ق ۚ وَالْقُرْآنِ الْمَجِيدِ

Qaaaf; wal Qur aanil Majeed

QAF. I CALL to witness the glorious Qur?an.

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 1

"بَلْ عَجِبُوا أَنْ جَاءَهُمْ مُنْذِرٌ مِنْهُمْ فَقَالَ الْكَافِرُونَ هَٰذَا شَيْءٌ عَجِيبٌ"

Bal 'ajibooo an jaa'ahum munzirum minhum faqaalal kaafiroona haazaa shai'un 'ajeeb

They are rather surprised that a warner from among themselves has come to them. So the unbelievers say: "This is astonishing:

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 2

"أَإِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا ۖ ذَٰلِكَ رَجْعٌ بَعِيدٌ"

'A-izaa mitnaa wa kunnaa turaaban zaalika raj'um ba'eed

When we are dead and turned to dust, this returning (to life) is most far-fetched."

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 3

"قَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا تَنْقُصُ الْأَرْضُ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَعِنْدَنَا كِتَابٌ حَفِيظٌ"

Qad 'alimnaa maa tanqu-sul-ardu minhum wa 'indanaa Kitaabun Hafeez

We know what the earth consumes of them, for We have the Book that preserves everything.

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 4

"بَلْ كَذَّبُوا بِالْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ فَهُمْ فِي أَمْرٍ مَرِيجٍ"

Bal kazzaboo bilhaqqi lammaa jaaa'ahum fahum feee amrim mareej

But no! They called the truth a lie when it came to them; so they are in a confused state.

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 5

"أَفَلَمْ يَنْظُرُوا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَوْقَهُمْ كَيْفَ بَنَيْنَاهَا وَزَيَّنَّاهَا وَمَا لَهَا مِنْ فُرُوجٍ"

Afalam yanzurooo ilas samaaa'i fawqahum kaifa banainaahaa wa zaiyannaahaa wa maa lahaa min furooj

Have they not looked at the sky above them, how We have fashioned and adorned it, and it has no flaw?

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 6

"وَالْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَاهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَأَنْبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِنْ كُلِّ زَوْجٍ بَهِيجٍ"

Wal arda madadnaahaa wa alqainaa feehaa rawaasiya wa ambatnaa feehaa min kulli zawjim baheej

We stretched the earth and placed upon it firm stabilisers and We made every kind of splendid thing to grow upon it

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 7

"تَبْصِرَةً وَذِكْرَىٰ لِكُلِّ عَبْدٍ مُنِيبٍ"

Tabsiratanw wa zikraa likulli 'abdim muneeb

As instruction and reminder to every penitent creature.

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 8

"وَنَزَّلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً مُبَارَكًا فَأَنْبَتْنَا بِهِ جَنَّاتٍ وَحَبَّ الْحَصِيدِ"

Wa nazzalnaa minas samaaa'i maaa'am mubaarakan fa ambatnaa bihee jannaatinw wa habbal haseed

And We send down water as a blessing from the sky, and grow gardens with it and the grain for harvest,

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 9

"وَالنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَاتٍ لَهَا طَلْعٌ نَضِيدٌ"

Wannakhla baasiqaatil laha tal'un nadeed

And tall date-palms with their spathes pile on pile

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 10

"رِزْقًا لِلْعِبَادِ ۖ وَأَحْيَيْنَا بِهِ بَلْدَةً مَيْتًا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ الْخُرُوجُ"

Rizqal lil'ibaad, wa ahyainaa bihee baldatam maitaa; kazaalikal khurooj

As a provision for men, and enlivened a region that was dead. Even thus will be the life after death.

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 11

"كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَأَصْحَابُ الرَّسِّ وَثَمُودُ"

Kazzabat qablahum qawmu Noohinw wa Ashaabur Rassi wa Samood

The people of Noah, Ar-Rass and Thamud denied before you,

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 12

"وَعَادٌ وَفِرْعَوْنُ وَإِخْوَانُ لُوطٍ"

Wa 'Aadunw wa Fir'awnu wikhwaanu loot

As did the people of ?Ad and Pharaoh and the brethren of Lot,

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 13

"وَأَصْحَابُ الْأَيْكَةِ وَقَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ ۚ كُلٌّ كَذَّبَ الرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ وَعِيدِ"

Wa Ashaabul Aykati wa qawmu Tubba'; kullun kazzabar Rusula fahaqqa wa'eed

And the dwellers of the Wood and people of Tubba?. Each of them denied the apostles. So My threat became a reality.

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 14

"أَفَعَيِينَا بِالْخَلْقِ الْأَوَّلِ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ فِي لَبْسٍ مِنْ خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ"

Afa'a yeenaa bilkhalqil awwal; bal hum fee labsim min khalqin jadeed

Were We exhausted by the act of the first creation? And yet they are confused about a new creation.

