عَمَّ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ

'Amma Yatasaa-aloon

OF WHAT ARE they asking one another?

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 1

"عَنِ النَّبَإِ الْعَظِيمِ"

'Anin-nabaa-il 'azeem

(Is it) of the great announcement

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 2

"الَّذِي هُمْ فِيهِ مُخْتَلِفُونَ"

Allazi hum feehi mukh talifoon

About which they have been differing?

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 3

"كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ"

Kallaa sa y'alamoon

Indeed they will come to know soon;

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 4

"ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ"

Thumma kallaa sa y'alamoon

They will indeed come to know soon.

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 5

"أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْأَرْضَ مِهَادًا"

Alam naj'alil arda mihaa da

Did We not make the earth a spreading,

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 6

"وَالْجِبَالَ أَوْتَادًا"

Wal jibaala au taada

The mountains tent-pins?

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 7

"وَخَلَقْنَاكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا"

Wa khalaq naakum azwaaja

We created you in pairs,

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 8

"وَجَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتًا"

Waja'alna naumakum subata

And made sleep for you to rest,

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 9

"وَجَعَلْنَا اللَّيْلَ لِبَاسًا"

Waja'alnal laila libasa

The night a covering,

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 10

"وَجَعَلْنَا النَّهَارَ مَعَاشًا"

Waja'alnan nahara ma 'aasha

And the day for seeking livelihood.

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 11

"وَبَنَيْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعًا شِدَادًا"

Wa banaina fauqakum sab 'an shi daada

We raised over you several secure (skies),

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 12

"وَجَعَلْنَا سِرَاجًا وَهَّاجًا"

Waja'alna siraajaw wah haaja

And placed a lamp therein brightly burning.

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 13

"وَأَنْزَلْنَا مِنَ الْمُعْصِرَاتِ مَاءً ثَجَّاجًا"

Wa anzalna minal m'usiraati maa-an thaj-jaaja

And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 14

"لِنُخْرِجَ بِهِ حَبًّا وَنَبَاتًا"

Linukh rija bihee habbaw wana baata

That We may produce from it grain and vegetation,

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 15

"وَجَنَّاتٍ أَلْفَافًا"

Wa jan naatin alfafa

And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs.

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 16

"إِنَّ يَوْمَ الْفَصْلِ كَانَ مِيقَاتًا"

Inna yaumal-fasli kana miqaata

Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement.

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 17

"يَوْمَ يُنْفَخُ فِي الصُّورِ فَتَأْتُونَ أَفْوَاجًا"

Yauma yun fakhu fis-soori fataa toona afwaaja

The day the trumpet blast is sounded you will come in hordes;

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 18

"وَفُتِحَتِ السَّمَاءُ فَكَانَتْ أَبْوَابًا"

Wa futiha tis samaa-u fakaanat abwaaba

The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors,

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 19

"وَسُيِّرَتِ الْجِبَالُ فَكَانَتْ سَرَابًا"

Wa suyyi raatil jibaalu fa kaanat saraaba

The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage.

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 20

"إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتْ مِرْصَادًا"

Inna jahan nama kaanat mirsaada

Certainly Hell lies in wait,

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 21

"لِلطَّاغِينَ مَآبًا"

Lit taa gheena ma aaba

The rebels? abode,

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 22

"لَابِثِينَ فِيهَا أَحْقَابًا"

Laa bitheena feehaa ahqaaba

Where they will remain for aeons,

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 23

"لَا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَرْدًا وَلَا شَرَابًا"

Laa ya zooqoona feeha bar daw walaa sharaaba

Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 24

"إِلَّا حَمِيمًا وَغَسَّاقًا"

Illa hamee maw-wa ghas saaqa

Except boiling water and benumbing cold:

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 25

"جَزَاءً وِفَاقًا"

Jazaa-aw wi faaqa

, A fitting reward.

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 26

"إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا لَا يَرْجُونَ حِسَابًا"

Innahum kaanu laa yarjoona hisaaba

They were those who did not expect a reckoning,

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 27

"وَكَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا كِذَّابًا"

Wa kazzabu bi aayaa tina kizzaba

And rejected Our signs as lies.

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 28

"وَكُلَّ شَيْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَاهُ كِتَابًا"

Wa kulla shai-in ahsai naahu kitaa ba

We have kept account of everything in a book.

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 29

"فَذُوقُوا فَلَنْ نَزِيدَكُمْ إِلَّا عَذَابًا"

Fa zooqoo falan-nazee dakum ill-laa azaaba

So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment,

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 30

"إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ مَفَازًا"

Inna lil mutta qeena mafaaza

As for those who preserve themselves from evil and follow the straight path, there is attainment for them:

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 31

"حَدَائِقَ وَأَعْنَابًا"

Hadaa-iqa wa a'anaa ba

Orchards and vineyards,

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 32

"وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتْرَابًا"

Wa kaawa 'iba at raaba

And graceful maidens of the same age,

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 33

"وَكَأْسًا دِهَاقًا"

Wa ka'san di haaqa

And flasks full and flowing.

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 34

"لَا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا كِذَّابًا"

Laa yasma'oona fiha lagh waw walaa kizzaba

They will hear no blasphemies there or disavowals:

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 35

"جَزَاءً مِنْ رَبِّكَ عَطَاءً حِسَابًا"

Jazaa-am mir-rabbika ataa-an hisaaba

A recompense from your Lord, a sufficient gift,

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 36

"رَبِّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا الرَّحْمَٰنِ ۖ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِنْهُ خِطَابًا"

Rabbis samaa waati wal ardi wa maa baina humar rahmaani laa yam likoona minhu khitaaba

The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all that lies between them, most benevolent, to whom none may dare address a word.

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 37

"يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الرُّوحُ …ْمَٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًا"

Yauma yaqoo mur roohu wal malaa-ikatu saf-fal laa yatakallamoona illa man azina lahur rahmaanu wa qaala sawaaba

The day the Spirit takes its stand, with the angels ranged in rows. None will speak except who is permitted by Ar-Rahman and says what is right.

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 38

"ذَٰلِكَ الْيَوْمُ الْحَق…َ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِ مَآبًا"

Zaalikal yaumul haqqu faman shaa-at ta khaaza ill-laa rabbihi ma-aaba

That day is certain. So whosoever likes may prepare a way to his Lord.

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 39

"إِنَّا أَنْذَرْنَاكُمْ عَذَابًا قَرِيبًا يَوْمَ يَنْظُرُ الْمَرْءُ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُولُ الْكَافِرُ يَا لَيْتَنِي كُنْتُ تُرَابًا"

In naa anzar naakum azaaban qareebaiy-yauma yan zurul marr-u maa qaddamat yadaahu wa ya qoolul-kaafiru yaa lai tanee kuntu turaaba

We have indeed warned you of a calamity near at hand, a day when man will see what he had sent (of his deeds) ahead, and the unbeliever will say: "Woe alas. Ah would that I were dust!"

Surah Number : 78 , Ayat Number : 40

وَالنَّازِعَاتِ غَرْقًا

Wan naazi 'aati gharqa

I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag,

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 1

"وَالنَّاشِطَاتِ نَشْطًا"

Wan naa shi taati nashta

And those who undo the bonds gently,

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 2

"وَالسَّابِحَاتِ سَبْحًا"

Wass saabi-haati sabha

And those who glide swimmingly,

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 3

"فَالسَّابِقَاتِ سَبْقًا"

Fass saabi qaati sabqa

Then outpace the others swiftly

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 4

"فَالْمُدَبِّرَاتِ أَمْرًا"

Fal mu dab-bi raati amra

And direct affairs by command,

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 5

"يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ الرَّاجِفَةُ"

Yawma tarjufur raajifa

The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 6

"تَتْبَعُهَا الرَّادِفَةُ"

Tatba'u har raadifa

Followed by the second blast,

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 7

"قُلُوبٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاجِفَةٌ"

Quloobuny-yau maaiziw-waaji-fa

Hearts will pound loudly on that day,

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 8

"أَبْصَارُهَا خَاشِعَةٌ"

Absaa ruhaa khashi'ah

Eyes be lowered in submission.

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 9

"يَقُولُونَ أَإِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِي الْحَافِرَةِ"

Ya qoo loona a-inna lamar doo doona fil haafirah

They say: "Shall we go back to our original state

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 10

"أَإِذَا كُنَّا عِظَامًا نَخِرَةً"

Aizaa kunna 'izaa man-nakhirah

After having turned to carious bones?"

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 11

"قَالُوا تِلْكَ إِذًا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌ"

Qaalu tilka izan karratun khaasirah.

They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss."

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 12

"فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ زَجْرَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ"

Fa inna ma hiya zajratuw-waahida

It will only be a single blast,

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 13

"فَإِذَا هُمْ بِالسَّاهِرَةِ"

Faizaa hum biss saahirah

And they will wake up suddenly.

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 14

"هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰ"

Hal ataaka hadeethu Musaa

Has the story of Moses come to you

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 15

"إِذْ نَادَاهُ رَبُّهُ بِالْوَادِ الْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى"

Iz nadaahu rabbuhu bil waadil-muqad dasi tuwa

When his Lord called to him in Tuwa?s holy vale?

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 16

"اذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُ طَغَىٰ"

Izhab ilaa fir'auna innahu taghaa.

"Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory,

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 17

"فَقُلْ هَلْ لَكَ إِلَىٰ أَنْ تَزَكَّىٰ"

Faqul hal laka ilaa-an tazakka.

And say: ?Would you like to grow (in virtue)?

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 18

"وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَىٰ"

Wa ahdi yaka ila rabbika fatakh sha

Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.?"

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 19

"فَأَرَاهُ الْآيَةَ الْكُبْرَىٰ"

Fa araahul-aayatal kubra.

So he showed him the greater sign;

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 20

"فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ"

Fa kazzaba wa asaa.

But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed.

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 21

"ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسْعَىٰ"

Thumma adbara yas'aa.

Then he turned away, deliberating,

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 22

"فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ"

Fa hashara fanada.

And assembled (his council) and proclaimed,

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 23

"فَقَالَ أَنَا رَبُّكُمُ الْأَعْلَىٰ"

Faqala ana rabbu kumul-a'laa.

Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all."

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 24

"فَأَخَذَهُ اللَّهُ نَكَالَ الْآخِرَةِ وَالْأُولَىٰ"

Fa-akha zahul laahu nakalal aakhirati wal-oola.

So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world.

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 25

"إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِمَنْ يَخْشَىٰ"

Inna fee zaalika la'ibratal limaiy-yaksha

Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences).

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 26

"أَأَنْتُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَمِ السَّمَاءُ ۚ بَنَاهَا"

A-antum a shaddu khalqan amis samaa-u banaaha.

Are you more difficult to create or the heavens? He built it,

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 27

"رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوَّاهَا"

Raf'a sam kaha fasaw waaha

Raised it high, proportioned it,

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 28

"وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَاهَا"

Wa aghtasha lailaha wa akhraja duhaaha.

Gave darkness to its night, and brightness to its day;

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 29

"وَالْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَاهَا"

Wal arda b'ada zaalika dahaaha.

And afterwards spread out the earth.

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 30

"أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَاءَهَا وَمَرْعَاهَا"

Akhraja minha maa-aha wa mar 'aaha.

He brought out its water and its pastures from it,

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 31

"وَالْجِبَالَ أَرْسَاهَا"

Wal jibala arsaaha.

And stabilized the mountains

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 32

"مَتَاعًا لَكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَامِكُمْ"

Mataa'al lakum wali an 'aamikum.

As convenience for you and your cattle.

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 33

"فَإِذَا جَاءَتِ الطَّامَّةُ الْكُبْرَىٰ"

Fa-izaa jaaa'atit taaam matul kubraa.

When the great calamity comes,

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 34

"يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ الْإِنْسَانُ مَا سَعَىٰ"

Yauma Yata zakkarul insaanu ma sa'aa.

The day when man remembers all that he had done,

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 35

"وَبُرِّزَتِ الْجَحِيمُ لِمَنْ يَرَىٰ"

Wa burrizatil-jaheemu limany-yaraa.

And Hell made visible to him who can see,

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 36

"فَأَمَّا مَنْ طَغَىٰ"

Fa ammaa man taghaa.

Then he who had been rebellious

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 37

"وَآثَرَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا"

Wa aasaral hayaatad dunyaa

And who preferred the life of the world,

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 38

"فَإِنَّ الْجَحِيمَ هِيَ الْمَأْوَىٰ"

Fa innal jaheema hiyal maawaa.

Will surely have Hell for his abode.

