنْهُمْ نَفْسًا فَأَخَافُ أَنْ يَقْتُلُونِ"

Qaala Rabbi innee qataltu minhum nafsan fa akhaafu ai yaqtuloon

He said: "O Lord, I have killed a man of theirs, and fear they would kill me.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 33

"وَأَخِي هَارُونُ هُوَ أَفْصَحُ مِنِّي لِسَانًا فَأَرْسِلْهُ مَعِيَ رِدْءًا يُصَدِّقُنِي ۖ إِنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ يُكَذِّبُونِ"

Wa akhee Haaroonu huwa afsahu minnee lisaanan fa arsilhu ma'iya rid ai yusaddiquneee innee akhaafu ai yukazziboon

So send my brother Aaron with me as helper for he is more fluent than I with words, that he should affirm me, for I fear that they would call me a liar."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 34

"قَالَ سَنَشُدُّ عَضُدَكَ بِأَخِيكَ وَنَجْعَلُ لَكُمَا سُلْطَانًا فَلَا يَصِلُونَ إِلَيْكُمَا ۚ بِآيَاتِنَا أَنْتُمَا وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَكُمَا الْغَالِبُونَ"

Qaala sanashuddu 'adudaka bi akheeka wa naj'alu lakumaa sultaanan falaa yasiloona ilaikumaa; bi Aayaatinaa antumaa wa manit taba'akumal ghaaliboon

(And) God said: "We shall strengthen your arm with your brother, and give you power with Our signs and give you authority, so that they will not be able to harm you. Both of you and your followers will be victorious."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 35

"فَلَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ مُوسَىٰ بِآيَاتِنَا بَيِّنَاتٍ قَالُوا مَا هَٰذَا إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُفْتَرًى وَمَا سَمِعْنَا بِهَٰذَا فِي آبَائِنَا الْأَوَّلِينَ"

Falammaa jaaa'ahum Moosaa bi Aayaatinaa baiyinaatin qaaloo maa haazaaa illaa sihrum muftaranw wa maa sami'naa bihaazaa feee aabaaa'inal awwaleen

But when Moses came to them with Our clear signs they said: "This is nothing but magic he has contrived, for we have not heard of this from our fathers of old."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 36

"وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ رَبِّي أَعْلَمُ بِمَنْ جَاءَ بِالْهُدَىٰ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ وَمَنْ تَكُونُ لَهُ عَاقِبَةُ الدَّارِ ۖ إِنَّهُ لَا يُفْلِحُ الظَّالِمُونَ"

Wa qaala Moosaa Rabbeee a'alamu biman jaaa'a bilhudaa min 'indihee wa man takoonu lahoo 'aaqibatud daari innahoo laa yuflihuz zaalimoon

But Moses said: "My Lord knows well who has come with guidance from Him, and for whom is the guerdon of Paradise. But surely the wicked will not prosper."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 37

"وَقَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ يَا أَيُّهَا الْمَلَأُ مَا عَلِمْتُ لَكُمْ مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرِي فَأَوْقِدْ لِي يَا هَامَانُ عَلَى الطِّينِ فَاجْعَلْ لِي صَرْحًا لَعَلِّي أَطَّلِعُ إِلَىٰ إِلَٰهِ مُوسَىٰ وَإِنِّي لَأَظُنُّهُ مِنَ الْكَاذِبِينَ"

Wa qaala Fir'awnu yaaa aiyuhal mala-u maa 'alimtu lakum min ilaahin ghairee fa awqid lee yaa Haamaanu 'alatteeni faj'al lee sarhal la'alleee attali'u ilaaa ilaahi Moosaa wa innee la azunnuhoo minal kaazibeen

The Pharaoh said: "O nobles, I am not aware of any other lord of yours but myself. So, O Haman, fire some clay (bricks) to build a tower for me that I may mount up (and see) the God of Moses; for I think he is a liar."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 38

"وَاسْتَكْبَرَ هُوَ وَجُنُودُهُ فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَظَنُّوا أَنَّهُمْ إِلَيْنَا لَا يُرْجَعُونَ"

Wastakbara huwa wa junooduhoo fil ardi bighairil haqqi wa zannooo annahum ilainaa laa yurja'oon

He and his soldiers had become arrogant in the land for no reason, and did not think that they have to come back to Us in the end.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 39

"فَأَخَذْنَاهُ وَجُنُودَهُ فَنَبَذْنَاهُمْ فِي الْيَمِّ ۖ فَانْظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الظَّالِمِينَ"

Fa akhaznaahu wa junoo dahoo fanabaznaahum fil yammi fanzur kaifa kaana 'aaqibatuz zaalimeen

So We seized him and his hordes and threw them into the sea. Behold then how was the end of the wicked!

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 40

"وَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ أَئِمَّةً يَدْعُونَ إِلَى النَّارِ ۖ وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ لَا يُنْصَرُونَ"

Wa ja'alnaahum a'immatany yad'oona ilan Naari wa Yawmal Qiyaamati laa yunsaroon

We made them the leaders of those who call to Hell; and on the Day of Judgement they will not be helped.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 41

"وَأَتْبَعْنَاهُمْ فِي هَٰذِهِ الدُّنْيَا لَعْنَةً ۖ وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ هُمْ مِنَ الْمَقْبُوحِينَ"

Wa atba'naahum fee haazihid dunyaa la'natanw wa Yawmal Qiyaamati hum minal maqbooheen (section 4)

A curse lies upon them in this world, and on the Day of Resurrection they will be despised.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 42

"وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا أَهْلَكْنَا الْقُرُونَ الْأُولَىٰ بَصَائِرَ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ"

Wa laqad aatainaa Moosal Kitaaba mim ba'di maaa ahlaknal quroonal oolaa basaaa'ira linnaasi wa hudanw wa rahmatal la'allahum yata zakkkaroon

After We had destroyed the earlier generations We gave Moses the Book as evidence for mankind, and a guidance and grace, so that they may remember.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 43

"وَمَا كُنْتَ بِجَانِبِ الْغَرْبِيِّ إِذْ قَضَيْنَا إِلَىٰ مُوسَى الْأَمْرَ وَمَا كُنْتَ مِنَ الشَّاهِدِينَ"

Wa maa kunta bijaanibil gharbiyyi iz qadainaaa ilaa Moosal amra wa maa kunta minash shaahideen

You were not there on the western side (of Mount Sinai) when We gave the commandments to Moses, nor were you witness (to the event).