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 15

"وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنْسَانَ وَنَعْلَمُ مَا تُوَسْوِسُ بِهِ نَفْسُهُ ۖ وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ حَبْلِ الْوَرِيدِ"

Wa laqad khalaqnal insaana wa na'lamu maa tuwaswisu bihee nafsuhoo wa Nahnu aqrabu ilaihi min hablil wareed

He created man and surely know what misdoubts arise in their hearts; for We are closer to him than his jugular vein.

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 16

"إِذْ يَتَلَقَّى الْمُتَلَقِّيَانِ عَنِ الْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ الشِّمَالِ قَعِيدٌ"

'Iz yatalaqqal mutalaqqi yaani 'anil yameeni wa 'anish shimaali qa'eed

When the two (angels) who keep the account, one sitting on the right, one on the left, take it down,

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 17

"مَا يَلْفِظُ مِنْ قَوْلٍ إِلَّا لَدَيْهِ رَقِيبٌ عَتِيدٌ"

Maa yalfizu min qawlin illaa ladaihi raqeebun 'ateed

There is not a word he utters but an observer is ready (to make note of it).

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 18

"وَجَاءَتْ سَكْرَةُ الْمَوْتِ بِالْحَقِّ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ مَا كُنْتَ مِنْهُ تَحِيدُ"

Wa jaaa'at sakratul mawti bilhaqq; zaalika maa kunta minhu taheed

The palsy of death will surely come. This is what you wished to avert.

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 19

"وَنُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ الْوَعِيدِ"

Wa nufikha fis Soor; zaalika yawmul wa'eed

And the trumpet blast will sound: It would be the Day of Doom.

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 20

"وَجَاءَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَعَهَا سَائِقٌ وَشَهِيدٌ"

Wa jaaa'at kullu nafsim ma'ahaa saaa'iqunw wa shaheed

Each soul will come with a driver and a witness.

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 21

"لَقَدْ كُنْتَ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مِنْ هَٰذَا فَكَشَفْنَا عَنْكَ غِطَاءَكَ فَبَصَرُكَ الْيَوْمَ حَدِيدٌ"

Laqad kunta fee ghaf latim min haazaa fakashafnaa 'anka ghitaaa'aka fabasarukal yawma hadeed

(And the driver will say:) "You were oblivious of this, so we have removed the veil, and how keen is your sight today!"

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 22

"وَقَالَ قَرِينُهُ هَٰذَا مَا لَدَيَّ عَتِيدٌ"

Wa qaala qareenuhoo haazaa maa ladaiya 'ateed

His companion will say: "Here is (the record) I have ready with me."

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 23

"أَلْقِيَا فِي جَهَنَّمَ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ"

Alqiyaa fee Jahannama kulla kaffaarin 'aneed

"Cast each stubborn unbeliever into Hell," (they will be told),

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 24

"مَنَّاعٍ لِلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍ مُرِيبٍ"

Mannaa'il lilkhayri mu'tadim mureeb

"Every obstructor of good, transgressor, and the sceptic,

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 25

"الَّذِي جَعَلَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا آخَرَ فَأَلْقِيَاهُ فِي الْعَذَابِ الشَّدِيدِ"

Allazee ja'ala ma'al laahi ilaahan aakhara fa alqiyaahu fil'azaabish shadeed

Who had set up another god with God. Cast him into severe torment."

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 26

"۞ قَالَ قَرِينُهُ رَبَّنَا مَا أَطْغَيْتُهُ وَلَٰكِنْ كَانَ فِي ضَلَالٍ بَعِيدٍ"

Qaala qareenuhoo Rabbanaa maaa atghaituhoo wa laakin kaana fee dalaahim ba'eed

His companion will say: "O Lord, I did not lead him to wickedness, but he was himself far astray."

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 27

"قَالَ لَا تَخْتَصِمُوا لَدَيَّ وَقَدْ قَدَّمْتُ إِلَيْكُمْ بِالْوَعِيدِ"

Qaala laa takhtasimoo ladaayya wa qad qaddamtu ilaikum bilwa'eed

"Do not argue in My presence. I had announced the promise of doom in advance.

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 28

"مَا يُبَدَّلُ الْقَوْلُ لَدَيَّ وَمَا أَنَا بِظَلَّامٍ لِلْعَبِيدِ"

Maa yubaddalul qawlu ladaiya wa maaa ana bizal laamil lil'abeed

There is no changing of My word, nor am I unjust to My creatures."

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 29

"يَوْمَ نَقُولُ لِجَهَنَّمَ هَلِ امْتَلَأْتِ وَتَقُولُ هَلْ مِنْ مَزِيدٍ"

Yawma naqoolu li'jahannama halim talaati wa taqoolu hal mim mazeed

We shall ask Hell that day: "Are you full?" It will answer: "Are there still more?"