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 39

"وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ وَنَهَى النَّفْسَ عَنِ الْهَوَىٰ"

Wa ammaa man khaafa maqaama Rabbihee wa nahan nafsa 'anil hawaa

But he who feared standing before his Lord, and restrained his self from vain desires,

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 40

"فَإِنَّ الْجَنَّةَ هِيَ الْمَأْوَىٰ"

Fa innal jannata hiyal maawaa

Will surely have Paradise for abode.

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 41

"يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَاهَا"

Yas'aloonaka 'anis saa'ati ayyaana mursaahaa

They ask you: "When will the Hour be? When is its time fixed?"

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 42

"فِيمَ أَنْتَ مِنْ ذِكْرَاهَا"

Feema anta min zikraahaa

What do you have to do with explaining it?

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 43

"إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنْتَهَاهَا"

Ilaa Rabbika muntahaa haa

The extent of its knowledge goes to your Lord.

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 44

"إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ مُنْذِرُ مَنْ يَخْشَاهَا"

Innamaaa anta munziru maiy yakshaahaa

Your duty is only to warn him who fears it.

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 45

"كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوا إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَاهَا"

Ka annahum Yawma yarawnahaa lam yalbasooo illaa 'ashiyyatan aw duhaahaa

The day they see it, it will seem they had stayed in the world but only an evening or its turning into dawn.

Surah Number : 79 , Ayat Number : 46

عَبَسَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ

'Abasa wa tawallaa.

HE FROWNED AND turned away,

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 1

"أَنْ جَاءَهُ الْأَعْمَىٰ"

An jaa-ahul 'a-maa

Because a blind man came to him.

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 2

"وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ لَعَلَّهُ يَزَّكَّىٰ"

Wa maa yudreeka la'allahu yaz zakkaa.

What made you think that he will not grow in virtue,

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 3

"أَوْ يَذَّكَّرُ فَتَنْفَعَهُ الذِّكْرَىٰ"

Au yaz zak karu fatanfa 'ahuz zikraa.

Or be admonished, and the admonition profit him?

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 4

"أَمَّا مَنِ اسْتَغْنَىٰ"

Amma manis taghnaa

As for him who is not in want of any thing,

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 5

"فَأَنْتَ لَهُ تَصَدَّىٰ"

Fa-anta lahu tasaddaa

You pay full attention,

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 6

"وَمَا عَلَيْكَ أَلَّا يَزَّكَّىٰ"

Wa ma 'alaika allaa yaz zakka.

Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness).

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 7

"وَأَمَّا مَنْ جَاءَكَ يَسْعَىٰ"

Wa amma man jaa-aka yas'a

As for him who comes to you striving (after goodness),

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 8

"وَهُوَ يَخْشَىٰ"

Wahuwa yakhshaa,

And is also fearful (of God),

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 9

"فَأَنْتَ عَنْهُ تَلَهَّىٰ"

Fa-anta 'anhu talah haa.

You neglect.

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 10

"كَلَّا إِنَّهَا تَذْكِرَةٌ"

Kalla innaha tazkirah

Assuredly this is a reminder

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 11

"فَمَنْ شَاءَ ذَكَرَهُ"

Faman shaa a zakarah

For any one who desires to bear it in mind,

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 12

"فِي صُحُفٍ مُكَرَّمَةٍ"

Fi suhufim mukar rama,

(Contained) in honoured pages,

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 13

"مَرْفُوعَةٍ مُطَهَّرَةٍ"

Marfoo'atim mutah hara,

Exalted and holy,

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 14

"بِأَيْدِي سَفَرَةٍ"

Bi'aidee safara

In the hands of scribes

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 15

"كِرَامٍ بَرَرَةٍ"

Kiraamim bararah.

Noble and pious.

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 16

"قُتِلَ الْإِنْسَانُ مَا أَكْفَرَهُ"

Qutilal-insanu maa akfarah.

Accursed is man. How ungrateful is he!

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 17

"مِنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقَهُ"

Min aiyyi shai-in Khalaq

Of what substance God created him?

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 18

"مِنْ نُطْفَةٍ خَلَقَهُ فَقَدَّرَهُ"

Min nutfatin khalaqahoo faqaddarah.

From a single sperm He created, then proportioned him,

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 19

"ثُمَّ السَّبِيلَ يَسَّرَهُ"

Thummas sabeela yas-sarah

Then made his passage easy (at birth);

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 20

"ثُمَّ أَمَاتَهُ فَأَقْبَرَهُ"

Thumma amatahu fa-aqbarah

He will then send him to death and have him laid in the grave.

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 21

"ثُمَّ إِذَا شَاءَ أَنْشَرَهُ"

Thumma iza shaa-a ansharah

Then He will raise him up again when He please.

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 22

"كَلَّا لَمَّا يَقْضِ مَا أَمَرَهُ"

Kalla lamma yaqdi maa amarah.

But no. He has not fulfilled what was enjoined on him.

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 23

"فَلْيَنْظُرِ الْإِنْسَانُ إِلَىٰ طَعَامِهِ"

Falyanzuril insanu ilaa ta-amih

Let man therefore consider (the sources of) his food.

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 24

"أَنَّا صَبَبْنَا الْمَاءَ صَبًّا"

Anna sabab nalmaa-a sabba.

We poured down rain abundantly,

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 25

"ثُمَّ شَقَقْنَا الْأَرْضَ شَقًّا"

Thumma sha qaqnal-arda shaqqa.

Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination)

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 26

"فَأَنْبَتْنَا فِيهَا حَبًّا"

Fa ambatna feeha habba

And We made corn grow,

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 27

"وَعِنَبًا وَقَضْبًا"

Wa 'inabaw-wa qadba

And grapes and herbage,

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 28

"وَزَيْتُونًا وَنَخْلًا"

Wa zaitoonaw wanakh la'

Olives and dates,

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 29

"وَحَدَائِقَ غُلْبًا"

Wa hadaa-iqa ghulba

Orchards thick with trees,

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 30

"وَفَاكِهَةً وَأَبًّا"

Wa faki hataw-wa abba.

And fruits and fodder:

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 31

"مَتَاعًا لَكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَامِكُمْ"

Mata'al-lakum wa li-an'amikum.

A provision for you and your cattle.

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 32

"فَإِذَا جَاءَتِ الصَّاخَّةُ"

Faiza jaa-atis saakhah.

But when the great calamity comes

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 33

"يَوْمَ يَفِرُّ الْمَرْءُ مِنْ أَخِيهِ"

Yauma yafir-rul mar-u min akheeh

Man will fly from his brother,

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 34

"وَأُمِّهِ وَأَبِيهِ"

Wa ummihee wa abeeh

Mother and father,

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 35

"وَصَاحِبَتِهِ وَبَنِيهِ"

Wa sahi batihee wa baneeh.

As well as his wife and children.

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 36

"لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مِنْهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ شَأْنٌ يُغْنِيهِ"

Likul limri-im-minuhm yaumaa-izin shaa nuy-yughneeh

Each man will have enough cares that day.

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 37

"وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ مُسْفِرَةٌ"

Wujoo huny-yauma-izim-musfira;

Many faces will that day be bright,

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 38

"ضَاحِكَةٌ مُسْتَبْشِرَةٌ"

Dahi katum mustab shirah

Laughing and full of joy,

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 39

"وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَيْهَا غَبَرَةٌ"

Wa wujoohuy yauma-izin 'alaiha ghabar a

And many will be dust-begrimed,

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 40

"تَرْهَقُهَا قَتَرَةٌ"

Tarhaquha qatarah.

Covered with the blackness (of shame):

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 41

"أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْكَفَرَةُ الْفَجَرَةُ"

Ulaa-ika humul-kafa ratul-fajarah.

They will be the unbelievers, transgressors.

Surah Number : 80 , Ayat Number : 42

إِذَا الشَّمْسُ كُوِّرَتْ

Izash shamsu kuwwirat

WHEN THE SUN is folded up,

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 1

"وَإِذَا النُّجُومُ انْكَدَرَتْ"

Wa izan nujoomun kadarat

The stars turn dim and scatter,

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 2

"وَإِذَا الْجِبَالُ سُيِّرَتْ"

Wa izal jibaalu suyyirat

The mountains made to move,

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 3

"وَإِذَا الْعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتْ"

Wa izal 'ishaaru 'uttilat

The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned,

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 4

"وَإِذَا الْوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتْ"

Wa izal wuhooshu hushirat

The wild beasts stampede on the run,

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 5

"وَإِذَا الْبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتْ"

Wa izal bihaaru sujjirat

When the oceans surge and swell,

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 6

"وَإِذَا النُّفُوسُ زُوِّجَتْ"

Wa izan nufoosu zuwwijat

When souls are reunited (with the bodies)

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 7

"وَإِذَا الْمَوْءُودَةُ سُئِلَتْ"

Wa izal maw'oodatu su'ilat

And the little girl buried alive is asked

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 8

"بِأَيِّ ذَنْبٍ قُتِلَتْ"

Bi ayyi zambin qutilat

For what crime she was put to death;

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 9

"وَإِذَا الصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتْ"

Wa izas suhufu nushirat

When the ledgers are laid open,

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 10

"وَإِذَا السَّمَاءُ كُشِطَتْ"

Wa izas samaaa'u kushitat

The curtain drawn back from the skies,

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 11

"وَإِذَا الْجَحِيمُ سُعِّرَتْ"

Wa izal jaheemu su'-'irat

When Hell is set ablaze,

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 12

"وَإِذَا الْجَنَّةُ أُزْلِفَتْ"

Wa izal jannatu uzlifat

And Paradise brought near,

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 13

"عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَا أَحْضَرَتْ"

'Alimat nafsum maaa ahdarat

(Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself).

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 14

"فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِالْخُنَّسِ"

Falaaa uqsimu bil khunnas

So, I call the receding stars to witness,

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 15

"الْجَوَارِ الْكُنَّسِ"

Al jawaaril kunnas

The planets withdrawing into themselves,

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 16

"وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا عَسْعَسَ"

Wallaili izaa 'as'as

The closing night,

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 17

"وَالصُّبْحِ إِذَا تَنَفَّسَ"

Wassubhi izaa tanaffas

The rising dawn,

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 18

"إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍ كَرِيمٍ"

Innahoo laqawlu rasoolin kareem

That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger,

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 19

"ذِي قُوَّةٍ عِنْدَ ذِي الْعَرْشِ مَكِينٍ"

Zee quwwatin 'inda zil 'arshi makeen

Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne,

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 20

"مُطَاعٍ ثَمَّ أَمِينٍ"

Mutaa'in samma ameen

Obeyed and worthy there of trust.

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 21

"وَمَا صَاحِبُكُمْ بِمَجْنُونٍ"

Wa maa saahibukum bimajnoon

Your companion is not mad.

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 22

"وَلَقَدْ رَآهُ بِالْأُفُقِ الْمُبِينِ"

Wa laqad ra aahu bilufuqil mubeen

He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon.

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 23

"وَمَا هُوَ عَلَى الْغَيْبِ بِضَنِينٍ"

Wa maa huwa 'alal ghaibi bidaneen

He is not chary of making public what is unknown.

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 24

"وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَيْطَانٍ رَجِيمٍ"

Wa maa huwa biqawli shaitaanir rajeem

This is not the utterance of an accursed devil.

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 25

"فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ"

Fa ayna tazhaboon

So whither do you stray?

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 26

"إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِلْعَالَمِينَ"

In huwa illaa zikrul lil'aalameen

This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world,

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 27

"لِمَنْ شَاءَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَسْتَقِيمَ"

Liman shaaa'a minkum ai yastaqeem

For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight,

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 28

"وَمَا تَشَاءُونَ إِلَّا …َهُ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ"

Wa maa tashaaa'oona illaaa ai yashaaa 'al laahu Rabbul 'Aalameen

Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds.

Surah Number : 81 , Ayat Number : 29

إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْفَطَرَتْ

Izas samaaa'un fatarat

WHEN THE SKY is split asunder,

Surah Number : 82 , Ayat Number : 1

"وَإِذَا الْكَوَاكِبُ انْتَثَرَتْ"

Wa izal kawaakibun tasarat

And the stars dispersed,

Surah Number : 82 , Ayat Number : 2

"وَإِذَا الْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ"

Wa izal bihaaru fujjirat

When the oceans begin to flow,

Surah Number : 82 , Ayat Number : 3

"وَإِذَا الْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ"

Wa izal qubooru bu'sirat

When the graves are overturned,

Surah Number : 82 , Ayat Number : 4

"عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ"

'Alimat nafsum maa qaddamat wa akhkharat

Each soul will know what it had sent ahead and what it had left behind.