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 44

"وَلَٰكِنَّا أَنْشَأْنَا قُرُونًا فَتَطَاوَلَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْعُمُرُ ۚ وَمَا كُنْتَ ثَاوِيًا فِي أَهْلِ مَدْيَنَ تَتْلُو عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتِنَا وَلَٰكِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَ"

Wa laakinnaa anshaanaa quroonan fatataawala 'alaihimul 'umur; wa maa kunta saawiyan feee ahli Madyana tatloo 'alaihim Aayaatinaa wa laakinnaa kunnaa mursileen

We raised (many more) generations and prolonged their lives. You did not live with the people of Midian, nor recited to them Our revelations; but We kept on sending messengers.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 45

"وَمَا كُنْتَ بِجَانِبِ الطُّورِ إِذْ نَادَيْنَا وَلَٰكِنْ رَحْمَةً مِنْ رَبِّكَ لِتُنْذِرَ قَوْمًا مَا أَتَاهُمْ مِنْ نَذِيرٍ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ"

Wa maa kunta bijaanibit Toori iz naadainaa wa laakir rahmatam mir Rabbika litunzira qawmam maaa ataahum min nazeerim min qablika la'allahum yatazakkaroon

You were not present on the side of Mount Sinai when We called. And all this (knowledge that you are given) is by the grace of your Lord so that you may warn a people to whom no admonisher had come before you, that they may take heed;

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 46

"وَلَوْلَا أَنْ تُصِيبَهُمْ مُصِيبَةٌ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ فَيَقُولُوا رَبَّنَا لَوْلَا أَرْسَلْتَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولًا فَنَتَّبِعَ آيَاتِكَ وَنَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ"

Wa law laaa an tuseebahum museebatum bimaa qaddamat aideehim fa yaqooloo Rabbanaa law laaa arsalta ilainaa Rasoolan fanattabi'a Aayaatika wa nakoona minal mu'mineen

And in case disaster comes upon them for what they have done themselves, they should say: "O Lord, why did You not send an apostle to us that we should have followed Your commands, and been with those who are believers;"

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 47

"فَلَمَّا جَاءَهُمُ الْحَقُّ مِنْ عِنْدِنَا قَالُوا لَوْلَا أُوتِيَ مِثْلَ مَا أُوتِيَ مُوسَىٰ ۚ أَوَلَمْ يَكْفُرُوا بِمَا أُوتِيَ مُوسَىٰ مِنْ قَبْلُ ۖ قَالُوا سِحْرَانِ تَظَاهَرَا وَقَالُوا إِنَّا بِكُلٍّ كَافِرُونَ"

Falammaa jaaa'ahumul haqqu min 'indinaa qaaloo law laa ootiya misla maaa ootiyaa Moosaa; awalam yakfuroo bimaaa ootiya Moosaa min qablu qaaloo sihraani tazaaharaa wa qaalooo innaa bikullin kaafiroon

But when the truth came to them from Us, they said: "Why is he not given the like of what was given to Moses?" Did they not disbelieve before in what was given to Moses? They said: "Both are imposters one like the other," and added: "We do not believe in either."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 48

"قُلْ فَأْتُوا بِكِتَابٍ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ هُوَ أَهْدَىٰ مِنْهُمَا أَتَّبِعْهُ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ"

Qul faatoo bi Kitaabim min 'indil laahi huwa ahdaa minhu maaa attabi'hu in kuntum saadiqeen

Say: "Then bring a Book from God which gives better guidance than these so that I may follow it, if you speak the truth."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 49

"فَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا لَكَ فَاعْلَمْ أَنَّمَا يَتَّبِعُونَ أَهْوَاءَهُمْ ۚ وَمَنْ أَضَلُّ مِمَّنِ اتَّبَعَ هَوَاهُ بِغَيْرِ هُدًى مِنَ اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ"

Fa il lam yastajeeboo laka fa'lam annamaa yattabi'oona ahwaaa'ahum; wa man adallu mimmanit taba'a hawaahu bighari hudam minal laah; innal laaha laa yahdil qawmaz zaalimeen (section 5)

Then, if they cannot give you an answer, know that they are only following their lusts. And who can be farther astray than he who follows his lust without any guidance from God? And certainly God does not guide an unjust people.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 50

"۞ وَلَقَدْ وَصَّلْنَا لَهُمُ الْقَوْلَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ"

Wa laqad wassalnaa lahumul qawla la'allahum yatazakkaroon

We have been sending word to them that they may take a warning.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 51

"الَّذِينَ آتَيْنَاهُمُ الْكِتَابَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِ هُمْ بِهِ يُؤْمِنُونَ"

Allazeena aatainaahu mul Kitaaba min qablihee hum bihee yu'minoon

Those to whom We gave the Book before this do believe in it;

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 52

"وَإِذَا يُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ قَالُوا آمَنَّا بِهِ إِنَّهُ الْحَقُّ مِنْ رَبِّنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا مِنْ قَبْلِهِ مُسْلِمِينَ"

Wa izaa yutlaa 'alaihim qaaloo aamannaa biheee innahul haqqu mir rabbinaaa innaa kunnaa min qablihee muslimeen

And when it is read out to them, say: "We believe in it. It?s the truth from our Lord. We had committed ourselves before it came."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 53

"أُولَٰئِكَ يُؤْتَوْنَ أَجْرَهُمْ مَرَّتَيْنِ بِمَا صَبَرُوا وَيَدْرَءُونَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ السَّيِّئَةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنْفِقُونَ"

Ulaaa'ika yu'tawna ajrahum marratayni bimaa sabaroo wa yadra'oona bil hasanatis saiyi'ata wa mimmmaa razaq naahum yunfiqoon

These will be given their recompense twice, for they persevered and repelled evil with good, and spent of what We had given them.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 54

"وَإِذَا سَمِعُوا اللَّغْوَ أَعْرَضُوا عَنْهُ وَقَالُوا لَنَا أَعْمَالُنَا وَلَكُمْ أَعْمَالُكُمْ سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكُمْ لَا نَبْتَغِي الْجَاهِلِينَ"

Wa izaa sami'ul laghwa a'radoo 'anhu wa qaaloo lanaaa a'maalunaa wa lakum a'maalukum salaamun 'alaikum laa nabtaghil jaahileen

When they hear idle talk they turn aside and say: "To us our actions, to you yours. Peace on you; we do not look for the ignorant."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 55

"إِنَّكَ لَا تَهْدِي مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ وَلَٰكِنَّ اللَّهَ يَهْدِي مَنْ يَشَاءُ ۚ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِالْمُهْتَدِينَ"

Innaka laa tahdee man ahbata wa laakinna laaha yahdee mai yashaaa'; wa Huwaa'lamu bilmuhtadeen

You cannot guide any one you like: God guides whosoever He please. He knows best who will come to guidance.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 56