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 30

"وَأُزْلِفَتِ الْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍ"

Wa uzlifatil jannatu lil muttaqeena ghaira ba'eed

And Paradise will be brought near, not far from those who took heed for themselves and feared God.

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 31

"هَٰذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِكُلِّ أَوَّابٍ حَفِيظٍ"

Haaza maa too'adoona likulli awwaabin hafeez

"This is what you had been promised," (will be said) to every penitent who remembered (his duty),

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 32

"مَنْ خَشِيَ الرَّحْمَٰنَ بِالْغَيْبِ وَجَاءَ بِقَلْبٍ مُنِيبٍ"

Man khashiyar Rahmaana bilghaibi wa jaaa'a biqalbim muneeb

Who feared Ar-Rahman in secret, and came with a penitent heart:

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 33

"ادْخُلُوهَا بِسَلَامٍ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ الْخُلُودِ"

Udkhuloohaa bisalaamin zaalika yawmul khulood

"Enter it in peace. This is the day of life abiding."

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 34

"لَهُمْ مَا يَشَاءُونَ فِيهَا وَلَدَيْنَا مَزِيدٌ"

Lahum maa yashaaa'oona feehaa wa ladainaa mazeed

Theirs will be whatsoever they wish: And with Us there is more.

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 35

"وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُمْ مِنْ قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُمْ بَطْشًا فَنَقَّبُوا فِي الْبِلَادِ هَلْ مِنْ مَحِيصٍ"

Wa kam ahlaknaa qablahum min qarnin hum ashaddu minhum batshan fanaqqaboo fil bilaad, hal mim mahees

How many generations have We destroyed before them who were mightier in power than they. Then they searched throughout the land to see if there was a way of escape.

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 36

"إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَذِكْرَىٰ لِمَنْ كَانَ لَهُ قَلْبٌ أَوْ أَلْقَى السَّمْعَ وَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ"

Inna fee zaalika lazikraa liman kaana lahoo qalbun aw alqas sam'a wa huwa shaheed

Surely there is a reminder in this for whosoever has a heart (to feel), or takes heed.

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 37

"وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ وَمَا مَسَّنَا مِنْ لُغُوبٍ"

Wa laqad khalaqnas samaawaati wal arda wa maa bainahumaa fee sittati ayyaamin wa maa massanaa mil lughoob

We created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, in six spans, and no weariness came upon Us.

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 38

"فَاصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ الْغُرُوبِ"

Fasbir 'alaa maa yaqooloona wa sabbih bihamdi Rabbika qabla tuloo'ish shamsi wa qablal ghuroob

So you bear with patience what they say, and sing the praises of your Lord before the rising of the sun and its setting,

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 39

"وَمِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَأَدْبَارَ السُّجُودِ"

Wa minal laili fasabbih hu wa adbaaras sujood

And glorify Him for some portion of the night, and additional adorations.

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 40

"وَاسْتَمِعْ يَوْمَ يُنَادِ الْمُنَادِ مِنْ مَكَانٍ قَرِيبٍ"

Wastami' yawma yunaa dil munaadi mim makaanin qareeb

Take heed that the day the crier calls from a place close (to every one),

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 41

"يَوْمَ يَسْمَعُونَ الصَّيْحَةَ بِالْحَقِّ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ الْخُرُوجِ"

Yawma yasmaoonas sai hata bilhaqq zaalika yawmul khurooj

The day they actually hear the blast, will be the Day of rising of the dead.

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 42

"إِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْيِي وَنُمِيتُ وَإِلَيْنَا الْمَصِيرُ"

Innaa Nahnu nuhyee wa numeetu wa ilainal maseer

We are the one who give life and death, and to Us will be the destination.

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 43

"يَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ الْأَرْضُ عَنْهُمْ سِرَاعًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ حَشْرٌ عَلَيْنَا يَسِيرٌ"

Yawma tashaqqaqul ardu 'anhum siraa'aa; zaalika hashrun 'alainaa yaseer

The day the earth will split asunder they will come out hurriedly. This gathering together is easy for Us.

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 44

"نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ ۖ وَمَا أَنْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِجَبَّارٍ ۖ فَذَكِّرْ بِالْقُرْآنِ مَنْ يَخَافُ وَعِيدِ"

Nahnu a'lamu bimaa yaqooloona wa maaa anta 'alaihim bijabbaarin fazakkir bil quraani many yakhaafu wa'eed

We are cognisant of what they say; but it is not for you to compel them. So keep on reminding through the Qur?an whoever fears My warning.

Surah Number : 50 , Ayat Number : 45