Surah Number : 82 , Ayat Number : 5

"يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنْسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الْكَرِيمِ"

Yaaa ayyuhal insaaanu maa gharraka bi Rabbikal kareem

O man, what seduced you from your munificent Lord

Surah Number : 82 , Ayat Number : 6

"الَّذِي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّاكَ فَعَدَلَكَ"

Allazee khalaqaka fasaw waaka fa'adalak

Who created you then formed your symmetry, then gave you right proportion,

Surah Number : 82 , Ayat Number : 7

"فِي أَيِّ صُورَةٍ مَا شَاءَ رَكَّبَكَ"

Feee ayye sooratim maa shaaa'a rakkabak

Shaping you into any form He pleased?

Surah Number : 82 , Ayat Number : 8

"كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِالدِّينِ"

Kalla bal tukazziboona bid deen

Even then you deny the Judgement.

Surah Number : 82 , Ayat Number : 9

"وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَافِظِينَ"

Wa inna 'alaikum lahaa fizeen

Surely there are guardians over you,

Surah Number : 82 , Ayat Number : 10

"كِرَامًا كَاتِبِينَ"

Kiraaman kaatibeen

Illustrious scribes

Surah Number : 82 , Ayat Number : 11

"يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ"

Ya'lamoona ma taf'aloon

Who know what you do.

Surah Number : 82 , Ayat Number : 12

"إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ"

Innal abraara lafee na'eem

The pious will surely be in heaven,

Surah Number : 82 , Ayat Number : 13

"وَإِنَّ الْفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٍ"

Wa innal fujjaara lafee jaheem

The wicked certainly in Hell:

Surah Number : 82 , Ayat Number : 14

"يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ الدِّينِ"

Yaslawnahaa Yawmad Deen

They will burn in it on the Day of Judgement,

Surah Number : 82 , Ayat Number : 15

"وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَائِبِينَ"

Wa maa hum 'anhaa bighaaa 'ibeen

And will not be removed from it.

Surah Number : 82 , Ayat Number : 16

"وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ"

Wa maaa adraaka maa Yawmud Deen

How can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is?

Surah Number : 82 , Ayat Number : 17

"ثُمَّ مَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ"

Summa maaa adraaka maa Yawmud Deen

How then can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is?

Surah Number : 82 , Ayat Number : 18

"يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِنَفْسٍ شَيْئًا ۖ وَالْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلَّهِ"

Yawma laa tamliku nafsul linafsin shai'anw walamru yawma'izil lillaah

It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God?s alone will be done.

Surah Number : 82 , Ayat Number : 19

وَيْلٌ لِلْمُطَفِّفِينَ

Wailul lil mutaffifeen

WOE TO THOSE who give short measure,

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 1

"الَّذِينَ إِذَا اكْتَالُوا عَلَى النَّاسِ يَسْتَوْفُونَ"

Allazeena izak taaloo 'alan naasi yastawfoon

Who insist on being given full when they take from others,

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 2

"وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمْ أَوْ وَزَنُوهُمْ يُخْسِرُونَ"

Wa izaa kaaloohum aw wazanoohum yukhsiroon

Whilst when they measure or weigh for them, give less.

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 3

"أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُولَٰئِكَ أَنَّهُمْ مَبْعُوثُونَ"

Alaa yazunnu ulaaa'ika annahum mab'oosoon

Do they not think they will be raised (to life) again

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 4

"لِيَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ"

Li Yawmin 'Azeem

On a grievous day,

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 5

"يَوْمَ يَقُومُ النَّاسُ لِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ"

Yawma yaqoomun naasu li Rabbil 'aalameen

The day all mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds?

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 6

"كَلَّا إِنَّ كِتَابَ الْفُجَّارِ لَفِي سِجِّينٍ"

Kallaaa inna kitaabal fujjaari lafee Sijjeen

Indeed the ledger of the wicked will be in (the lowest depths) Sijjin.

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 7

"وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا سِجِّينٌ"

Wa maa adraaka maa Sijjeen

How will you comprehend what Sijjin is?

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 8

"كِتَابٌ مَرْقُومٌ"

Kitaabum marqoom

It is a (repository of) distinctly written record.

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 9

"وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ"

Wailuny yawma'izil lil mukazzibeen

Ah the woe that day for those who deny,

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 10

"الَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوْمِ الدِّينِ"

Allazeena yukazziboona bi yawmid deen

Who call the Day of judgement a lie!

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 11

"وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهِ إِلَّا كُلُّ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ"

Wa maa yukazzibu biheee illaa kullu mu'tadin aseem

None denies it but the sinful transgressors.

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 12

"إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ آيَاتُنَا قَالَ أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ"

Izaa tutlaa'alaihi aayaatunaa qaala asaateerul awwaleen

When Our revelations are recited before him, he says: "These are fables of long ago."

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 13

"كَلَّا ۖ بَلْ ۜ رَانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ مَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ"

Kallaa bal raana 'alaa quloobihim maa kaanoo yaksiboon

No. In fact what they have been doing has rusted their hearts.

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 14

"كَلَّا إِنَّهُمْ عَنْ رَبِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَمَحْجُوبُونَ"

Kallaaa innahum 'ar Rabbihim yawma'izil lamah jooboon

Therefore they will be screened off from their Lord that day,

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 15

"ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ لَصَالُو الْجَحِيمِ"

Summa innahum lasaa lul jaheem

Then they will indeed burn in Hell.

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 16

"ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَٰذَا الَّذِي كُنْتُمْ بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ"

Summa yuqaalu haazal lazee kuntum bihee tukazziboon

They will then be told: "This is what you had denied."

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 17

"كَلَّا إِنَّ كِتَابَ الْأَبْرَارِ لَفِي عِلِّيِّينَ"

Kallaaa inna kitaabal abraari lafee'Illiyyeen

Surely the ledger of the pious will be in ?Illiyun (heights above the heights).

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 18

"وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ"

Wa maaa adraaka maa 'IlliyyoonKitaabum marqoom

But how will you comprehend what ?Illiyun is?

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 19

"كِتَابٌ مَرْقُومٌ"

Kitaabum marqoom

It is a (repository of) distinctly written record

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 20

"يَشْهَدُهُ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ"

Yashhadu hul muqarra boon

Witnessed by those who are honoured.

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 21

"إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ"

Innal abraara lafee Na'eem

Verily the pious will be in heaven,

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 22

"عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ يَنْظُرُونَ"

'Alal araaa'iki yanzuroon

On couches face to face.

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 23

"تَعْرِفُ فِي وُجُوهِهِمْ نَضْرَةَ النَّعِيمِ"

Ta'rifu fee wujoohihim nadratan na'eem

On their faces you will see the glow of beatitude.

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 24

"يُسْقَوْنَ مِنْ رَحِيقٍ مَخْتُومٍ"

Yusqawna mir raheeqim makhtoom

They will be served the choicest wine, sealed

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 25

"خِتَامُهُ مِسْكٌ ۚ وَفِي ذَٰلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ الْمُتَنَافِسُونَ"

Khitaamuhoo misk; wa fee zaalika falyatanaafasil Mutanaafisoon

With a sealing of musk, which those who aspire for the best should desire, --

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 26

"وَمِزَاجُهُ مِنْ تَسْنِيمٍ"

Wa mizaajuhoo min Tasneem

Blended with the water of Tasnim, (heights ultimate of evolution),

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 27

"عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا الْمُقَرَّبُونَ"

'Ainaiy yashrabu bihal muqarraboon

A fountain from which only they who are honoured drink.

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 28

"إِنَّ الَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا كَانُوا مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يَضْحَكُونَ"

Innal lazeena ajramoo kaanoo minal lazeena aamanoo yadhakoon

The sinners indeed laughed at believers

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 29

"وَإِذَا مَرُّوا بِهِمْ يَتَغَامَزُونَ"

Wa izaa marroo bihim yataghaamazoon

And winked at one another as they passed by them;

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 30

"وَإِذَا انْقَلَبُوا إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِمُ انْقَلَبُوا فَكِهِينَ"

Wa izan qalabooo ilaaa ahlihimun qalaboo fakiheen

And when they went back to their people turned to make fun of them;

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 31

"وَإِذَا رَأَوْهُمْ قَالُوا إِنَّ هَٰؤُلَاءِ لَضَالُّونَ"

Wa izaa ra awhum qaalooo inna haaa'ulaaa'i ladaaal loon

And when they saw them, they said: "They have indeed gone astray."

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 32

"وَمَا أُرْسِلُوا عَلَيْهِمْ حَافِظِينَ"

Wa maaa ursiloo 'alaihim haafizeen

But they were not Sent to be guardians over them!

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 33

"فَالْيَوْمَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنَ الْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ"

Fal yawmal lazeena aamanoo minal kuffaari yadhakoon

So, the believers will laugh at the infidels on that day,

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 34

"عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ يَنْظُرُونَ"

'Alal araaa'iki yanzuroon

Regarding them from their cushioned seats.

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 35

"هَلْ ثُوِّبَ الْكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ"

Hal suwwibal kuffaaru maa kaanoo yaf'aloon

Will not the infidels pay for what they had done?

Surah Number : 83 , Ayat Number : 36

إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْشَقَّتْ

Izas samaaa'un shaqqat

WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder,

Surah Number : 84 , Ayat Number : 1

"وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ"

Wa azinat li Rabbihaa wa huqqat

And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful,

Surah Number : 84 , Ayat Number : 2

"وَإِذَا الْأَرْضُ مُدَّتْ"

Wa izal ardu muddat

When the earth is stretched out taut

Surah Number : 84 , Ayat Number : 3

"وَأَلْقَتْ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتْ"

Wa alqat maa feehaa wa takhallat

And throws out whatever it contains and is empty,

Surah Number : 84 , Ayat Number : 4

"وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ"

Wa azinat li Rabbihaa wa huqqat

And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful,

Surah Number : 84 , Ayat Number : 5

"يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنْسَانُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلَاقِيهِ"

Yaaa ayyuhal insaanu innaka kaadihun ilaa Rabbika kad han famulaaqeeh

O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him.

Surah Number : 84 , Ayat Number : 6

"فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ"

Fa ammaa man ootiya kitaabahoo biyameenih

And he who is given his ledger in his right hand

Surah Number : 84 , Ayat Number : 7

"فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا"

Fasawfa yuhaasabu hi saabai yaseeraa

Will have an easy reckoning,

Surah Number : 84 , Ayat Number : 8

"وَيَنْقَلِبُ إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِ مَسْرُورًا"

Wa yanqalibu ilaaa ahlihee masrooraa

And will return to his people full of joy.

Surah Number : 84 , Ayat Number : 9

"وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ وَرَاءَ ظَهْرِهِ"

Wa ammaa man ootiya kitaabahoo waraaa'a zahrih

But he who is given his ledger from behind his back

Surah Number : 84 , Ayat Number : 10

"فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُو ثُبُورًا"

Fasawfa yad'oo subooraa

Will pray for death,

Surah Number : 84 , Ayat Number : 11

"وَيَصْلَىٰ سَعِيرًا"

Wa yaslaa sa'eeraa

But will be roasted in the fire.

Surah Number : 84 , Ayat Number : 12

"إِنَّهُ كَانَ فِي أَهْلِهِ مَسْرُورًا"

Innahoo kaana feee ahlihee masrooraa

He lived rejoicing among his people,

Surah Number : 84 , Ayat Number : 13

"إِنَّهُ ظَنَّ أَنْ لَنْ يَحُورَ"

Innahoo zanna al lai yahoor

Never thinking he will return.

Surah Number : 84 , Ayat Number : 14

"بَلَىٰ إِنَّ رَبَّهُ كَانَ بِهِ بَصِيرًا"

Balaaa inna Rabbahoo kaana bihee baseeraa

Why not? His Lord was always watching him.

Surah Number : 84 , Ayat Number : 15

"فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِالشَّفَقِ"

Falaaa uqsimu bishshafaq

So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight,

Surah Number : 84 , Ayat Number : 16

"وَاللَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ"

Wallaili wa maa wasaq

And the night and all it gathers,

Surah Number : 84 , Ayat Number : 17

"وَالْقَمَرِ إِذَا اتَّسَقَ"

Walqamari izat tasaq

And the moon when at the full,

Surah Number : 84 , Ayat Number : 18

"لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَنْ طَبَقٍ"

Latarkabunna tabaqan 'an tabaq

That you will climb from stage to stage.

Surah Number : 84 , Ayat Number : 19

"فَمَا لَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ"

Famaa lahum laa yu'minoon

So, wherefore do they not believe?

Surah Number : 84 , Ayat Number : 20

"وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقُرْآنُ لَا يَسْجُدُونَ ۩"

Wa izaa quri'a 'alaihimul Quraanu laa yasjudoon (make sajda)

And when the Qur?an is recited to them do not bow in adoration?

Surah Number : 84 , Ayat Number : 21

"بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يُكَذِّبُونَ"

Balil lazeena kafaroo yukazziboon

In fact the unbelievers disavow.