"وَقَالُوا إِنْ نَتَّبِعِ الْهُدَىٰ مَعَكَ نُتَخَطَّفْ مِنْ أَرْضِنَا ۚ أَوَلَمْ نُمَكِّنْ لَهُمْ حَرَمًا آمِنًا يُجْبَىٰ إِلَيْهِ ثَمَرَاتُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ رِزْقًا مِنْ لَدُنَّا وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ"

Wa qaalooo in nattabi'il hudaa ma'aka nutakhattaf min ardinaa; awalam numakkkil lahum haraman aaminany yujbaaa ilaihi samaraatu kulli shai'ir rizqam mil ladunnaa wa laakinna aksarahum laa ya'lamoon

They say: "If we followed your guidance we would be driven from the land by force." Have We not set up a sanctuary for them, to which is brought a wealth of everything as provision from Us? But most of them do not understand.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 57

"وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِنْ قَرْيَةٍ بَطِرَتْ مَعِيشَتَهَا ۖ فَتِلْكَ مَسَاكِنُهُمْ لَمْ تُسْكَنْ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا ۖ وَكُنَّا نَحْنُ الْوَارِثِينَ"

Wa kam ahlaknaa min qaryatim batirat ma'eeshatahaa fatilka masaainuhum lam tuskam mim ba'dihim illaa qaleelaa; wa kunnaa Nahnul waariseen

How many habitations that had come to boast of their resources have We destroyed? These their dwellings were never inhabited except rarely after them; and they came back to Us.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 58

"وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ مُهْلِكَ الْقُرَىٰ حَتَّىٰ يَبْعَثَ فِي أُمِّهَا رَسُولًا يَتْلُو عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتِنَا ۚ وَمَا كُنَّا مُهْلِكِي الْقُرَىٰ إِلَّا وَأَهْلُهَا ظَالِمُونَ"

Wa maa kaana Rabbuka muhlikal quraa hattaa yab'asa feee ummihaa Rasoolany yatloo 'alaihim aayaatina; wa maa kunnaa muhlikil quraaa illaa wa ahluhaa zaalimoon

But your Lord does not destroy habitations without having sent an apostle to their metropolis to read out Our commandments to them. We would never have destroyed cities if their inhabitants were not given to wickedness.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 59

"وَمَا أُوتِيتُمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ فَمَتَاعُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَزِينَتُهَا ۚ وَمَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰ ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ"

Wa maaa ooteetum min shai'in famataa'ul hayaatid dunyaa wa zeenatuhaa; wa maa 'indal laahi khairunw wa abqaa; afalaa ta'qiloon (section 6)

Whatsoever has been given you is the stuff this life is made of, and only its embellishment. What is with your Lord is better and abiding. Will you not understand?

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 60

"أَفَمَنْ وَعَدْنَاهُ وَعْدًا حَسَنًا فَهُوَ لَاقِيهِ كَمَنْ مَتَّعْنَاهُ مَتَاعَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ثُمَّ هُوَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنَ الْمُحْضَرِينَ"

Afamanw wa'adnaahu wa'dan hasanan fahuwa laaqeehi kamam matta'naahu mataa'al hayaatid dunyaa summa huwa Yawmal Qiyaamati minal muhdareen

Can one who was given a better promise, which he will find come true, be like him who was given a little enjoyment of this life, but who will afterwards be brought (to judgement) on the Day of Resurrection?

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 61

"وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيهِمْ فَيَقُولُ أَيْنَ شُرَكَائِيَ الَّذِينَ كُنْتُمْ تَزْعُمُونَ"

Wa Yawma yunaadeehim fa-yaqoolu aina shurakaaa 'iyal lazeena kuntum taz'umoon

That day God will call them and ask: "Where are they you imagined were My compeers?"

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 62

"قَالَ الَّذِينَ حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقَوْلُ رَبَّنَا هَٰؤُلَاءِ الَّذِينَ أَغْوَيْنَا أَغْوَيْنَاهُمْ كَمَا غَوَيْنَا ۖ تَبَرَّأْنَا إِلَيْكَ ۖ مَا كَانُوا إِيَّانَا يَعْبُدُونَ"

Qaalal lazeena haqqa 'alaihimul qawlu Rabbanaa haaa'ulaaa'il lazeena aghwainaa aghwainaahu kamaa ghawainaa tabarraanaaa ilaika maa kaanoo iyyaanaa ya'budoon

Those against whom the sentence is justified will say: "O Lord, these are those we had led astray as we had ourselves gone astray. We clear ourselves before You: They never worshipped us."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 63

"وَقِيلَ ادْعُوا شُرَكَاءَكُمْ فَدَعَوْهُمْ فَلَمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا لَهُمْ وَرَأَوُا الْعَذَابَ ۚ لَوْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يَهْتَدُونَ"

Wa qeelad 'oo shurakaaa'akum fada'awhum falam yastajeeboo lahum wa ra awul 'azaab; law annahum kaanoo yahtadoon

(The sinners) will be told: "Invoke your partners." They will call on them, but they will not answer; and they will see the torment (and wish) if only they had come to guidance.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 64

"وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيهِمْ فَيَقُولُ مَاذَا أَجَبْتُمُ الْمُرْسَلِينَ"

Wa Yawma yunaadeehim fa yaqoolu maazaaa ajabtumul mursaleen

(God) will ask them on that day: "What answer did you give the apostles?"

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 65

"فَعَمِيَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الْأَنْبَاءُ يَوْمَئِذٍ فَهُمْ لَا يَتَسَاءَلُونَ"

Fa'amiyat 'alaihimul ambaaa'u Yawma'izin fahum laa yatasaaa'aloon

Then all news will be blacked out for them, and they will not even ask one another.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 66

"فَأَمَّا مَنْ تَابَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَعَسَىٰ أَنْ يَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُفْلِحِينَ"

Fa ammaa man taaba wa aamana wa 'amila saalihan fa'asaaa ai yakoona minal mufliheen

But he who repents and believes and does good things may well be among the successful.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 67

"وَرَبُّكَ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَاءُ وَيَخْتَارُ ۗ مَا كَانَ لَهُمُ الْخِيَرَةُ ۚ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَتَعَالَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ"

Wa Rabbuka yakhuluqu maa yashaaa'u wa yakhtaar; maa kaana lahumul khiyarah; Subhannal laahi wa Ta'aalaa 'ammmaa yushrikoon

Your Lord creates what He wills and chooses. The good is not for them to choose. Too holy and high is God for what they associate with Him.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 68

"وَرَبُّكَ يَعْلَمُ مَا تُكِنُّ صُدُورُهُمْ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ"

Wa Rabbuka ya'lamu maa tukinnu sudooruhum wa maa yu'linoon

Your Lord well knows what they hide in their breasts and what they disclose.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 69

"وَهُوَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ لَهُ الْحَمْدُ فِي الْأُولَىٰ وَالْآخِرَةِ ۖ وَلَهُ الْحُكْمُ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ"

Wa Huwal laahu laaa ilaaha illaa Huwa lahul hamdu fil oolaa wal Aakhirati wa lahul hukmu wa ilaihi turja'oon

He is God. There is no god but He. His alone is praise first and last, and His the judgement, and to Him will you be brought back in the end.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 70

"قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ جَعَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمُ اللَّيْلَ سَرْمَدًا إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ مَنْ إِلَٰهٌ غَيْرُ اللَّهِ يَأْتِيكُمْ بِضِيَاءٍ ۖ أَفَلَا تَسْمَعُونَ"

Qul ara'aitum in ja'alal laahu 'alaikumul laila sarmadan ilaa Yawmil Qiyaamati man ilaahun ghairul laahi yaa teekum bidiyaaa'in afalaa tasma'oon

Say: "Just think, if God were to cover you up with night for ever until the Day of Doom, what other god apart from God will give you light? Why do you not pay heed?"

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 71

"قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ جَعَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمُ النَّهَارَ سَرْمَدًا إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ مَنْ إِلَٰهٌ غَيْرُ اللَّهِ يَأْتِيكُمْ بِلَيْلٍ تَسْكُنُونَ فِيهِ ۖ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ"

Qul ara'aitum in ja'alal laahu 'alaikumun nahaara sarmadan ilaa Yawmil Qiyaamati man ilaahun ghairul laahi yaateekum bilailin taskunoona feehi afalaa tubsiroon

Say: "Just think. If God were to make the day perpetual till the Day of Resurrection, what other god but God would bring you night for rest? Why do you not reflect?

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 72

"وَمِنْ رَحْمَتِهِ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ لِتَسْكُنُوا فِيهِ وَلِتَبْتَغُوا مِنْ فَضْلِهِ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ"

Wa mir rahmatihee ja'ala lakumul laila wannahaara litaskunoo feehi wa litabtaghoo min fadlihee wa la'allakum tashkuroon

Yet in His benevolence He made you night and day that you may rest and seek His bounty during them, and haply maybe grateful."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 73

"وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيهِمْ فَيَقُولُ أَيْنَ شُرَكَائِيَ الَّذِينَ كُنْتُمْ تَزْعُمُونَ"

Wa Yawma yunaadeehim fa yaqoolu aina shurakaaa'iyal lazeena kuntum tazz'umoon

Upon a day He will call them and ask: "Where are they you imagined were My compeers?"

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 74

"وَنَزَعْنَا مِنْ كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ شَهِيدًا فَقُلْنَا هَاتُوا بُرْهَانَكُمْ فَعَلِمُوا أَنَّ الْحَقَّ لِلَّهِ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُمْ مَا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ"

Wa naza'naa min kulli ummatin shaheedan faqulnaa haatoo burhaanakum fa'alimooo annal haqqa lillaahi wa dalla 'anhum maa kaanoo yaftaroon (section 7)

And We shall single out one witness from each community and say: "Bring your proof." Then will they know that God?s is the judgement, and what they contrived will avail them not in the least.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 75

"۞ إِنَّ قَارُونَ كَانَ مِنْ قَوْمِ مُوسَىٰ فَبَغَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ۖ وَآتَيْنَاهُ مِنَ الْكُنُوزِ مَا إِنَّ مَفَاتِحَهُ لَتَنُوءُ بِالْعُصْبَةِ أُولِي الْقُوَّةِ إِذْ قَالَ لَهُ قَوْمُهُ لَا تَفْرَحْ ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الْفَرِحِينَ"

Inna Qaaroona kaana min qawmi Moosaa fabaghaaa 'alaihim wa aatainaahu minal kunoozi maaa inna mafaati hahoo latanooo'u bil'usbati ulil quwwati iz qaala lahoo qawmuhoo laa tafrah innal laahaa laa yuhibbul fariheen

Verily Qarun was of Moses? people, but he began to oppress them. We had given him treasures, so many that a team of wrestlers could hardly lift their keys. His people said to him: "Do not be exultant. God does not like those who exult.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 76

"وَابْتَغِ فِيمَا آتَاكَ اللَّهُ الدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ ۖ وَلَا تَنْسَ نَصِيبَكَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَأَحْسِنْ كَمَا أَحْسَنَ اللَّهُ إِلَيْكَ ۖ وَلَا تَبْغِ الْفَسَادَ فِي الْأَرْضِ ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُفْسِدِينَ"

Wabtaghi feemaaa aataakal laahud Daaral Aakhirata wa laa tansa naseebaka minad dunyaa wa ahsin kamaaa ahsanal laahu ilaika wa laa tabghil fasaada fil ardi innal laaha laa yuhibbul mufsideen

So seek the abode of the Hereafter through what God has given you, and do not forget your part in this world. Do good to others as God has done good to you, and do not try to spread corruption in the land. Surely God does not like corrupters."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 77

"قَالَ إِنَّمَا أُوتِيتُهُ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عِنْدِي ۚ أَوَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ أَنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَهْلَكَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِ مِنَ الْقُرُونِ مَنْ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُ قُوَّةً وَأَكْثَرُ جَمْعًا ۚ وَلَا يُسْأَلُ عَنْ ذُنُوبِهِمُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ"

Qaala innamaaa ootee tuhoo 'alaa 'ilmin 'indeee; awalam ya'lam annal laaha qad ahlaka min qablihee minal qurooni man huwa ashaddu minhu quwwatanw wa aksaru jam'aa; wa laa yus'alu 'an zunoobihimul mujrimoon

He said: "This has come to me through my own acumen." Did he not know that God had destroyed many generations before him who possessed far more acumen than he, and more wealth? The sinners will not be asked about their sins.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 78

"قَالَ إِنَّمَا أُوتِيتُهُ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عِنْدِي ۚ أَوَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ أَنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَهْلَكَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِ مِنَ الْقُرُونِ مَنْ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُ قُوَّةً وَأَكْثَرُ جَمْعًا ۚ وَلَا يُسْأَلُ عَنْ ذُنُوبِهِمُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ"

Fakharaja 'alaa qawmihee fee zeenatih; qaalal lazeena yureedoonal hayaatad dunyaa yaalaita lanaa misla maaa ootiya Qaaroonu innahoo lazoo hazzin 'azeem

Then he came before his people in all pomp; and those enamoured of this world, said: "Ah would that we had what Qarun has been given! He indeed possesses great good fortune."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 79

"وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ وَيْلَكُمْ ثَوَابُ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ لِمَنْ آمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا وَلَا يُلَقَّاهَا إِلَّا الصَّابِرُونَ"

Wa qaalal lazeena ootul 'ilma wailakum sawaabul laahi khairul liman aamana wa 'amila saalihaa; wa laa yulaq qaahaaa illas saabiroon

But those who knew better, said: "Alack-a-day! God?s guerdon is better for those who believe and do the right. Only those who persevere will receive it."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 80

"فَخَسَفْنَا بِهِ وَبِدَارِهِ الْأَرْضَ فَمَا كَانَ لَهُ مِنْ فِئَةٍ يَنْصُرُونَهُ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُنْتَصِرِينَ"

Fakhasafnaa bihee wa bidaarihil arda famaa kaana laho min fi'atiny yansuroo nahoo min doonil laahi wa maa kaana minal muntasireen

So We opened up the earth and sunk him and his mansion. There was not a body that could help him against (the will) of God, nor was he able to save himself.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 81

"وَأَصْبَحَ الَّذِينَ تَمَنَّوْا مَكَانَهُ بِالْأَمْسِ يَقُولُونَ وَيْكَأَنَّ اللَّهَ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ وَيَقْدِرُ ۖ لَوْلَا أَنْ مَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا لَخَسَفَ بِنَا ۖ وَيْكَأَنَّهُ لَا يُفْلِحُ الْكَافِرُونَ"

Wa asbahal lazeena tamannaw makaanahoo bil amsi yaqooloona waika annal laaha yabsutur rizqa limany ya shaaa'u min 'ibaadihee wa yaqdiru law laaa am mannal laahu 'alainaa lakhasafa binaa waika annahoo laa yuflihul kaafiroon (section 8)

Those who were envious of his position only yesterday said on the morrow: "Indeed God increases the fortunes of those of His creatures as He will, and decreases. Had God not been gracious to us He could have (opened up) the earth and made it swallow us. Surely the infidels will not succeed."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 82

"تِلْكَ الدَّارُ الْآخِرَةُ نَجْعَلُهَا لِلَّذِينَ لَا يُرِيدُونَ عُلُوًّا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فَسَادًا ۚ وَالْعَاقِبَةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ"

Tilkad Daarul Aakhiratu naj'aluhaa lillazeena laa yureedoona 'uluwwan fil ardi wa laa fasaadaa; wal 'aaqibatu lilmuttaqeen

We shall give the mansion of the Hereafter to those who do not want to be haughty in the land and spread corruption. The future belongs to those who take heed for themselves and follow the straight path.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 83

"مَنْ جَاءَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُ خَيْرٌ مِنْهَا ۖ وَمَنْ جَاءَ بِالسَّيِّئَةِ فَلَا يُجْزَى الَّذِينَ عَمِلُوا السَّيِّئَاتِ إِلَّا مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ"

Man jaaa'a bilhasanati falahoo khairum minhaa wa man jaaa'a bissaiyi'ati falaa yujzal lazeena 'amilus saiyiaati illaa maa kaanoo ya'maloon

Whoever does good will receive better than what he has done; and whoever does ill shall be requited but to the extent of what he does.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 84

"إِنَّ الَّذِي فَرَضَ عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْآنَ لَرَادُّكَ إِلَىٰ مَعَادٍ ۚ قُلْ رَبِّي أَعْلَمُ مَنْ جَاءَ بِالْهُدَىٰ وَمَنْ هُوَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُبِينٍ"

Innal azee farada 'alaikal Qur-aana laraaadduka ilaa ma'aad; qur Rabbeee a'lamu man jjaaa'a bil hudaa wa man huwa fee dalaalim mubeen

He who has assigned (the propagation) of the Qur?an to you will bring you back to the destination. Say: "My Lord knows who has come to guidance, and who is clearly in error."

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 85

"وَمَا كُنْتَ تَرْجُو أَنْ يُلْقَىٰ إِلَيْكَ الْكِتَابُ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً مِنْ رَبِّكَ ۖ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ ظَهِيرًا لِلْكَافِرِينَ"

Wa maa kunta tarjooo ai yulqaaa ilaikal Kitaabu illaa rahmatam mir Rabbika falaa takoonanna zaheeral lilkaafireen

You did not expect that the Book would be given to you except by the favour of your Lord. So do not be the helper of unbelievers,

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 86

"وَلَا يَصُدُّنَّكَ عَنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ بَعْدَ إِذْ أُنْزِلَتْ إِلَيْكَ ۖ وَادْعُ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ۖ وَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ"

Wa laa yasuddunnaka 'an Aayaatil laahi ba'da iz unzilat ilaika wad'u ilaa Rabbika wa laa takonanna minal mushrikeen

Nor should you let them turn you away from the commandments of God once they have been delivered to you; and call them to your Lord, and do not be an idolater,

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 87

"وَلَا تَدْعُ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا آخَرَ ۘ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۚ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ هَالِكٌ إِلَّا وَجْهَهُ ۚ لَهُ الْحُكْمُ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ"

Wa laa tad'u ma'al laahi ilaahan aakhar; laaa ilaaha illaa Hoo; kullu shai'in haalikun illaa Wajhah; lahul hukkmu wa ilaihi turja'oon (section 9)

And do not call on any other god apart from God. There is no god but He. All things will perish save His magnificence. His is the judgement, and to Him will you be brought back in the end.

Surah Number : 28 , Ayat Number : 88

الم

Alif-Laaam-Meeem    

ALIF LAM MIM.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 1

"أَحَسِبَ النَّاسُ أَنْ يُتْرَكُوا أَنْ يَقُولُوا آمَنَّا وَهُمْ لَا يُفْتَنُونَ"

Ahasiban naasu anyu yutrakooo any yaqoolooo aamannaa wa hum la yuftanoon

Do men think they will get away by saying: "We believe," and will not be tried?

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 2

"وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ ۖ فَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ الْكَاذِبِينَ"

Wa laqad fatannal lazeena min qablihim fala ya'lamannal laahul lazeena sadaqoo wa la ya'lamannal kaazibeen

We had tried those who were before them so that God knew who spoke the truth, and who were liars.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 3

"أَمْ حَسِبَ الَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ السَّيِّئَاتِ أَنْ يَسْبِقُونَا ۚ سَاءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ"

Am hasibal lazeena ya'maloonas sayyiaati any yasbiqoonaa; saaa'a maa yahkumoon

Do those who do evil think that they will get the better of Us? How bad is the judgement that they make!