Surah Number : 84 , Ayat Number : 22

"وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ"

Wallaahu a'lamu bimaa yoo'oon

But God knows what they harbour in their breasts.

Surah Number : 84 , Ayat Number : 23

"فَبَشِّرْهُمْ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ"

Fabashshirhum bi'azaabin aleem

So give them news of painful punishment,

Surah Number : 84 , Ayat Number : 24

"إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍ"

Illal lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati lahum ajrun ghairu mamnoon

Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending.

Surah Number : 84 , Ayat Number : 25

وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الْبُرُوجِ

Wassamaaa'i zaatil burooj

I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac,

Surah Number : 85 , Ayat Number : 1

"وَالْيَوْمِ الْمَوْعُودِ"

Wal yawmil maw'ood

And the promised day,

Surah Number : 85 , Ayat Number : 2

"وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ"

Wa shaahidinw wa mashhood

And the witness and the witnessed,

Surah Number : 85 , Ayat Number : 3

"قُتِلَ أَصْحَابُ الْأُخْدُودِ"

Qutila as haabul ukhdood

That accursed are the men of the trench

Surah Number : 85 , Ayat Number : 4

"النَّارِ ذَاتِ الْوَقُودِ"

Annaari zaatil waqood

Full of fire fed by faggots,

Surah Number : 85 , Ayat Number : 5

"إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌ"

Iz hum 'alaihaa qu'ood

As they sat around it

Surah Number : 85 , Ayat Number : 6

"وَهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌ"

Wa hum 'alaa maa yaf'aloona bilmu 'mineena shuhood

Witnessing what they had done to the believers!

Surah Number : 85 , Ayat Number : 7

"وَمَا نَقَمُوا مِنْهُمْ إِلَّا أَنْ يُؤْمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَمِيدِ"

Wa maa naqamoo minhum illaaa aiyu'minoo billaahil 'azeezil Hameed

They had no other reason for hating them except that they believed in God the mighty, worthy of praise,

Surah Number : 85 , Ayat Number : 8

"الَّذِي لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ"

Allazee lahoo mulkus samaawaati wal ard; wallaahu 'alaa kulli shai 'in Shaheed

Whose kingdom spreads over the heavens and the earth. God is witness over everything.

Surah Number : 85 , Ayat Number : 9

"إِنَّ الَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ الْحَرِيقِ"

Innal lazeena fatanul mu'mineena wal mu'minaati summa lam yatooboo falahum 'azaabu Jahannama wa lahum 'azaabul hareeq

Surely for those who persecute believers, men and women, and do not repent afterwards, is the punishment of Hell, and the punishment of burning.

Surah Number : 85 , Ayat Number : 10

"إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْكَبِيرُ"

Innal lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati lahum Jannaatun tajree min tahtihal anhaar; zaalikal fawzul kabeer

Surely for those who believe and do the right are gardens with rivers running by. That is the greatest success.

Surah Number : 85 , Ayat Number : 11

"إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ"

Inna batsha Rabbika lashadeed

The grip of your Lord is severe indeed!

Surah Number : 85 , Ayat Number : 12

"إِنَّهُ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ"

Innahoo Huwa yubdi'u wa yu'eed

It is verily He who initiates and repeats.

Surah Number : 85 , Ayat Number : 13

"وَهُوَ الْغَفُورُ الْوَدُودُ"

Wa Huwal Ghafoorul Wadood

He is the forgiving and the loving,

Surah Number : 85 , Ayat Number : 14

"ذُو الْعَرْشِ الْمَجِيدُ"

Zul 'Arshil Majeed

The Lord of the glorious Throne,

Surah Number : 85 , Ayat Number : 15

"فَعَّالٌ لِمَا يُرِيدُ"

Fa' 'aalul limaa yureed

Who does as He pleases.

Surah Number : 85 , Ayat Number : 16

"هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْجُنُودِ"

Hal ataaka hadeesul junood

Has the story of the hordes

Surah Number : 85 , Ayat Number : 17

"فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَ"

Fir'awna wa Samood

Of Pharaoh and Thamud come to you?

Surah Number : 85 , Ayat Number : 18

"بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي تَكْذِيبٍ"

Balil lazeena kafaroo fee takzeeb

Yet the infidels persist in denial.

Surah Number : 85 , Ayat Number : 19

"وَاللَّهُ مِنْ وَرَائِهِمْ مُحِيطٌ"

Wallaahu minw waraaa'ihim muheet

But God surrounds them from all sides.

Surah Number : 85 , Ayat Number : 20

"بَلْ هُوَ قُرْآنٌ مَجِيدٌ"

Bal huwa Quraanum Majeed

This is indeed the glorious Qur?an

Surah Number : 85 , Ayat Number : 21

"فِي لَوْحٍ مَحْفُوظٍ"

Fee Lawhim Mahfooz

(Preserved) on the guarded tablet.

Surah Number : 85 , Ayat Number : 22

وَالسَّمَاءِ وَالطَّارِقِ

Wassamaaa'i wattaariq

I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star --

Surah Number : 86 , Ayat Number : 1

"وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الطَّارِقُ"

Wa maaa adraaka mattaariq

How will you comprehend what the night star is?

Surah Number : 86 , Ayat Number : 2

"النَّجْمُ الثَّاقِبُ"

Annajmus saaqib

It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness --

Surah Number : 86 , Ayat Number : 3

"إِنْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌ"

In kullu nafsil lammaa 'alaihaa haafiz

That over each soul there is a guardian.

Surah Number : 86 , Ayat Number : 4

"فَلْيَنْظُرِ الْإِنْسَانُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ"

Fal yanzuril insaanu mimma khuliq

Let man consider what he was made of:

Surah Number : 86 , Ayat Number : 5

"خُلِقَ مِنْ مَاءٍ دَافِقٍ"

Khuliqa mim maaa'in daafiq

He was created of spurting water

Surah Number : 86 , Ayat Number : 6

"يَخْرُجُ مِنْ بَيْنِ الصُّلْبِ وَالتَّرَائِبِ"

Yakhruju mim bainissulbi wat taraaa'ib

Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs.

Surah Number : 86 , Ayat Number : 7

"إِنَّهُ عَلَىٰ رَجْعِهِ لَقَادِرٌ"

Innahoo 'alaa raj'ihee laqaadir

God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead).

Surah Number : 86 , Ayat Number : 8

"يَوْمَ تُبْلَى السَّرَائِرُ"

Yawma tublas saraaa'ir

The day all secrets are examined

Surah Number : 86 , Ayat Number : 9

"فَمَا لَهُ مِنْ قُوَّةٍ وَلَا نَاصِرٍ"

Famaa lahoo min quwwatinw wa laa naasir

He will have no strength or helper.

Surah Number : 86 , Ayat Number : 10

"وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الرَّجْعِ"

Wassamaaa'i zaatir raj'

So I call to witness the rain-producing sky,

Surah Number : 86 , Ayat Number : 11

"وَالْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ الصَّدْعِ"

Wal ardi zaatis sad'

And the earth which opens up (with verdure),

Surah Number : 86 , Ayat Number : 12

"إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ"

Innahoo laqawlun fasl

That this (Qur?an) is a decisive word

Surah Number : 86 , Ayat Number : 13

"وَمَا هُوَ بِالْهَزْلِ"

Wa maa huwa bil hazl

And no trifle.

Surah Number : 86 , Ayat Number : 14

"إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًا"

Innahum yakeedoona kaidaa

They are hatching up a plot,

Surah Number : 86 , Ayat Number : 15

"وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًا"

Wa akeedu kaidaa

But I too am devising a plan.

Surah Number : 86 , Ayat Number : 16

"فَمَهِّلِ الْكَافِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًا"

Famahhilil kaafireena amhilhum ruwaidaa

So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while.

Surah Number : 86 , Ayat Number : 17

سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى

Sabbihisma Rabbikal A'laa

GLORIFY THE NAME of your Lord, most high,

Surah Number : 87 , Ayat Number : 1

"الَّذِي خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ"

Allazee khalaqa fasawwaa

Who creates and proportions,

Surah Number : 87 , Ayat Number : 2

"وَالَّذِي قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ"

Wallazee qaddara fahadaa

Who determines and directs,

Surah Number : 87 , Ayat Number : 3

"وَالَّذِي أَخْرَجَ الْمَرْعَىٰ"

Wallazeee akhrajal mar'aa

Who brings out the pastures

Surah Number : 87 , Ayat Number : 4

"فَجَعَلَهُ غُثَاءً أَحْوَىٰ"

Faja'alahoo ghusaaa'an ahwaa

Then reduces them to rusty rubbish.

Surah Number : 87 , Ayat Number : 5

"سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنْسَىٰ"

Sanuqri'uka falaa tansaaa

We shall make you recite (the Qur?an) so that you will not forget it,

Surah Number : 87 , Ayat Number : 6

"إِلَّا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ يَعْلَمُ الْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ"

Illaa maa shaaa'al laah; innahoo ya'lamul jahra wa maa yakhfaa

Unless God may please. He knows the visible and knows what is hidden.

Surah Number : 87 , Ayat Number : 7

"وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ"

Wa nu-yassiruka lilyusraa

We shall take you slowly towards ease.

Surah Number : 87 , Ayat Number : 8

"فَذَكِّرْ إِنْ نَفَعَتِ الذِّكْرَىٰ"

Fazakkir in nafa'atizzikraa

So remind them if reminder is profitable:

Surah Number : 87 , Ayat Number : 9

"سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَنْ يَخْشَىٰ"

Sa yazzakkaru maiyakhshaa

Those who fear will understand.

Surah Number : 87 , Ayat Number : 10

"وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الْأَشْقَى"

Wa yatajannabuhal ashqaa

Only the wretch will turn aside,

Surah Number : 87 , Ayat Number : 11

"الَّذِي يَصْلَى النَّارَ الْكُبْرَىٰ"

Allazee yaslan Naaral kubraa

Who will burn in the terrible Fire,

Surah Number : 87 , Ayat Number : 12

"ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ"

Summa laa yamootu feehaa wa laa yahyaa

In which he will neither die nor live.

Surah Number : 87 , Ayat Number : 13

"قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَنْ تَزَكَّىٰ"

Qad aflaha man tazakkaa

Surely he will succeed who grows in goodness,

Surah Number : 87 , Ayat Number : 14

"وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّىٰ"

Wa zakaras ma Rabbihee fasallaa

And recites the name of his Lord and serves with devotion.

Surah Number : 87 , Ayat Number : 15

"بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا"

Bal tu'siroonal hayaatad dunyaa

But no, you prefer the life of the world,

Surah Number : 87 , Ayat Number : 16

"وَالْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰ"

Wal Aakhiratu khairunw wa abqaa

Though the life to come is better and abiding.

Surah Number : 87 , Ayat Number : 17

"إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَفِي الصُّحُفِ الْأُولَىٰ"

Inna haazaa lafis suhu fil oolaa

This is surely in the earlier Books,

Surah Number : 87 , Ayat Number : 18

"صُحُفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ"

Suhufi Ibraaheema wa Moosaa

The Books of Abraham and Moses.

Surah Number : 87 , Ayat Number : 19

هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ

Hal ataaka hadeesul ghaashiyah

HAS NEWS OF the Overpowering Event reached you?

Surah Number : 88 , Ayat Number : 1

"وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَاشِعَةٌ"

Wujoohuny yawma 'izin khaashi'ah

Many faces will be contrite on that day,

Surah Number : 88 , Ayat Number : 2

"عَامِلَةٌ نَاصِبَةٌ"

'Aamilatun naasibah

Labouring, wearied out,

Surah Number : 88 , Ayat Number : 3

"تَصْلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةً"

Taslaa naaran haamiyah

Burning in the scorching fire,

Surah Number : 88 , Ayat Number : 4

"تُسْقَىٰ مِنْ عَيْنٍ آنِيَةٍ"

Tusqaa min 'aynin aaniyah

Given water from the boiling spring to drink.

Surah Number : 88 , Ayat Number : 5

"لَيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنْ ضَرِيعٍ"

Laisa lahum ta'aamun illaa min daree'

They will have no food except bitter thorn,

Surah Number : 88 , Ayat Number : 6

"لَا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِي مِنْ جُوعٍ"

Laa yusminu wa laa yughnee min joo'

Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger.

Surah Number : 88 , Ayat Number : 7

"وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَاعِمَةٌ"

Wujoohuny yawma 'izin naa'imah

Many faces will be joyous on that day,

Surah Number : 88 , Ayat Number : 8

"لِسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌ"

Lisa'yihaa raadiyah

Well-pleased with their endeavour,

Surah Number : 88 , Ayat Number : 9

"فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ"

Fee jannatin 'aaliyah

In the high empyrean,

Surah Number : 88 , Ayat Number : 10

"لَا تَسْمَعُ فِيهَا لَاغِيَةً"

Laa tasma'u feehaa laaghiyah

Never hearing idle talk.