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 4

"مَنْ كَانَ يَرْجُو لِقَاءَ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّ أَجَلَ اللَّهِ لَآتٍ ۚ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ"

Man kaana yarjoo liqaaa 'allaahi fa inna ajalal laahi laaat; wa Huwass Sameeul 'Aleem

He who hopes to meet God (should know) that God?s appointed time will surely come. He is all-hearing and all-knowing.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 5

"وَمَنْ جَاهَدَ فَإِنَّمَا يُجَاهِدُ لِنَفْسِهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَغَنِيٌّ عَنِ الْعَالَمِينَ"

Wa man jaahada fainnamaa yujaahidu linafsih; innal laaha laghaniyyun 'anil 'aalameen

He who strives does so for himself. Verily God is independent of the creatures of the world.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 6

"وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَنُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَحْسَنَ الَّذِي كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ"

Wallazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati lanukaf firanna 'anhum saiyiaatihim wa lanajziyannahum ahsanal lazee kaanoo ya'maloon

We shall pardon the sinful deeds of those who believe and do the right, and give them a reward better than their deeds.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 7

"وَوَصَّيْنَا الْإِنْسَانَ بِوَالِدَيْهِ حُسْنًا ۖ وَإِنْ جَاهَدَاكَ لِتُشْرِكَ بِي مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَا ۚ إِلَيَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ"

Wa wassainal insaana biwaalidaihi husnanw wa in jaahadaaka litushrika bee maa laisa laka bihee 'ilmun falaa tuti'humaa; ilaiya marji'ukum fa unabbi'ukum bimaa kuntum ta'maloon

We have enjoined on man to be good to his parents; but if they try to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, then do not obey them. You have to come back to Us, when I will tell you what you used to do.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 8

"وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَنُدْخِلَنَّهُمْ فِي الصَّالِحِينَ"

Wallazeena aamanoo w a'amilus saalihaati lanudkhilan nahum fis saaliheen

We shall admit those who believe and do the right among the righteous.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 9

"وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يَقُولُ آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ فَإِذَا أُوذِيَ فِي اللَّهِ جَعَلَ فِتْنَةَ النَّاسِ كَعَذَابِ اللَّهِ وَلَئِنْ جَاءَ نَصْرٌ مِنْ رَبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّا كُنَّا مَعَكُمْ ۚ أَوَلَيْسَ اللَّهُ بِأَعْلَمَ بِمَا فِي صُدُورِ الْعَالَمِينَ"

Wa minan naasi many yaqoolu aamannaa billaahi faizaaa ooziya fil laahi ja'ala fitnatan naasi ka'azaabil laahi wa la'in jaaa'a nasrum mir Rabbika la yaqoolunna innaa kunnaa ma'akum; awa laisal laahu bi a'lama bimaa fee sudooril 'aalameen

There are among men those who say: "We believe in God;" yet if they happen to suffer in the cause of God they take oppression by men as punishment from God. And if help comes to them from your Lord, they say: "We were with you." Does not God know what is hidden in the hearts of men?

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 10

"وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ"

Wa la ya'lamannal laahul lazeena aamanoo wa la ya'lamannal munaafiqeen

God will surely know the believers and know the hypocrites.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 11

"وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّبِعُوا سَبِيلَنَا وَلْنَحْمِلْ خَطَايَاكُمْ وَمَا هُمْ بِحَامِلِينَ مِنْ خَطَايَاهُمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ"

Wa qaalal lazeena kafaroo lillazeena aamanut tabi'oo sabeelanaa walnahmil khataayaakum wa maa hum bihaamileena min khataa yaahum min shai'in innahum lakaaziboon

Those who deny say to those who affirm: "Follow our way; we shall carry the burden of your sins." But they cannot carry the burden of their sins in the least. They are liars indeed.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 12

"وَلَيَحْمِلُنَّ أَثْقَالَهُمْ وَأَثْقَالًا مَعَ أَثْقَالِهِمْ ۖ وَلَيُسْأَلُنَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَمَّا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ"

Wa la yahmilunna asqaa lahum wa asqaalam ma'a asqaalihim wa la yus'alunna Yawmal Qiyaamati 'ammaa kaanoo yaftaroon (section 1)

They will carry their own loads and other loads besides their own; and will surely be questioned on the Day of Resurrection about what they contrived.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 13

"وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ فَلَبِثَ فِيهِمْ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ إِلَّا خَمْسِينَ عَامًا فَأَخَذَهُمُ الطُّوفَانُ وَهُمْ ظَالِمُونَ"

Wa laqad arsalnaa Noohan ilaa qawmihee falabisa feehim alfa sanatin illaa khamseena 'aaman fa akhazahumut toofaanu wa hum zaalimoon

We sent Noah to his people, and he lived with them a thousand years minus fifty. Then they were caught by the deluge for they were evil.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 14

"فَأَنْجَيْنَاهُ وَأَصْحَابَ السَّفِينَةِ وَجَعَلْنَاهَا آيَةً لِلْعَالَمِينَ"

Fa anjainaahu wa as haabas safeenati wa ja'alnaahaaa Aayatal lil'aalameen

But We saved him and those with him in the ark, and made it a sign for the creatures of the world.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 15

"وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَاتَّقُوهُ ۖ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ"

Wa Ibraheema iz qaala liqawmihi' budul laaha wattaqoohu zaalikum khayrul lakum in kuntum ta'lamoon

And (remember) Abraham who said to his people: "Worship God and be obedient to Him. This is better for you if you understand.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 16

"إِنَّمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ أَوْثَانًا وَتَخْلُقُونَ إِفْكًا ۚ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ تَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ لَكُمْ رِزْقًا فَابْتَغُوا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ الرِّزْقَ وَاعْبُدُوهُ وَاشْكُرُوا لَهُ ۖ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ"

Innamaa ta'bdoona min doonil laahi awsaananw-wa takhluqoona ifkaa; innal lazeena ta'budoona min doonil laahi laa yamlikoona lakum rizqan fabtaghoo 'indal laahir rizqa fabtaghoo 'indal laahir rizqa wa'budoohu washkuroo lahooo ilaihi turja'oon

You worship idols in place of God and invent lies. Surely those you worship other than God have no power over your means of livelihood. So seek your sustenance from God, and worship Him and give Him thanks. To Him will you be brought back in the end.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 17

"وَإِنْ تُكَذِّبُوا فَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أُمَمٌ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ ۖ وَمَا عَلَى الرَّسُولِ إِلَّا الْبَلَاغُ الْمُبِينُ"

Wa in tukazziboo faqad kazzaba umamum min qablikum wa maa'alar Rasooli illal balaaghul mubeen

But if you deny, then many a people have denied before you. The duty of the apostle is to convey the message clearly."

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 18

"أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا كَيْفَ يُبْدِئُ اللَّهُ الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُ ۚ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ يَسِيرٌ"\

Awa lam yaraw kaifa yubdi'ul laahul khalqa summa yu'eeduh; inna zaalika 'alal laahi yaseer

Do they not see how God originates creation, then reverts it back? This is indeed how inevitably the law of God works;

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 19

"قُلْ سِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَانْظُرُوا كَيْفَ بَدَأَ الْخَلْقَ ۚ ثُمَّ اللَّهُ يُنْشِئُ النَّشْأَةَ الْآخِرَةَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ"

Qul seeroo fil ardi fanzuroo kaifa baa al khalqa summal laahu yunshi''un nash atal Aakhirah; innal laaha 'alaa kulli shai'in Qadeer

Say: "Travel on the earth and see how He originated creation. Then (you will know) how God will raise the last raising (of the dead). Surely God has power over everything,

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 20

"يُعَذِّبُ مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَيَرْحَمُ مَنْ يَشَاءُ ۖ وَإِلَيْهِ تُقْلَبُونَ"

Yu'azzibu many yashaaa'u wa yarhamu many yashaaa'; wa ilaihi tuqlaboon

Punish whom He will, and have mercy on whom He please. And to Him will you be brought back in the end.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 21

"وَمَا أَنْتُمْ بِمُعْجِزِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ ۖ وَمَا لَكُمْ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ مِنْ وَلِيٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ"

Wa maaa antum bimu'jizeena fil ardi wa laa fissamaaa'i wa maa lakum min doonil laahi minw waliyyinw wa laa naseer (section 2)

Escape Him you cannot either in the earth or in the sky; and you have no friend or helper apart from God.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 22

"وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَلِقَائِهِ أُولَٰئِكَ يَئِسُوا مِنْ رَحْمَتِي وَأُولَٰئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ"

Wallazeena kafaroo bi Aayaatil laahi wa liqaaa'iheee ulaaa'ika ya'isoo mir rahmatee wa ulaaa'ika lahum 'azaabun aleem

Those who deny the signs of God and the meeting with Him, cannot have hope of My mercy. There is a painful punishment for them.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 23

"فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِ إِلَّا أَنْ قَالُوا اقْتُلُوهُ أَوْ حَرِّقُوهُ فَأَنْجَاهُ اللَّهُ مِنَ النَّارِ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ"

Famaa kaana jawaaba qawmiheee illaaa an qaaluqtuloohu aw harriqoohu faanjaahul laahu minan naar; inna fee zaalika la Aayaatil laqawminy yu'minoon

The people (of Abraham) had no answer except: "Kill him or burn him;" but God saved him from the fire. There are lessons in this for those who believe.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 24

"وَقَالَ إِنَّمَا اتَّخَذْتُمْ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ أَوْثَانًا مَوَدَّةَ بَيْنِكُمْ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۖ ثُمَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَكْفُرُ بَعْضُكُمْ بِبَعْضٍ وَيَلْعَنُ بَعْضُكُمْ بَعْضًا وَمَأْوَاكُمُ النَّارُ وَمَا لَكُمْ مِنْ نَاصِرِينَ"

Wa qaala innamat takhaz tum min doonil laahi awsaanam mawaddata bainikum fil hayaatid dunyaa summa yawmal qiyaamati yakfuru ba'dukum biba 'dinw wa yal'anu ba'dukum ba'danw-wa yal'anu ba'dukum ba'danw wa maa waakumun Naaru wa maa lakum min naasireen

He said: "You have taken to idols through mutual affection in this life, in place of God, but on the Day of Resurrection you will disown and curse each other, and your abode will be Hell, and you will have none to help you."

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 25

"۞ فَآمَنَ لَهُ لُوطٌ ۘ وَقَالَ إِنِّي مُهَاجِرٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّي ۖ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ"

Fa aamana lahoo Loot; wa qaala innee mauhajirun ilaa Rabbee innahoo Huwal 'Azeezul Hakeem

Then Lot believed in him; and (Abraham) said: "I will separate myself and take refuge in my Lord. Surely He is all-mighty and all-wise."

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 26

"وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ إِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَجَعَلْنَا فِي ذُرِّيَّتِهِ النُّبُوَّةَ وَالْكِتَابَ وَآتَيْنَاهُ أَجْرَهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَإِنَّهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ لَمِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ"

Wa wahabnaa lahoo Ishaaqa wa Ya'Qooba wa ja'alnaa fee zurriyyatihin Nubuwwata wal Kitaaba wa aatainaahu ajrahoo fid dunyaa wa innahoo fil aakhirati laminas saaliheen

So We bestowed on him Isaac and Jacob and gave his progeny prophethood and scripture, and rewarded him in this world, and in the next he will be among the upright.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 27

"وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ إِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ الْفَاحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُمْ بِهَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِنَ الْعَالَمِينَ"

Wa Lootan iz qaala liqawmiheee innakum laatoonal faahishata maa sabaqakum bihaa min ahadim minal 'aalameen

And (remember) Lot when he said to his people: "You indulge in lecherous acts which none of the creatures had done before you.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 28

"أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ الرِّجَالَ وَتَقْطَعُونَ السَّبِيلَ وَتَأْتُونَ فِي نَادِيكُمُ الْمُنْكَرَ ۖ فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِ إِلَّا أَنْ قَالُوا ائْتِنَا بِعَذَابِ اللَّهِ إِنْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ"

A'innakum lataatoonar rijaala wa taqta'oonas sabeela wa taatoona fee naadekumul munkara famaa kaana jawaaba qawmiheee illaaa an qaalu' tinaaa bi'azaabil laahi in kunta minas saadiqeen

You commit unnatural acts with men and cut off the way (of procreation), and commit obscenities in your gatherings." The only answer his people made was: "Bring the punishment of God, if you are truthful."

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 29

"قَالَ رَبِّ انْصُرْنِي عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْمُفْسِدِينَ"

Qaala Rabbin surnee 'alal qawmil mufsideen (section 3)

"O Lord, help me against the wicked people,"(Lot) prayed.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 30

"وَلَمَّا جَاءَتْ رُسُلُنَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ بِالْبُشْرَىٰ قَالُوا إِنَّا مُهْلِكُو أَهْلِ هَٰذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ ۖ إِنَّ أَهْلَهَا كَانُوا ظَالِمِينَ"

Wa lammaa jaaa'at Rusulunaaa Ibraaheema bil bushraa qaalooo innaa muhlikoo ahli haazihil qaryati inna ahlahaa kaanoo zaalimeen

When Our messengers came to Abraham with good news, they said: "We have to destroy this city as its inhabitants have become sinful."