Surah Number : 88 , Ayat Number : 11

"فِيهَا عَيْنٌ جَارِيَةٌ"

Feehaa 'aynun jaariyah

There is a stream of running water in it;

Surah Number : 88 , Ayat Number : 12

"فِيهَا سُرُرٌ مَرْفُوعَةٌ"

Feehaa sururum marfoo'ah

And within it are couches placed on high,

Surah Number : 88 , Ayat Number : 13

"وَأَكْوَابٌ مَوْضُوعَةٌ"

Wa akwaabum mawzoo'ah

Goblets set,

Surah Number : 88 , Ayat Number : 14

"وَنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوفَةٌ"

Wa namaariqu masfoofah

Cushions arranged,

Surah Number : 88 , Ayat Number : 15

"وَزَرَابِيُّ مَبْثُوثَةٌ"

Wa zaraabiyyu mabsoosah

And rich carpets spread.

Surah Number : 88 , Ayat Number : 16

"أَفَلَا يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَى الْإِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْ"

Afalaa yanzuroona ilalibili kaifa khuliqat

Do they not then ponder how the clouds were formed;

Surah Number : 88 , Ayat Number : 17

"وَإِلَى السَّمَاءِ كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ"

Wa ilas samaaa'i kaifa rufi'at

And the heavens, how it was raised high;

Surah Number : 88 , Ayat Number : 18

"وَإِلَى الْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ"

Wa ilal jibaali kaifa nusibat

And the mountains, how they were fixed;

Surah Number : 88 , Ayat Number : 19

"وَإِلَى الْأَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ"

Wa ilal ardi kaifa sutihat

And the earth, how it was spread out?

Surah Number : 88 , Ayat Number : 20

"فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ مُذَكِّرٌ"

Fazakkir innama anta Muzakkir

Remind them; you are surely a reminder.

Surah Number : 88 , Ayat Number : 21

"لَسْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِمُصَيْطِرٍ"

Lasta 'alaihim bimusaitir

You are not a warden over them,

Surah Number : 88 , Ayat Number : 22

"إِلَّا مَنْ تَوَلَّىٰ وَكَفَرَ"

Illaa man tawallaa wa kafar

Other than him who turns his back and denies,

Surah Number : 88 , Ayat Number : 23

"فَيُعَذِّبُهُ اللَّهُ الْعَذَابَ الْأَكْبَرَ"

Fa yu'azzibuhul laahul 'azaabal akbar

In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment.

Surah Number : 88 , Ayat Number : 24

"إِنَّ إِلَيْنَا إِيَابَهُمْ"

Innaa ilainaaa iyaabahum

To Us is surely their returning;

Surah Number : 88 , Ayat Number : 25

"ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا حِسَابَهُمْ"

Summa inna 'alainaa hisaabahum

Ours is surely then to reckon with them.

Surah Number : 88 , Ayat Number : 26

وَالْفَجْرِ

Wal-Fajr

I CALL TO witness the dawn

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 1

"وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ"

Wa layaalin 'ashr

And the Ten Nights,

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 2

"وَالشَّفْعِ وَالْوَتْرِ"

Wash shaf'i wal watr

The multiple and the one,

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 3

"وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَسْرِ"

Wallaili izaa yasr

The night as it advances,

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 4

"هَلْ فِي ذَٰلِكَ قَسَمٌ لِذِي حِجْرٍ"

Hal fee zaalika qasamul lizee hijr

Is there not an evidence in this for those who have sense?

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 5

"أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ"

Alam tara kaifa fa'ala rabbuka bi'aad

Have you not seen what your Lord did to the ?Ad

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 6

"إِرَمَ ذَاتِ الْعِمَادِ"

Iramaa zaatil 'imaad

Of Eram with lofty pillars (erected as signposts in the desert),

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 7

"الَّتِي لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِي الْبِلَادِ"

Allatee lam yukhlaq misluhaa fil bilaad

The like of whom were never created in the realm;

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 8

"وَثَمُودَ الَّذِينَ جَابُوا الصَّخْرَ بِالْوَادِ"

Wa samoodal lazeena jaabus sakhra bil waad

And with Thamud who carved rocks in the valley;

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 9

"وَفِرْعَوْنَ ذِي الْأَوْتَادِ"

Wa fir'awna zil awtaad

And the mighty Pharaoh

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 10

"الَّذِينَ طَغَوْا فِي الْبِلَادِ"

Allazeena taghaw fil bilaad

Who terrorised the region,

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 11

"فَأَكْثَرُوا فِيهَا الْفَسَادَ"

Fa aksaroo feehal fasaad

And multiplied corruption.

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 12

"فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ عَذَابٍ"

Fasabba 'alaihim Rabbuka sawta 'azaab

So your Lord poured a scourge of punishment over them.

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 13

"إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِالْمِرْصَادِ"

Inna Rabbaka labil mirsaad

Your Lord is certainly in wait.

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 14

"فَأَمَّا الْإِنْسَانُ إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ رَبُّهُ فَأَكْرَمَهُ وَنَعَّمَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَكْرَمَنِ"

Fa ammal insaanu izaa mab talaahu Rabbuhoo fa akramahoo wa na' 'amahoo fa yaqoolu Rabbeee akraman

As for man, whenever his Lord tries him and then is gracious and provides good things for him, he says: "My Lord has been gracious to me."

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 15

"وَأَمَّا إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَهَانَنِ"

Wa ammaaa izaa mabtalaahu faqadara 'alaihi rizqahoo fa yaqoolu Rabbeee ahaanan

But when He tries him by restraining his means, he says: "My Lord despises me."

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 16

"كَلَّا ۖ بَلْ لَا تُكْرِمُونَ الْيَتِيمَ"

Kalla bal laa tukrimooo nal yateem

No. In fact you are not generous to the orphans,

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 17

"وَلَا تَحَاضُّونَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ"

Wa laa tahaaaddoona 'alaata'aamil miskeen

Nor do you urge one another to feed the poor,

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 18

"وَتَأْكُلُونَ التُّرَاثَ أَكْلًا لَمًّا"

Wa taakuloonat turaasa aklal lammaa

And you devour (others?) inheritance greedily,

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 19

"وَتُحِبُّونَ الْمَالَ حُبًّا جَمًّا"

Wa tuhibboonal maala hubban jammaa

And love wealth with all your heart.

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 20

"كَلَّا إِذَا دُكَّتِ الْأَرْضُ دَكًّا دَكًّا"

Kallaaa izaaa dukkatil ardu dakkan dakka

Surely when We pound the earth to powder grounded, pounded to dust,

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 21

"وَجَاءَ رَبُّكَ وَالْمَلَكُ صَفًّا صَفًّا"

Wa jaaa'a Rabbuka wal malaku saffan saffaa

And comes your Lord, and angels row on row,

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 22

"وَجِيءَ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِجَهَنَّمَ ۚ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَذَكَّرُ الْإِنْسَانُ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُ الذِّكْرَىٰ"

Wa jeee'a yawma'izim bi jahannnam; Yawma 'iziny yatazakkarul insaanu wa annaa lahuz zikraa

And Hell is brought near, that day will man remember, but of what avail will then remembering be?

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 23

"يَقُولُ يَا لَيْتَنِي قَدَّمْتُ لِحَيَاتِي"

Yaqoolu yaa laitanee qaddamtu lihayaatee

He will say: "Alas the woe! Would that I had sent ahead something in my life."

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 24

"فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُ أَحَدٌ"

Fa Yawma izil laa yu'azzibu 'azaabahooo ahad

None can punish as He will punish on that day,

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 25

"وَلَا يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُ أَحَدٌ"

Wa laa yoosiqu wasaaqa hooo ahad

And none can bind as He will bind.

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 26

"يَا أَيَّتُهَا النَّفْسُ الْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ"

Yaaa ayyatuhan nafsul mutma 'innah

O you tranquil soul,

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 27

"ارْجِعِي إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَرْضِيَّةً"

Irji'eee ilaa Rabbiki raadiyatam mardiyyah

Return to your Lord, well-pleased and well-pleasing Him.

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 28

"فَادْخُلِي فِي عِبَادِي"

Fadkhulee fee 'ibaadee

"Enter then among My votaries,

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 29

"وَادْخُلِي جَنَّتِي"

Wadkhulee jannatee

Enter then My garden."

Surah Number : 89 , Ayat Number : 30

"لَا أُقْسِمُ بِهَٰذَا الْبَلَدِ"

Laaa uqsimu bihaazal balad

I CALL THIS earth to witness --

Surah Number : 90 , Ayat Number : 1

"وَأَنْتَ حِلٌّ بِهَٰذَا الْبَلَدِ"

Wa anta hillum bihaazal balad

And you are free to live upon it, --

Surah Number : 90 , Ayat Number : 2

"وَوَالِدٍ وَمَا وَلَدَ"

Wa waalidinw wa maa walad

And the parent and the offspring,

Surah Number : 90 , Ayat Number : 3

"لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنْسَانَ فِي كَبَدٍ"

Laqad khalaqnal insaana fee kabad

That We created man in toil and trouble.

Surah Number : 90 , Ayat Number : 4

"أَيَحْسَبُ أَنْ لَنْ يَقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ أَحَدٌ"

Ayahsabu al-lai yaqdira 'alaihi ahad

Does he think that no one has power over him?

Surah Number : 90 , Ayat Number : 5

"يَقُولُ أَهْلَكْتُ مَالًا لُبَدًا"

Yaqoolu ahlaktu maalal lubadaa

He says: "I have wasted a great deal of wealth."

Surah Number : 90 , Ayat Number : 6

"أَيَحْسَبُ أَنْ لَمْ يَرَهُ أَحَدٌ"

Ayahsabu al lam yarahooo ahad

Does he think that no one sees him?

Surah Number : 90 , Ayat Number : 7

"أَلَمْ نَجْعَلْ لَهُ عَيْنَيْنِ"

Alam naj'al lahoo 'aynayn

Did We not give him two eyes,

Surah Number : 90 , Ayat Number : 8

"وَلِسَانًا وَشَفَتَيْنِ"

Wa lisaananw wa shafatayn

One tongue, and two lips,

Surah Number : 90 , Ayat Number : 9

"وَهَدَيْنَاهُ النَّجْدَيْنِ"

Wa hadaynaahun najdayn

And showed him two highways (of good and evil)?

Surah Number : 90 , Ayat Number : 10

"فَلَا اقْتَحَمَ الْعَقَبَةَ"

Falaq tahamal-'aqabah

But he could not scale the steep ascent.

Surah Number : 90 , Ayat Number : 11

"وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْعَقَبَةُ"

Wa maaa adraaka mal'aqabah

How will you comprehend what the Steep ascent is? --

Surah Number : 90 , Ayat Number : 12

"فَكُّ رَقَبَةٍ"

Fakku raqabah

To free a neck (from the burden of debt or slavery),

Surah Number : 90 , Ayat Number : 13

"أَوْ إِطْعَامٌ فِي يَوْمٍ ذِي مَسْغَبَةٍ"

Aw it'aamun fee yawmin zee masghabah

Or to feed in times of famine

Surah Number : 90 , Ayat Number : 14

"يَتِيمًا ذَا مَقْرَبَةٍ"

Yateeman zaa maqrabah

The orphan near in relationship,

Surah Number : 90 , Ayat Number : 15

"أَوْ مِسْكِينًا ذَا مَتْرَبَةٍ"

Aw miskeenan zaa matrabah

Or the poor in distress;

Surah Number : 90 , Ayat Number : 16

"ثُمَّ كَانَ مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْمَرْحَمَةِ"

Summa kaana minal lazeena aamanoo wa tawaasaw bissabri wa tawaasaw bilmarhamah

And to be of those who believe, and urge upon one another to persevere, and urge upon each other to be kind.

Surah Number : 90 , Ayat Number : 17

"أُولَٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ"

Ulaaa'ika As-haabul maimanah

They are the people of the right hand (and will succeed).

Surah Number : 90 , Ayat Number : 18

"وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِآيَاتِنَا هُمْ أَصْحَابُ الْمَشْأَمَةِ"

Wallazeena kafaroo bi aayaatinaa hum as-haabul Mash'amah

But those who deny Our revelations are the people of the left hand:

Surah Number : 90 , Ayat Number : 19

"عَلَيْهِمْ نَارٌ مُؤْصَدَةٌ"

Alaihim naarum mu'sadah

The Fire will vault them over.

Surah Number : 90 , Ayat Number : 20

وَالشَّمْسِ وَضُحَاهَا

Wash shamsi wa duhaa haa

I CALL TO witness the sun and his early morning splendour,

Surah Number : 91 , Ayat Number : 1

"وَالْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَاهَا"

Wal qamari izaa talaa haa

And the moon as she follows in his wake,

Surah Number : 91 , Ayat Number : 2

"وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّاهَا"

Wannahaari izaa jallaa haa

The day when it reveals his radiance,

Surah Number : 91 , Ayat Number : 3

"وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَاهَا"

Wallaili izaa yaghshaa haa

The night when it covers him over,

Surah Number : 91 , Ayat Number : 4

"وَالسَّمَاءِ وَمَا بَنَاهَا"

Wassamaaa'i wa maa banaahaa

The heavens and its architecture,

Surah Number : 91 , Ayat Number : 5

"وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَاهَا"

Wal ardi wa maa tahaahaa

The earth and its spreading out,

Surah Number : 91 , Ayat Number : 6

"وَنَفْسٍ وَمَا سَوَّاهَا"

Wa nafsinw wa maa sawwaahaa

The soul and how it was integrated

Surah Number : 91 , Ayat Number : 7

"فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَاهَا"

Fa-alhamahaa fujoorahaa wa taqwaahaa

And given the faculty of knowing what is disruptive and what is intrinsic to it.

Surah Number : 91 , Ayat Number : 8

"قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَنْ زَكَّاهَا"

Qad aflaha man zakkaahaa

He who nourishes it will surely be successful,

Surah Number : 91 , Ayat Number : 9

"وَقَدْ خَابَ مَنْ دَسَّاهَا"

Wa qad khaaba man dassaahaa

And he who confines it will surely come to grief.

Surah Number : 91 , Ayat Number : 10

"كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَاهَا"

Kazzabat Samoodu bi taghwaahaaa

The Thamud denied (the truth) in their perverseness

Surah Number : 91 , Ayat Number : 11

"إِذِ انْبَعَثَ أَشْقَاهَا"

Izim ba'asa ashqaahaa

When among them the great wretch arose,

Surah Number : 91 , Ayat Number : 12

"فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ نَاقَةَ اللَّهِ وَسُقْيَاهَا"

Faqaala lahum Rasoolul laahi naaqatal laahi wa suqiyaahaa

And the apostle of God had to tell them: "This is God?s she-camel, let her drink."

Surah Number : 91 , Ayat Number : 13

"فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ بِذَنْبِهِمْ فَسَوَّاهَا"

Fakazzaboohu fa'aqaroohaa fadamdama 'alaihim Rabbuhum bizambihim fasaw waahaa

But they called him a liar and hamstrung her. So God obliterated them for their crime, and (destroyed) all of them alike.

Surah Number : 91 , Ayat Number : 14

"وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقْبَاهَا"

Wa laa yakhaafu'uqbaahaa

He does not fear the consequence.

Surah Number : 91 , Ayat Number : 15

وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ

Wallaili izaa yaghshaa

I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over,

Surah Number : 92 , Ayat Number : 1

"وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ"

Wannahaari izaa tajalla

And the day when it shines in all its glory,

Surah Number : 92 , Ayat Number : 2

"وَمَا خَلَقَ الذَّكَرَ وَالْأُنْثَىٰ"

Wa maa khalaqaz zakara wal unthaa

And Him who created the male and female,

Surah Number : 92 , Ayat Number : 3

"إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ"

Inna sa'yakum lashattaa

That your endeavour is for different ends.

Surah Number : 92 , Ayat Number : 4

"فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَاتَّقَىٰ"

Fa ammaa man a'taa wattaqaa

Yet he who gives to others and has fear,

Surah Number : 92 , Ayat Number : 5

"وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنَىٰ"

Wa saddaqa bil husnaa

And affirms goodness,

Surah Number : 92 , Ayat Number : 6

"فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ"

Fasanu yassiruhoo lilyusraa

We shall ease the way of fortune for him.

Surah Number : 92 , Ayat Number : 7

"وَأَمَّا مَنْ بَخِلَ وَاسْتَغْنَىٰ"

Wa ammaa man bakhila wastaghnaa

But he who does not give and is unconcerned,

Surah Number : 92 , Ayat Number : 8

"وَكَذَّبَ بِالْحُسْنَىٰ"

Wa kazzaba bil husnaa

And rejects goodness,

Surah Number : 92 , Ayat Number : 9

"فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْعُسْرَىٰ"

Fasanu yassiruhoo lil'usraa

For him We shall ease the way of adversity,

Surah Number : 92 , Ayat Number : 10

"وَمَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُ مَالُهُ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰ"

Wa maa yughnee 'anhu maaluhooo izaa taraddaa

And his riches will not avail him when he falls headlong (into the Abyss).

Surah Number : 92 , Ayat Number : 11

"إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَىٰ"

Inna 'alainaa lal hudaa

It is indeed for Us to show the way,

Surah Number : 92 , Ayat Number : 12

"وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْآخِرَةَ وَالْأُولَىٰ"

Wa inna lanaa lal Aakhirata wal oolaa

And to Us belong the End and the Beginning.

Surah Number : 92 , Ayat Number : 13

"فَأَنْذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظَّىٰ"

Fa anzartukum naaran talazzaa

So, I warn you of the blazing Fire.

Surah Number : 92 , Ayat Number : 14

"لَا يَصْلَاهَا إِلَّا الْأَشْقَى"

Laa yaslaahaaa illal ashqaa

No one will burn in it but the most wretched,

Surah Number : 92 , Ayat Number : 15

"الَّذِي كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ"

Allazee kazzaba wa tawallaa

Who denied (the truth) and turned away.

Surah Number : 92 , Ayat Number : 16

"وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا الْأَتْقَى"

Wa sa yujannnabuhal atqaa

But save him who fears

Surah Number : 92 , Ayat Number : 17

"الَّذِي يُؤْتِي مَالَهُ يَتَزَكَّىٰ"

Allazee yu'tee maalahoo yatazakkaa

And gives of his wealth that he may grow in virtue,

Surah Number : 92 , Ayat Number : 18

"وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِنْدَهُ مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ تُجْزَىٰ"

Wa maa li ahadin 'indahoo min ni'matin tujzaaa

And is under no one?s obligation to return his favour,

Surah Number : 92 , Ayat Number : 19

"إِلَّا ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ الْأَعْلَىٰ"

Illab tighaaa'a wajhi rabbihil a 'laa

Other than seeking the glory of his Lord, most high,

Surah Number : 92 , Ayat Number : 20

"وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَىٰ"

Wa lasawfa yardaa

Will surely be gratified.

Surah Number : 92 , Ayat Number : 21

وَالضُّحَىٰ

Wad duhaa

I CALL TO witness the early hours of morning,

Surah Number : 93 , Ayat Number : 1

"وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا سَجَىٰ"

Wal laili iza sajaa

And the night when dark and still,

Surah Number : 93 , Ayat Number : 2

"مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلَىٰ"

Ma wad da'aka rabbuka wa ma qalaa

Your Lord has neither left you, nor despises you.

Surah Number : 93 , Ayat Number : 3

"وَلَلْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لَكَ مِنَ الْأُولَىٰ"

Walal-aakhiratu khairul laka minal-oola

What is to come is better for you than what has gone before;

Surah Number : 93 , Ayat Number : 4

"وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضَىٰ"

Wa la sawfa y'uteeka rabbuka fatarda

For your Lord will certainly give you, and you will be content.

Surah Number : 93 , Ayat Number : 5

"أَلَمْ يَجِدْكَ يَتِيمًا فَآوَىٰ"

Alam ya jidka yateeman fa aawaa

Did He not find you an orphan and take care of you?

Surah Number : 93 , Ayat Number : 6

"وَوَجَدَكَ ضَالًّا فَهَدَىٰ"

Wa wa jadaka daal lan fahada

Did He not find you perplexed, and show you the way?

Surah Number : 93 , Ayat Number : 7

"وَوَجَدَكَ عَائِلًا فَأَغْنَىٰ"

Wa wa jadaka 'aa-ilan fa aghnaa

Did He not find you poor and enrich you?

Surah Number : 93 , Ayat Number : 8

"فَأَمَّا الْيَتِيمَ فَلَا تَقْهَرْ"

Fa am mal yateema fala taqhar

So do not oppress the orphan,

Surah Number : 93 , Ayat Number : 9

"وَأَمَّا السَّائِلَ فَلَا تَنْهَرْ"

Wa am mas saa-ila fala tanhar

And do not drive the beggar away,

Surah Number : 93 , Ayat Number : 10

"وَأَمَّا بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ فَحَدِّثْ"

Wa amma bi ni'mati rabbika fahad dith

And keep recounting the favours of your Lord.

Surah Number : 93 , Ayat Number : 11

أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ

Alam nashrah laka sadrak

HAVE WE NOT opened up your breast

Surah Number : 94 , Ayat Number : 1

"وَوَضَعْنَا عَنْكَ وِزْرَكَ"

Wa wa d'ana 'anka wizrak

And removed your burden

Surah Number : 94 , Ayat Number : 2

"الَّذِي أَنْقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ"

Allazee anqada zahrak

Which had left you devoid of hope,

Surah Number : 94 , Ayat Number : 3

"وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ"

Wa raf 'ana laka zikrak

And exalted your fame?

Surah Number : 94 , Ayat Number : 4

"فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا"

Fa inna ma'al usri yusra

Surely with hardship there is ease.

Surah Number : 94 , Ayat Number : 5

"إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا"

Inna ma'al 'usri yusra

With hardship indeed there is ease.

Surah Number : 94 , Ayat Number : 6

"فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَانْصَبْ"

Fa iza faragh ta fansab

So when you are free work diligently,

Surah Number : 94 , Ayat Number : 7

"وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَارْغَبْ"

Wa ilaa rabbika far ghab

And turn to your Lord with all your love.

Surah Number : 94 , Ayat Number : 8

وَالتِّينِ وَالزَّيْتُونِ

Wat teeni waz zaitoon

I CALL TO witness the Fig and the Olive,

Surah Number : 95 , Ayat Number : 1

"وَطُورِ سِينِينَ"

Wa toori sineen

The Mount Sinai,

Surah Number : 95 , Ayat Number : 2

"وَهَٰذَا الْبَلَدِ الْأَمِينِ"

Wa haazal balad-il ameen

And this Soil Secure,

Surah Number : 95 , Ayat Number : 3

"لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنْسَانَ فِي أَحْسَنِ تَقْوِيمٍ"

Laqad khalaqnal insaana fee ahsani taqweem

That We created man of finest possibilities,

Surah Number : 95 , Ayat Number : 4

"ثُمَّ رَدَدْنَاهُ أَسْفَلَ سَافِلِينَ"

Thumma ra dad naahu asfala saafileen

Then brought him down to the lowest of the low,

Surah Number : 95 , Ayat Number : 5

"إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ فَلَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍ"

Ill-lal lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati; falahum ajrun ghairu mamnoon

Except those who believe and do the right, for whom there is reward undiminished.

Surah Number : 95 , Ayat Number : 6

"فَمَا يُكَذِّبُكَ بَعْدُ بِالدِّينِ"

Fama yu kaz zibuka b'adu bid deen

Who should then make you deny the Judgement after this?

Surah Number : 95 , Ayat Number : 7

"أَلَيْسَ اللَّهُ بِأَحْكَمِ الْحَاكِمِينَ"

Alai sal laahu bi-ahkamil haakimeen

Is not God the most equitable of all judges?

Surah Number : 95 , Ayat Number : 8

اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ

Iqra bismi rab bikal lazee khalaq

READ IN THE name of your Lord who created,

Surah Number : 96 , Ayat Number : 1

"خَلَقَ الْإِنْسَانَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ"

Khalaqal insaana min 'alaq

Created man from an embryo;

Surah Number : 96 , Ayat Number : 2

"اقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ الْأَكْرَمُ"

Iqra wa rab bukal akram

Read, for your Lord is most beneficent,

Surah Number : 96 , Ayat Number : 3

"الَّذِي عَلَّمَ بِالْقَلَمِ"

Al lazee 'allama bil qalam

Who taught by the pen,

Surah Number : 96 , Ayat Number : 4

"عَلَّمَ الْإِنْسَانَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْ"

'Al lamal insaana ma lam y'alam

Taught man what he did not know.

Surah Number : 96 , Ayat Number : 5

"كَلَّا إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ لَيَطْغَىٰ"

Kallaa innal insaana layatghaa

And yet, but yet man is rebellious,

Surah Number : 96 , Ayat Number : 6

"أَنْ رَآهُ اسْتَغْنَىٰ"

Ar-ra aahus taghnaa

For he thinks he is sufficient in himself.

Surah Number : 96 , Ayat Number : 7

"إِنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ الرُّجْعَىٰ"

Innna ilaa rabbikar ruj'aa

Surely your returning is to your Lord.