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 31

"قَالَ إِنَّ فِيهَا لُوطًا ۚ قَالُوا نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنْ فِيهَا ۖ لَنُنَجِّيَنَّهُ وَأَهْلَهُ إِلَّا امْرَأَتَهُ كَانَتْ مِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ"

Qaala inna feeha Lootaa; qaaloo nahnu a'lamu biman feehaa lanunajjjiyannahoo wa ahlahooo illam ra atahoo kaanat minal ghaabireen

He said: "Surely Lot is there." They answered: "We know who is there. We are to save him and his family except his wife, for she is one of those who will stay behind."

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 32

"وَلَمَّا أَنْ جَاءَتْ رُسُلُنَا لُوطًا سِيءَ بِهِمْ وَضَاقَ بِهِمْ ذَرْعًا وَقَالُوا لَا تَخَفْ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ ۖ إِنَّا مُنَجُّوكَ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا امْرَأَتَكَ كَانَتْ مِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ"

Wa lammaaa an jaaa'at Rusulunaa Lootan seee'a bihim wa daaqa bihim zar'anw wa qaaloo laa takhaf wa laa tahzan innaa munajjooka wa ahlaka illam ra ataka kaanat minal ghaabireen

So, when Our messengers came to Lot, he was worried on their account as he was unable to protect them. They said: "Have no fear or regret. We will certainly save you and your family except your wife, for she is one of those who will stay behind.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 33

"إِنَّا مُنْزِلُونَ عَلَىٰ أَهْلِ هَٰذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ رِجْزًا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْسُقُونَ"

Innaa munziloona 'alaaa ahli haazihil qaryati rijzam minas samaaa'i bimaa kaanoo yafsuqoon

We have to bring a scourge from the heavens on the people of this city as they are depraved."

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 34

"وَلَقَدْ تَرَكْنَا مِنْهَا آيَةً بَيِّنَةً لِقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ"

Wa laqat taraknaa min haaa aayatam baiyinatal liqawminy ya'qiloon

Verily We have left a clear sign of this for people of sense to see.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 35

"وَإِلَىٰ مَدْيَنَ أَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْبًا فَقَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَارْجُوا الْيَوْمَ الْآخِرَ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا فِي الْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ"

Wa ilaa Madyana akhaahum Shu'ayban faqaala yaa qawmi'-budul laaha warjul yawmal aakhira wa laa ta'saw fil ardi mufsideen

To Midian We sent their brother Shu?aib. He said: "O people, worship God and be ready for the Day of Resurrection. Do no evil, and create no mischief in the land."

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 36

"فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا فِي دَارِهِمْ جَاثِمِينَ"

Fakazzaboohu fa akhazat humur rajfatu fa asbahoo fee daarihim jaasimeen

But they denied him and were seized by an earthquake, and lay overturned in their homes in the morning.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 37

"وَعَادًا وَثَمُودَ وَقَدْ تَبَيَّنَ لَكُمْ مِنْ مَسَاكِنِهِمْ ۖ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ فَصَدَّهُمْ عَنِ السَّبِيلِ وَكَانُوا مُسْتَبْصِرِينَ"

Wa 'Aadanw wa Samooda wa qat tabaiyana lakum mim masaakinihim wa zaiyana lahumush Shaitaanu a'maalahum fasaddahum 'anis sabeeli wa kaanoo mustabsireen

And (remember) ?Ad and Thamud. It will be clear to you from their habitations (how they were destroyed), for Satan had made their deeds look attractive to them, and turned them away from the path; and yet they were a people of acumen.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 38

"وَقَارُونَ وَفِرْعَوْنَ وَهَامَانَ ۖ وَلَقَدْ جَاءَهُمْ مُوسَىٰ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا كَانُوا سَابِقِينَ"

Wa Qaaroona wa Fir'awna wa haamaana wa laqad jaaa'ahum Moosa bilbaiyinaati fastakbaroo fil ardi wa maa kaanoo saabiqeen

(Remember) Qarun, Pharaoh and Haman to whom Moses came with clear signs; but they were haughty (and oppressed) the land. Yet they could not run away from Us;

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 39

"فَكُلًّا أَخَذْنَا بِذَنْبِهِ ۖ فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِ حَاصِبًا وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ أَخَذَتْهُ الصَّيْحَةُ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ خَسَفْنَا بِهِ الْأَرْضَ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ أَغْرَقْنَا ۚ وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ وَلَٰكِنْ كَانُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ"

Fakullan akhaznaa bizam bihee faminhum man arsalnaa 'alaihi haasibaa; wa minhum man akhazat hus saihatu wa minhum man khasafnaa bihil arda wa minhum man aghraqnaa; wa maa kaanal laahu li yazlimahum wa laakin kaanoo anfusahum yazlimoon

And We seized all of them for their crimes. Against some We sent a violent wind hurling stones, and some We seized with a mighty blast, and some We submerged under the earth, and some We drowned. It was not for God to wrong them, they wronged themselves.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 40

"مَثَلُ الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ أَوْلِيَاءَ كَمَثَلِ الْعَنْكَبُوتِ اتَّخَذَتْ بَيْتًا ۖ وَإِنَّ أَوْهَنَ الْبُيُوتِ لَبَيْتُ الْعَنْكَبُوتِ ۖ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ"

Masalul lazeenat takhazoo min doonil laahi awliyaaa'a kamasalil 'ankaboot, ittakhazat baitaa; wa inna awhanal buyooti la baitul 'ankaboot; law kaanoo ya'lamoon

The semblance of those who take protectors besides God is that of the spider. She arranges a house for herself, but the flimsiest of houses is the spider?s. If only they had sense!

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 41

"إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا يَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِهِ مِنْ شَيْءٍ ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ"

Innal laaha ya'lamu maa yad'oona min doonihee min shai'; wa Huwal 'Azeezul Hakeem

Verily God knows what they invoke in His place, for He is all-mighty and all-wise.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 42

"وَتِلْكَ الْأَمْثَالُ نَضْرِبُهَا لِلنَّاسِ ۖ وَمَا يَعْقِلُهَا إِلَّا الْعَالِمُونَ"

Wa tilkal amsaalu nadribuhaa linnaasi wa maa ya'qiluhaaa illal 'aalimoon

These are precepts of wisdom We offer to men, but only those who are rational understand.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 43

"خَلَقَ اللَّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِالْحَقِّ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ"

Khalaqal laahus samaawaati wal arda bilhaqq; inna fee zaalika la aayatal lilmu mineen (section 4)

God has created the heavens and the earth with reason. Surely in this is a sign for those who believe.

Surah Number : 29 , Ayat Number : 44