Surah Number : 96 , Ayat Number : 8

"أَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي يَنْهَىٰ"

Ara-aital lazee yanhaa

Have you seen him who restrains

Surah Number : 96 , Ayat Number : 9

"عَبْدًا إِذَا صَلَّىٰ"

'Abdan iza sallaa

A votary when he turns to his devotions?

Surah Number : 96 , Ayat Number : 10

"أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَانَ عَلَى الْهُدَىٰ"

Ara-aita in kana 'alal hudaa

Have you thought, if he had been on guidance

Surah Number : 96 , Ayat Number : 11

"أَوْ أَمَرَ بِالتَّقْوَىٰ"

Au amara bit taqwaa

Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)?

Surah Number : 96 , Ayat Number : 12

"أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ"

Ara-aita in kaz zaba wa ta walla

Have you thought that if he denies and turns away,

Surah Number : 96 , Ayat Number : 13

"أَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ يَرَىٰ"

Alam y'alam bi-an nal lahaa yaraa

Does he not know that God sees?

Surah Number : 96 , Ayat Number : 14

"كَلَّا لَئِنْ لَمْ يَنْتَهِ لَنَسْفَعًا بِالنَّاصِيَةِ"

Kalla la illam yantahi la nasfa'am bin nasiyah

And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock,

Surah Number : 96 , Ayat Number : 15

"نَاصِيَةٍ كَاذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍ"

Nasiyatin kazi batin khaatiyah

By the lying, the sinful forelock.

Surah Number : 96 , Ayat Number : 16

"فَلْيَدْعُ نَادِيَهُ"

Fal yad'u naadiyah

So let him call his associates,

Surah Number : 96 , Ayat Number : 17

"سَنَدْعُ الزَّبَانِيَةَ"

Sanad 'uz zabaaniyah

We shall call the guards of Hell.

Surah Number : 96 , Ayat Number : 18

"كَلَّا لَا تُطِعْهُ وَاسْجُدْ وَاقْتَرِبْ ۩"

Kalla; la tuti'hu wasjud waqtarib (make sajda)

Beware! Do not obey him, but bow in adoration and draw near (to your Lord).

Surah Number : 96 , Ayat Number : 19

إِنَّا أَنْزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ

Innaa anzalnaahu fee lailatil qadr

TRULY WE REVEALED it on the Night of Determination.

Surah Number : 97 , Ayat Number : 1

"وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ"

Wa maa adraaka ma lailatul qadr

How will you know what the Night of Determination is?

Surah Number : 97 , Ayat Number : 2

"لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ"

Lailatul qadri khairum min alfee shahr

Better is the Night of Determination than a thousand months.

Surah Number : 97 , Ayat Number : 3

"تَنَزَّلُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَالرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ مِنْ كُلِّ أَمْرٍ"

Tanaz zalul malaa-ikatu war roohu feeha bi izni-rab bihim min kulli amr

On (this night) the angels and grace descend by the dispensation of their Lord, for settling all affairs.

Surah Number : 97 , Ayat Number : 4

"سَلَامٌ هِيَ حَتَّىٰ مَطْلَعِ الْفَجْرِ"

Salaamun hiya hattaa mat la'il fajr

It is peace till the dawning of the day.

Surah Number : 97 , Ayat Number : 5

لَمْ يَكُنِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ وَالْمُشْرِكِينَ مُنْفَكِّينَ حَتَّىٰ تَأْتِيَهُمُ الْبَيِّنَةُ

Lam ya kunil lazeena kafaru min ahlil kitaabi wal mushri keena mun fak keena hattaa ta-tiya humul bayyinah

THOSE AMONG THE people of the Book who disbelieve, and the idolaters, would not have been freed (from false beliefs) until the clear proof came to them --

Surah Number : 98 , Ayat Number : 1

"رَسُولٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ يَتْلُو صُحُفًا مُطَهَّرَةً"

Rasoolum minal laahi yatlu suhufam mutahharah

An Apostle from God, reading out hallowed pages

Surah Number : 98 , Ayat Number : 2

"فِيهَا كُتُبٌ قَيِّمَةٌ"

Feeha kutubun qaiyimah

Containing firm decrees.

Surah Number : 98 , Ayat Number : 3

"وَمَا تَفَرَّقَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ إِلَّا مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَتْهُمُ الْبَيِّنَةُ"

Wa maa tafarraqal lazeena ootul kitaaba il-la mim b'adi ma jaa-at humul baiyyinah

The people of the Book were not divided among themselves till after the clear proof had come to them.

Surah Number : 98 , Ayat Number : 4

"وَمَا أُمِرُوا إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ حُنَفَاءَ وَيُقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَيُؤْتُوا الزَّكَاةَ ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ دِينُ الْقَيِّمَةِ"

Wa maa umiroo il-la liy'abu dul laaha mukhliseena lahud-deena huna faa-a wa yuqeemus salaahta wa yu-tuz zakaata; wa zaalika deenul qaiyimah

They were commanded only to serve God with all-exclusive faith in Him, to be upright, and to fulfil their devotional obligations, and to give zakat; for this is the even way.

Surah Number : 98 , Ayat Number : 5

"إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ وَالْمُشْرِكِينَ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ هُمْ شَرُّ الْبَرِيَّةِ"

Innal lazeena kafaru min ahlil kitaabi wal mushri keena fee nari jahan nama khaali deena feeha; ulaa-ika hum shar rul ba reeyah

Surely the unbelievers among the people of the Book and the idolaters, will abide in the fire of Hell. They are the worst of creatures.

Surah Number : 98 , Ayat Number : 6

"إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ أُولَٰئِكَ هُمْ خَيْرُ الْبَرِيَّةِ"

Innal lazeena aamanu wa 'amilus saalihaati ula-ika hum khairul bareey yah

But those who believe and do the right are surely the best of created beings,

Surah Number : 98 , Ayat Number : 7

"جَزَاؤُهُمْ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّاتُ عَدْنٍ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا ۖ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا عَنْهُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَنْ خَشِيَ رَبَّهُ"

Jazaa-uhum inda rabbihim jan naatu 'adnin tajree min tahtihal an haaru khalideena feeha abada; radiy-yallaahu 'anhum wa ra du 'an zaalika liman khashiya rabbah.

Whose reward is with their Lord -- gardens of Eden with rivers flowing by, where they will abide for ever, God pleased with their service, they with obedience to Him. This (awaits) him who stands in awe of his Lord.

Surah Number : 98 , Ayat Number : 8

إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ الْأَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَا

Izaa zul zilatil ardu zil zaalaha

WHEN THE WORLD is shaken up by its cataclysm,

Surah Number : 99 , Ayat Number : 1

"وَأَخْرَجَتِ الْأَرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَا"

Wa akh rajatil ardu athqaalaha

And the earth throws out its burdens,

Surah Number : 99 , Ayat Number : 2

"وَقَالَ الْإِنْسَانُ مَا لَهَا"

Wa qaalal insaanu ma laha

And man enquires: "What has come over it?"

Surah Number : 99 , Ayat Number : 3

"يَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَا"

Yawmaa izin tuhad dithu akhbaaraha

That day it will narrate its annals,

Surah Number : 99 , Ayat Number : 4

"بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوْحَىٰ لَهَا"

Bi-anna rabbaka awhaa laha

For your Lord will have commanded it.

Surah Number : 99 , Ayat Number : 5

"يَوْمَئِذٍ يَصْدُرُ النَّاسُ أَشْتَاتًا لِيُرَوْا أَعْمَالَهُمْ"

Yawma iziny yas durun naasu ash tatal liyuraw a'maalahum

That day people will proceed separately to be shown their deeds.

Surah Number : 99 , Ayat Number : 6

"فَمَنْ يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُ"

Famaiy ya'mal mithqala zarratin khai raiy-yarah

Whosoever has done even an atom?s weight of good will behold it;

Surah Number : 99 , Ayat Number : 7

"وَمَنْ يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَرَهُ"

Wa maiy-y'amal mithqala zarratin sharraiy-yarah

And whosoever has done even an atom?s weight of evil will behold that.

Surah Number : 99 , Ayat Number : 8

وَالْعَادِيَاتِ ضَبْحًا

Wal'aadi yaati dabha

I CALL TO witness the chargers, snorting, rushing to battle before the others,

Surah Number : 100 , Ayat Number : 1

"فَالْمُورِيَاتِ قَدْحًا"

Fal moori yaati qadha

Then those striking sparks of fire,

Surah Number : 100 , Ayat Number : 2

"فَالْمُغِيرَاتِ صُبْحًا"

Fal mugheeraati subha

Then those charging in the morning

Surah Number : 100 , Ayat Number : 3

"فَأَثَرْنَ بِهِ نَقْعًا"

Fa atharna bihee naq'a

Raising clouds of dust,

Surah Number : 100 , Ayat Number : 4

"فَوَسَطْنَ بِهِ جَمْعًا"

Fawa satna bihee jam'a

Penetrating deep into the armies,

Surah Number : 100 , Ayat Number : 5

"إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ لِرَبِّهِ لَكَنُودٌ"

Innal-insana lirabbihee lakanood

That man is ungrateful to his Lord

Surah Number : 100 , Ayat Number : 6

"وَإِنَّهُ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ لَشَهِيدٌ"

Wa innahu 'alaa zaalika la shaheed

And is himself witness to it,

Surah Number : 100 , Ayat Number : 7

"وَإِنَّهُ لِحُبِّ الْخَيْرِ لَشَدِيدٌ"

Wa innahu lihubbil khairi la shadeed

And is intractable in his love of worldly goods.

Surah Number : 100 , Ayat Number : 8

"۞ أَفَلَا يَعْلَمُ إِذَا بُعْثِرَ مَا فِي الْقُبُورِ"

Afala ya'lamu iza b'uthira ma filquboor

Does he not know when the contents of the graves are laid bare

Surah Number : 100 , Ayat Number : 9

"وَحُصِّلَ مَا فِي الصُّدُورِ"

Wa hussila maa fis sudoor

And the secrets of the hearts exposed,

Surah Number : 100 , Ayat Number : 10

"إِنَّ رَبَّهُمْ بِهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَخَبِيرٌ"

Inna rabbahum bihim yauma 'izil la khabeer

Surely their Lord will be aware of their (deeds).

Surah Number : 100 , Ayat Number : 11

الْقَارِعَةُ

Al qaari'ah

THE STARTLING CALAMITY.

Surah Number : 101 , Ayat Number : 1

"مَا الْقَارِعَةُ"

Mal qaariah

What is the startling calamity?

Surah Number : 101 , Ayat Number : 2

"وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْقَارِعَةُ"

Wa maa adraaka mal qaari'ah

How will you comprehend what the startling calamity is? --

Surah Number : 101 , Ayat Number : 3

"يَوْمَ يَكُونُ النَّاسُ كَالْفَرَاشِ الْمَبْثُوثِ"

Yauma ya koonun naasu kal farashil mabthooth

A Day on which human beings would be like so many scattered moths,

Surah Number : 101 , Ayat Number : 4

"وَتَكُونُ الْجِبَالُ كَالْعِهْنِ الْمَنْفُوشِ"

Wa ta koonul jibalu kal 'ihnil manfoosh

The mountains like the tufts of carded wool.

Surah Number : 101 , Ayat Number : 5

"فَأَمَّا مَنْ ثَقُلَتْ مَوَازِينُهُ"

Fa-amma man thaqulat mawa zeenuh

Then he whose deeds shall weigh heavier in the scale

Surah Number : 101 , Ayat Number : 6

"فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٍ رَاضِيَةٍ"

Fahuwa fee 'ishatir raadiyah

Will have a tranquil life;

Surah Number : 101 , Ayat Number : 7

"وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَازِينُهُ"

Wa amma man khaffat mawa zeenuh

But he whose deeds are lighter in the balance

Surah Number : 101 , Ayat Number : 8

"فَأُمُّهُ هَاوِيَةٌ"

Fa-ummuhu haawiyah

Will have the Abyss for abode.

Surah Number : 101 , Ayat Number : 9

"وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا هِيَهْ"

Wa maa adraaka maa hiyah

How will you comprehend what that is?

Surah Number : 101 , Ayat Number : 10

"نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌ"

Naarun hamiyah

It is the scorching fire.

Surah Number : 101 , Ayat Number : 11

أَلْهَاكُمُ التَّكَاثُرُ

Al haaku mut takathur

THE AVARICE OF plenitude keeps you occupied

Surah Number : 102 , Ayat Number : 1

"حَتَّىٰ زُرْتُمُ الْمَقَابِرَ"

Hatta zurtumul-maqaabir

Till you reach the grave.

Surah Number : 102 , Ayat Number : 2

"كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ"

Kalla sawfa ta'lamoon

But you will come to know soon; --

Surah Number : 102 , Ayat Number : 3

"ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ"

Thumma kalla sawfa ta'lamoon

Indeed you will come to know soon.

Surah Number : 102 , Ayat Number : 4

"كَلَّا لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عِلْمَ الْيَقِينِ"

Kalla law ta'lamoona 'ilmal yaqeen

And yet if you knew with positive knowledge

Surah Number : 102 , Ayat Number : 5

"لَتَرَوُنَّ الْجَحِيمَ"

Latara-wun nal jaheem

You have indeed to behold Hell;

Surah Number : 102 , Ayat Number : 6

"ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيْنَ الْيَقِينِ"

Thumma latara wunnaha 'ainal yaqeen

Then you will see it with the eye of certainty.

Surah Number : 102 , Ayat Number : 7

"ثُمَّ لَتُسْأَلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ النَّعِيمِ"

Thumma latus alunna yauma-izin 'anin na'eem

Then on that day you will surely be asked about the verity of pleasures.

Surah Number : 102 , Ayat Number : 8

وَالْعَصْرِ

Wal' asr

TIME AND AGE are witness

Surah Number : 103 , Ayat Number : 1

"إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ لَفِي خُسْرٍ"

Innal insaana lafee khusr

Man is certainly loss,

Surah Number : 103 , Ayat Number : 2

"إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ"

Il lal lazeena aamanu wa 'amilus saali haati wa tawa saw bil haqqi wa tawa saw bis sabr

Except those who believe, and do good and enjoin truth on one another, and enjoin one another to bear with fortitude (the trials that befall).

Surah Number : 103 , Ayat Number : 3

وَيْلٌ لِكُلِّ هُمَزَةٍ لُمَزَةٍ

Wai lul-li kulli hu mazatil-lumaza

WOE TO EVERY slanderer, back-biter,

Surah Number : 104 , Ayat Number : 1

"الَّذِي جَمَعَ مَالًا وَعَدَّدَهُ"

Al-lazi jama'a maalaw wa'addadah

Who amasses wealth and hordes it.

Surah Number : 104 , Ayat Number : 2

"يَحْسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُ أَخْلَدَهُ"

Yahsabu anna maalahu akhladah

Does he think his wealth will abide for ever with him?

Surah Number : 104 , Ayat Number : 3

"كَلَّا ۖ لَيُنْبَذَنَّ فِي الْحُطَمَةِ"

Kalla layum ba zanna fil hutamah

By no means. He will be thrown into Hutama.

Surah Number : 104 , Ayat Number : 4

"وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْحُطَمَةُ"

Wa maa adraaka mal-hutamah

How will you comprehend what Hutama is?

Surah Number : 104 , Ayat Number : 5

"نَارُ اللَّهِ الْمُوقَدَةُ"

Narul laahil-mooqada

It is the fire kindled by God

Surah Number : 104 , Ayat Number : 6

"الَّتِي تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى الْأَفْئِدَةِ"

Al latee tat tali'u 'alalafidah

Which penetrates the hearts

Surah Number : 104 , Ayat Number : 7

"إِنَّهَا عَلَيْهِمْ مُؤْصَدَةٌ"

Innaha 'alaihim moosada

(And) vaults them over

Surah Number : 104 , Ayat Number : 8

"فِي عَمَدٍ مُمَدَّدَةٍ"

Fee 'amadim-mu mad dadah

In extending columns.

Surah Number : 104 , Ayat Number : 9

أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصْحَابِ الْفِيلِ

Alam tara kaifa fa'ala rabbuka bi ashaabil feel

HAVE YOU NOT seen how your Lord dealt with the people of the elephants?

Surah Number : 105 , Ayat Number : 1

"أَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِي تَضْلِيلٍ"

Alam yaj'al kai dahum fee tad leel

Did He not make their plan go wrong,

Surah Number : 105 , Ayat Number : 2

"وَأَرْسَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَيْرًا أَبَابِيلَ"

Wa arsala 'alaihim tairan abaabeel

And sent hordes of chargers flying against them,

Surah Number : 105 , Ayat Number : 3

"تَرْمِيهِمْ بِحِجَارَةٍ مِنْ سِجِّيلٍ"

Tar meehim bi hi jaaratim min sij jeel

(While) you were pelting them with stones of porphyritic lava,

Surah Number : 105 , Ayat Number : 4

"فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍ مَأْكُولٍ"

Faja 'alahum ka'asfim m'akool

And turned them into pastured fields of corn?

Surah Number : 105 , Ayat Number : 5

لِإِيلَافِ قُرَيْشٍ

Li-ilaafi quraish

SINCE THE QURAISH have been united,

Surah Number : 106 , Ayat Number : 1

"إِيلَافِهِمْ رِحْلَةَ الشِّتَاءِ وَالصَّيْفِ"

Elaafihim rihlatash shitaa-i wass saif

United to fit out caravans winter and summer,

Surah Number : 106 , Ayat Number : 2

"فَلْيَعْبُدُوا رَبَّ هَٰذَا الْبَيْتِ"

Fal y'abudu rabba haazal-bait

Let them worship the Lord of this House,

Surah Number : 106 , Ayat Number : 3

"الَّذِي أَطْعَمَهُمْ مِنْ جُوعٍ وَآمَنَهُمْ مِنْ خَوْفٍ"

Allazi at'amahum min ju'inw-wa-aamana hum min khawf

Who provided them against destitution and gave them security against fear.

Surah Number : 106 , Ayat Number : 4

أَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي يُكَذِّبُ بِالدِّينِ

Ara-aital lazee yu kazzibu bid deen

HAVE YOU SEEN him who denies the Day of Judgement?

Surah Number : 107 , Ayat Number : 1

"فَذَٰلِكَ الَّذِي يَدُعُّ الْيَتِيمَ"

Fa zaalikal lazi yadu'ul-yateem

It is he who pushes the orphan away,

Surah Number : 107 , Ayat Number : 2

"وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ"

Wa la ya huddu 'alaa ta'amil miskeen

And does not induce others to feed the needy.

Surah Number : 107 , Ayat Number : 3

"فَوَيْلٌ لِلْمُصَلِّينَ"

Fa wai lul-lil mu salleen

Woe to those who pray

Surah Number : 107 , Ayat Number : 4

"الَّذِينَ هُمْ عَنْ صَلَاتِهِمْ سَاهُونَ"

Al lazeena hum 'an salaatihim sahoon

But who are oblivious of their moral duties,

Surah Number : 107 , Ayat Number : 5

"الَّذِينَ هُمْ يُرَاءُونَ"

Al lazeena hum yuraa-oon

Who dissimulate

Surah Number : 107 , Ayat Number : 6

"وَيَمْنَعُونَ الْمَاعُونَ"

Wa yamna'oonal ma'oon

And withhold things of common use (from others).

Surah Number : 107 , Ayat Number : 7

إِنَّا أَعْطَيْنَاكَ الْكَوْثَرَ

Innaa a'taina kal kauthar

HAVE SURELY given you pre-eminence (in numbers and following);

Surah Number : 108 , Ayat Number : 1

"فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَانْحَرْ"

Fa salli li rabbika wanhar

So serve your Lord with full dedication and sacrifice.

Surah Number : 108 , Ayat Number : 2

"إِنَّ شَانِئَكَ هُوَ الْأَبْتَرُ"

Inna shani-aka huwal abtar

It is surely your opponents whose line will come to end.

Surah Number : 108 , Ayat Number : 3

قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ

Qul yaa-ai yuhal kaafiroon

SAY: "O YOU unbelievers,

Surah Number : 109 , Ayat Number : 1

"لَا أَعْبُدُ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ"

Laa a'budu ma t'abudoon

I do not worship what you worship,

Surah Number : 109 , Ayat Number : 2

"وَلَا أَنْتُمْ عَابِدُونَ مَا أَعْبُدُ"

Wa laa antum 'aabidoona maa a'bud

Nor do you worship who I worship,

Surah Number : 109 , Ayat Number : 3

"وَلَا أَنَا عَابِدٌ مَا عَبَدْتُمْ"

Wa laa ana 'abidum maa 'abattum

Nor will I worship what you worship,

Surah Number : 109 , Ayat Number : 4

"وَلَا أَنْتُمْ عَابِدُونَ مَا أَعْبُدُ"

Wa laa antum 'aabidoona ma a'bud

Nor will you worship who I worship:

Surah Number : 109 , Ayat Number : 5

"لَكُمْ دِينُكُمْ وَلِيَ دِينِ"

Lakum deenukum wa liya deen.

To you your way, to me my way

Surah Number : 109 , Ayat Number : 6

إِذَا جَاءَ نَصْرُ اللَّهِ وَالْفَتْحُ

Iza jaa-a nas rullahi walfath

WHEN THE HELP of God arrives and victory,

Surah Number : 110 , Ayat Number : 1

"وَرَأَيْتَ النَّاسَ يَدْخُلُونَ فِي دِينِ اللَّهِ أَفْوَاجًا"

Wa ra-aitan naasa yadkhuloona fee deenil laahi afwajah

And you see men enter God?s discipline horde on horde,

Surah Number : 110 , Ayat Number : 2

"فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَاسْتَغْفِرْهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ تَوَّابًا"

Fa sab bih bihamdi rabbika was taghfir, innahu kaana tawwaaba

Then glorify your Lord and seek His forgiveness. Verily He is relenting.

Surah Number : 110 , Ayat Number : 3

تَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبِي لَهَبٍ وَتَبَّ

Tab bat yadaa abee Lahabinw-wa tabb

DESTROYED WILL BE the hands of Abu Lahab, and he himself will perish.

Surah Number : 111 , Ayat Number : 1

"مَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُ مَالُهُ وَمَا كَسَبَ"

Maa aghna 'anhu maaluhu wa ma kasab

Of no avail shall be his wealth, nor what he has acquired.

Surah Number : 111 , Ayat Number : 2

"سَيَصْلَىٰ نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ"

Sa yas laa naran zaata lahab

He will be roasted in the fire,

Surah Number : 111 , Ayat Number : 3

"وَامْرَأَتُهُ حَمَّالَةَ الْحَطَبِ"

Wam ra-atuhu hamma latal-hatab

And his wife, the portress of fire wood,

Surah Number : 111 , Ayat Number : 4

"فِي جِيدِهَا حَبْلٌ مِنْ مَسَدٍ"

Fee jeediha hab lum mim-masad

Will have a strap of fibre rope around her neck.

Surah Number : 111 , Ayat Number : 5

قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ

Qul huwal laahu ahad

SAY: "HE IS God the one the most unique,

Surah Number : 112 , Ayat Number : 1

"اللَّهُ الصَّمَدُ"

Allah hus-samad

God the immanently indispensable.

Surah Number : 112 , Ayat Number : 2

"لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ"

Lam yalid wa lam yoolad

He has begotten no one, and is begotten of none.

Surah Number : 112 , Ayat Number : 3

"وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ"

Wa lam yakul-lahu kufuwan ahad

There is no one comparable to Him."

Surah Number : 112 , Ayat Number : 4

قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ

Qul a'uzoo bi rabbil-falaq

SAY: "I SEEK refuge with the Lord of rising day

Surah Number : 113 , Ayat Number : 1

"مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ"

Min sharri ma khalaq

From the evil of what He has created,

Surah Number : 113 , Ayat Number : 2

"وَمِنْ شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ"

Wa min sharri ghasiqin iza waqab

And the evil of evening darkness when it overspreads,

Surah Number : 113 , Ayat Number : 3

"وَمِنْ شَرِّ النَّفَّاثَاتِ فِي الْعُقَدِ"

Wa min sharrin-naffaa-saati fil 'uqad

From the evil of sorceresses who blow incantations on knots,

Surah Number : 113 , Ayat Number : 4

"وَمِنْ شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ"

Wa min shar ri haasidin iza hasad

From the evil of the envier when he envies.

Surah Number : 113 , Ayat Number : 5

قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ

Qul a'uzu birabbin naas

SAY: "I SEEK refuge with the Lord of men,

Surah Number : 114 , Ayat Number : 1

"مَلِكِ النَّاسِ"

Malikin naas

The King of men,

Surah Number : 114 , Ayat Number : 2

"إِلَٰهِ النَّاسِ"

Ilaahin naas

The God of men,

Surah Number : 114 , Ayat Number : 3

"مِنْ شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ"

Min sharril was waasil khannaas

From the evil of him who breathes temptations into the minds of men,

Surah Number : 114 , Ayat Number : 4

"الَّذِي يُوَسْوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ النَّاسِ"

Al lazee yuwas wisu fee sudoorin naas

Who suggests evil thoughts to the hearts of men --

Surah Number : 114 , Ayat Number : 5

"مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ"

Minal jinnati wan naas (End Juz 30)

From among the jinns and men.

Surah Number : 114 , Ayat Number : 6
